I'm no pro, just a beginning TTer, but I'm finding Excitebike Arena to be much more challenging than the other courses. I'm wondering if that's just me, or if it really is one of the more difficult courses to pull off good times.

There seems to be some evidence that it really is a tough course. On the charts, dEA has only 19 out of 162 times within 3 seconds of the site record. Compare that with, say, dYC, which has 35 out of 168 times within 3 seconds of the site record. As well, the in-game top 10 seems fairly spread apart.

So I'm wondering from the pros, do many players find this to be one of the tougher courses, or does dEA just happen to be my weak spot?

dEA is indeed one of the more tricky tracks. If you want to git gud at it, you will need to watch the world record several times as well as put in several hours of practice. But its definetely doable if you absolutely want to :)

Also if you're just beginning time trials, stay away from dEA lol. Get yourself some experience! Just set a sub 2 minutes time there, which shouldnt be very hard

As for myself... I'd rather get shot then be forced to tt dEA Kappa

dEA is one of the hardest tracks to TT. Don't worry, it's not just you. :P

If you're a beginner at TTs though, then dEA is not the place to start. Try some other tracks, then come back to dEA.

Good to hear I'm not alone. I played the track for a couple hours yesterday and set a low 1:51... it didn't seem too good to me. Right now, I'm just trying to set a decent time on all 48 courses, after which I may go back to some of my stronger tracks.

Seriously, this track is hard to do well on for some reason. I'd start on a less random track, like dBP or rRRy.

I dont time trial much these days, but when I do I usually PR easily (insert meme pic).

But seriously, I beat my times easily as they arent the strongest times. But when it comes to dEA i really struggle to PR on it. Seems to be one of those track that you must spend many hours on to get a good feel for it. It is one of the few tracks I dont really look forward to improving.

If you TT just to get good on wifi, then dont worry too much as it is one of the more luck based tracks, and people can frontrun it without knowing all the techs to the course. But if you TT for rank, then I guess you just have to grind up the course. Good luck!!
