Title: Bringing Back Awards #BBA Post by Goomba on 01/27/17 at 09:11:44 Hello everyone is ya boi goomb and emoh Since there has been talk about this in multiple threads and comments, the question is whether or not we should bring Player of the Year (And the other awards such as POW, POM, POQ) back. This forum post is so that we can discuss this subject and the possible future of award distribution. We could host polls for the POY (and maybe POQ?) for the years we've missed, and for 2017 and on we'd get all the awards back. So to sum it up: POY (Maybe POQ) for the past years and host them in polls POW, POM, POQ, POY from 2017 (so we'd have to go back a little bit) We could also add POM for 2016 since it's still kinda recent and was definitely active enough. Thoughts? |

It would just be another thing that people can work to achieve, as long as its kept balanced by not ignoring anyone outside the top 50, for example. It would work better if everyone's achievements are considered, even those much lower in the rankings. Doing polls here would probably be the best way to do that. Im not sure we should look back at 2016 (even tho yung Goomb might really want this given the insanely good year he had) just because thats been, done, finished, ovah. Starting a POM for January 2017 though would have my full support. POW from either Jan 1st or starting on Feb 1st would also be something I would like to see, I dont mind which. I have nothing against Goomba, instead I invited him a long time ago (even before this new technique) and I wish him all the best! In SMK there are some big changes upcoming and I was just using this for an example ;) To be honest I don't give any shit about MKDD for a long time already but I still hang around to see what's going on.. As for things like POY's, they should be unanimous since many players wandered away etc. If people care about POW points, take similar approach to awards given after 2007? Either way, it's for fun! |

I think it's a cool idea, shouldn't immediately refer to the past concept of POY, POM, ... it could be handled different now. Either way those who don't want it shouldn't be that negatif :p it's just for fun I guess and you don't have to be a part of it. As I understand Alex won't have to do all the work? And you can also keep the 'work' low by not doing POW but only POY and POM. Personally I'm not that into the idea, but I'll vote yes and see what it brings.
