Title: How does one T-Tech?
Post by nwa on 03/31/16 at 21:24:56

I dread BP  [smiley=chairshot.gif] , but T-tech seems like something that will lighten up my BP experiences  [smiley=beer.gif]. As far as I can see and try, it's an A-tech when you're sliding sideways. Kind of like what can be done around the rock at the start of DDD (a right MT at the corner of the rock, then a left A-tech). Anything I'm missing?

PS, I never really knew about these forums.. any other MKDD community gathering spots I'm missing out on?

Hey welcome to the boards!... I'd greet you by your name, but I have no idea who you are :-/

However, the T-Tech is a bit more than just a sideways boost. You need to release while doing the first sideways boost, press A for short moment again to load the next MT and then do another sideways boost releasing the A button. As soon as you are close to the corner, use your mushroom and tap R for a short moment to allign the kart. You should have cleared the gap. Of course; the closer you are to the corner, the better your final time will be! :D

Thanks for the warm welcomes :) I gave my profile a makeover; I'm invested now!

I think I'll give BP a go next time I play (today?)

Ah, Noah the DDD specialist :) now I know who we have here hehe [smiley=happy.gif]

Well, keep in mind that it might be very weird at first to switch from the usual R-Tech corner to this kind of corner, you will probably need at leats a hour before you completely get how it works. There's many minor details to it, so keep trying, maybe studying the WR video might help you too:

(turn down the volume, as this Mike guy has a really loud voice ( [ch865]° [ch860][ch662] [ch865]°)

rude  ;)

as for BP lap, I wrote this in the new vids here thread:
"It's 2 a-tech sidewaysboost right, shroom, tap r and start holding a so you get a cool corner, do a normal left, 2 a-tech sidewaysboost right, shroom, tap r and start holding a so you get a cool corner, then I do 1 MT, direction of it depending on how close I am to the wall.

What's important is that you shroom earlier and not sync your R tap with it
also R-tap should be a lil shorter."

Awesome that there are still new techs/strats found after so many years this great game is out.
Watching vids I always had the impression that Kouiders a-tech was superior compared to other players at the time he played. Congrats Mike finally beating him   :)

Your vid motivated me to turn on my gamecube today, but I am too rusty and for some reason I do not get that strat to work    :D

Keep up the good work guys, enjoy playing and push this game to its limits  :)

Hey, I don't have any times to upload yet, I mostly play 64 and I dabble in the rest but I've decided DD looks like a ton of fun so here I am. I can't seem to find the strat page or even a page laying out all of the techs and mechanics. Is there a page like that somewhere? Thanks in advance. Go Bills!

There is but it's offline currently. Meanwhile Goomba's tutorial series on YouTube is pretty good: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OmZYuVUHjzM&index=1&list=PLu2AUAna9lP2m3YcMtYHYgfHN2ZbJhT-m
