Title: Team (Dark) Horse
Post by Lafungo on 06/01/16 at 18:33:21

I was thinking about what to do for my campaign, but I was coming up short for ideas. So instead, I'm doing something different: a campaign for a group of people.

As many of you know, MKSC is often considered to be the runt of the proverbial Mario Kart litter, as evidenced both by its sales and the size of its Player's Page. Unless you have prior experience with SMK, it feels clunky and alienating at first.
However, for those who overcome the initial barrier, MKSC is a rich and satisfying game, with surprising depth in both its driving mechanics and racing strategies.
Furthermore, due to its smaller size, the MKSC community is tight-knit and welcoming to all those who join it. Many a conversation has been had on just about any topic, and long-lasting friendships have been formed.

This campaign is meant to celebrate MKSC as both a game and a community, and to encourage others to overcome the initial hurdles and join the black sheep of the family. To that end, the core component of this campaign will be a raffle for MKSC-related items (most likely a cartridge + a console, the details are still TBD). You can earn tickets for the raffle by voting for members of the MKSC block throughout the contest and posting screenshots of your votes in this thread. Each vote you cast for a member will be counted as one ticket for the raffle (except for matches pitting two members against each other). At the end of the KC, I'll draw a winner and mail them the prize.

As extra campaign material, if any MKSC player wins the KC, I will write an in-depth intro guide to MKSC.

Stay tuned for more, and vote for the dark horse!

Edited out the karter list upon request - Mick

If an MKSC player in this list wins the contest, I'll double the offer: 2 people win GBA SPs and game cartridges, with the person who supported the MKSC block the most guaranteed this package. (I'll pay for one SP and 1 game out of my own pocket.)

I'll also be willing to sign something and leave a personal note for the person who voted and supported MKSC this KC the most. (My only condition is that you cannot be a person already IN the MKSC block and you cannot already have a timesheet on the site.)

I fully support Lafungo's statements about how fun this game can be given just a little effort to get past the initial learning curve, and we definitely are a tight-knit and welcoming group of people!  [smiley=beer.gif]

Edit: Sorry, but the offers are rescinded. It doesn't look like this sort of thing will be allowed. :P

The bribes tho, the fight against the mk64 block is strong. But remember it's not about the size of the fight inside of the dog. It's about the size of the dog. Kappa

Not having BPA in the list when he's a top10 MKSC player, shame on you.

What, my comeback doesn't count?

More people need to play MKSC. The skill curve is pretty smooth and the track variety make it easy to never get burned out.

I was planning on voting for most of that block anyway and I'm ineligible but I really like the creativity of the campaign.  [smiley=beer.gif]

It's okay, if MKSC don't want me I'll just take my lofty standing, team up with Yazzo and scoop up all* those precious** F-Zero votes.

*Two on a good day
**Polar fucking opposite of precious. I'm not bitter or anything, Nintendo
