Personally, I'll probably get it just for the portability aspect. |

Post by Mick on 02/04/17 at 11:33:34 I'm personally not interested in getting the game in the near future, moreso at the price point proposed (which is more than what I paid for the Wii U version AND the DLC packs!). I've never been too big on the battle mode, and it doesn't seem like the old traditional "last man standing" version will be there neither. And the other minor additions don't give an excuse to play the game as a time trialer, assuming the gameplay remains identical like some of the players that got a hands-on on the demo are claiming. I could still end up with the game as my brothers are somewhat interested in the new characters and the new battle mode variants like Bob-omb Blast, but even then I don't see myself playing it much with Splatoon 2 on the horizon. I should be there for the proper sequel though ;) |

This will likely also apply to MKWRs. I've already begun work on this for the new version of the MK8 PP I'm working on programming. That being said, down the road if we decide that the games are similar enough, we will make combined charts (this will likely not happen until I finish the new PP). The reason we are not going to combine the charts right from the start is because there are too many unknowns. We don't know if there will be minor changes in the physics that are too small to easily notice, and we don't know how the new karts or characters could affect things. Then there's the question of controller advantages as you pointed out. Also, some people will want to know when a time was set with the Deluxe version of the game, or may only want to compete with people who are playing the same version as them. |

Comparing MK8 with MK8 Deluxe I'm really more interested now that I can play it anytime and anywhere and more interested by playing it in -a real- handheld mode and of course interested by playing it in tabletop mode, it's something I wanted to happen since the emergence and the rise of the tablet gaming and especially since I bought in 2014 my Archos GamePad 2, a real tablet and handheld console, it's very good for retrogaming, plus all the Android gaming experience using mapping tool, and I can even play it on a TV by using a micro HDMI cable, Archos did a very good product for gamers but it just missed an important feature that Nintendo made possible now by encompassing all experiences of gameplay possible and beyond! It's the same scenario as a dlc pack that costs $60. It's dumb, and it just highlights how close-minded Nintendo can be. But as everyone knows, these additional features could be all that's needed to compel someone to go buy it, and as I said, more power to you if you are one of those people. But me, all I care about is core gameplay (not from battle mode), and MK8 does not deliver there for me, so MK8D won't either. And that's kind of been my message: if your experience with MK8 was just average; a game you played for less than a year, then put it down and never touched it again, MK8D will end the same way. So, why buy the game, besides to complete a collection? Anyway, I'm just ranting at this point. If I were a rich fuck, I would buy it without thinking too much about it, and I'm sure that's what everyone here is doing anyway. Everyone has their reasons to make their own purchase, and at the end of the day, who should give a fuck about that? So, I hope everyone has fun with MK8D. ;) |

I have to say, although it's interesting seeing the 150cc game play as intended (I didn't even realise that fire hopping had been removed until I watched the new WRs), it looks boring as sin. Whereas 200cc just looks like chaos, I can't imagine it being fun online at all. Needless to say, I'll be avoiding this overpriced expansion pack. |

No SC's so far either, just like the original MK8. The extra item slot in online games is something I've really enjoyed. Haven't been much into battle, it's not my thing anyway. |
