Title: MK8 Deluxe Fire hopping
Post by ADAM-XL on 04/18/17 at 18:01:54

Well so far, on anti gravity sections, it is gone as seen in this video

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=HkHw2WLVj10

However, he didnt do any fire hopping on a section without anti gravity soooo, does anyone know anything else?

I had no idea so many people were against fire-hopping. I don't see any reason to buy the game anymore besides TT 200cc. Not worth the money.

I was about to post the same video  ;D

This makes me happy so far.  Still on the fence about buying mk8d, but no fire hopping pushes me a tiny bit closer to a purchase.

Fingers crossed its gone for good  :P

Firehopping is off from MK8 DX. I'm 99% positive with that statement.

Did someone out there get a review copy? ::)

Why did Trolltendo have to take out the one thing that made MK8 decently competitive?  [smiley=chairshot.gif]

Best news ever.

The worst news is that I don't have a Switch yet

Don't really mind. I usually play in 200cc where it's useless any way.

I Am looking forward to this fair play of sorts sadly clans will get bad reputation due to their outrage ::)

is it so hard to ignore such as sad skill?.............i call this a yes now clans (if any at all) will suffer item damage like the rest of us :P  [smiley=uzi.gif] only thing most can do as well as pros who use unfair skill will only rely on new Mega-Mini-Turbo :D

It's not really going to dent clans in any way, may even create more than regular MK8 now. The same good people will be good almost certainly. Pros will always adapt to the new optimal strategies so they'll always stay on top, pretty much. We beat you on MK7 without firehopping when you joined our rooms and tried to ruin us playing matches pretty easily, I don't see what'll be different here, other than continuation of private rooms being a beneficial bonus to people who enjoy clan wars.

Hi, is there any chance you can check your PMs? A few people (including myself) have been trying to contact you for a little while.  [smiley=dankk2.gif]

Isn't this a big deal to the MK8 community?  MK8 isn't my main game, but I would be really upset with the removal of firehopping from the competitive aspect.

Just confused, I thought I would see commotion with this announcement.  Huge turnoff to MK8D imo

Firehopping was a clear design flaw the developers overlooked, so why should anyone be surprised that Nintendo fixed their mistake? MK8D may be seen as "boring" now without firehopping, but that's subjective, and subjectivity is something Nintendo doesn't give a fuck about. Anyone who's crying about the removal of these imperfections can just stop because your crying will not change a damn thing. Instead, use common sense and just continue playing MK8  ::)

Remember:

MKDS players abused snaking -> MKW and onward removed snaking (and manual miniturbo charge).
MKW player abused bikes' clear dominance over karts -> bikes suck now (or perhaps in MK8D, equal).
MK7 players abused gliderboosts and gliderbounces, as well as boosts from entering water -> MK8 made gliders shit, and entering water is slow and shitty
MK8 players abused firehopping, momentum slides, and wheel/dpad -> all these techniques are removed from MK8D.
*Glitches are also impossible in MK8 (and MK8D), something that hasn't been the case previously.

So again, this change can't be of any surprise.

next: MK8D players abuse UMTs -> UMTs removed in MK9

Not saying whining is going to do anything about it, but it seems like a pretty big game changer.  On sm4sh pages whenever a character got nerfed people would go nuts so I was just a bit surprised that there was no backlash.

I've seen many people cry about it on Miiverse. Not here though, as majority of the guys here are completely indifferent to/disliked MK8 and welcome the change MK8D brings. Miiverse, on the other hand, is pretty much the home of MK8's community, and it's full of a staggering number of immature brats and firehopping fanboys. Even MK8's competitive players (such as SuperFX) would rather have firehopping than no firehopping. Just look at the comments in this video and see how many people agree with him: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-4LbkuT6iXE

I should clarify it's okay to rant about whatever change to a video game, but do so understanding that adapting to the change is really the only thing you can do (unless the change is so drastically bad that even Nintendo can rationalize our frustration with the change; usually never happens).

Yeah, even knowing that complaining won't bring change to MK8D, I'd still vent like hell if MK8 was my main game lol.

I don't understand the "it's not what nintendo intended" argument everyone says.  Tons of advanced tech in numerous games are not intended, yet make the games as amazing as they are.  Imagine melee without wavedashing.  So sad that nintendo doesn't support its competitive fanbase.

I guess all anyone can do opposed to this drastic change is just not support MK8D by buying it.  Oh well, I hope somebody else gets enjoyment out of it.

I tend to speculate even if these techs were found during development, Nintendo doesn't realize its potential until it drastically changes the metagame after the game's release. Then all the sudden it becomes "unintended." Thus, cue Nintendo's bias for casual players, and the techs are removed for future installments. Hence, to say, Nintendo fixed the "flaws" that they overlooked.

Yup. Talking with your wallet is what counts. Of course, millions of other people have to do the same in order to actually affect Nintendo, which will never happen. So really the only hope is for MK8D to have another unintended tech  [smiley=lolk.gif]

Let's do it boyz, let's find an unintended tech in MK8D, to make this mario kart as competitive as the other ones. Maybe the triple turbo charge can be abused. 8-)

Why are you saving something that is broken, if rumours are true they removed it then i will feel this will be good first step for nintendo....oh wait, THEY HAVE based on a few videos it is obvious your little exploits will be gone from this game and the next

i on one hand do not fear this change for many reasons so get use to playing casual way [smiley=lolk.gif]
