Post by queenkani on 05/28/15 at 22:31:03

As far as topic go no one has decided to make a post for the release of 200cc here so i start this conversation on this matter...

what do you think of it's new speed choice? to me i think it will give me advantage in my own... umm matches online  [smiley=evil.gif]

I think the 200cc mode was discussed in the threads about the DLCs some time ago, but yeah, it may deserve it's own thread^^

I did not play a lot from DLC 2 yet, but my first impression of the 200cc mode was kinda "meh-ish". I like the speed (and it actually feels more like 250 than 200 [smiley=smokin.gif] ), but at the same time gets really frustrating once you notice that most strats you learnt for TTing in the weeks and months before, won't work anymore. That may be a (very, very) good thing for online only players, though ::)

Btw. does anyone reliably know if the official online format for league matches (like the upcoming MKWC) will be changed to 200cc? I read about that a few weeks before the DLC 2 release on MKBoards, but am to lazy to look for the discussion again, as their board feels utterly cluttered sometimes [smiley=bath.gif]

To my knowledge, all main competitions still use and will remain 150cc, with the exception of the upcoming GTT (http://mkboards.com/forums/threads/a-little-about-gtt.15774/). Understandably, many people don't want to throw away the strategies and lines they have learned on 150cc just like that, but 200cc is also weirdly enough really unpopular with a large share of the competitive players... which is a shame considering it alleviate some of the issues I have with online while being less "physically" demanding and YET more challenging.

If anyone in here is fairly active on 200cc, feel free to add me :P

That's nice to hear.
I think if Nintendo added a 200cc time trial mode incl. online leaderboards, there would be a lot more activity amongst high level players.

Around the end of april, I played a lot of 200cc worldwide races. I can say that I enjoyed it a lot! It was fun to find some good strats for 200cc, and the competition of the races were well balanced in my opinion. I even at least doubled my vr just off of these races.
