Title: Re: What is the inbox limit? Post by MK医師リオンカスタル on 11/04/14 at 19:55:39 Actually, wouldn't any limit just fall under the allotted server space for the forum? As in, PM# could equal some crazy number like >30k, or more, until this limit is reached? |
|
Title: Re: What is the inbox limit? Post by AlexPenev on 11/05/14 at 15:14:16 Pretty much. |

Ok, follow-up question: How much server space is allotted to the forum? |

Title: Re: What is the inbox limit? Post by VinnieC on 11/07/14 at 13:57:03 Why is the non-nbt site so big? and is the white space the extra space? |
|
Title: Re: What is the inbox limit? Post by shadow on 11/07/14 at 14:04:05 I don't use the smk non-nbt site at all really, so I'm not sure. I think it keeps a lot of its historical data on the site itself. The blank space is the free space we have left. The image is as close to pixel-accurate as I could make it. The remaining space when put together is a little larger than the space the MB posts currently take up. |

http://www.mariokart64.com/top100/top100.html Old mk64 snapshots. (The mk64 site only showed the top 100 times for each track back then) The reason they take up a lot of space is due to the pages being generated by some microsoft application. (probably excel) |

Title: Re: What is the inbox limit? Post by MK医師リオンカスタル on 11/08/14 at 16:29:06 ^Does anyone ever use that? If no, I can see it being removed if server space is strained & Mark doesn't want to pay more for more bandwidth. |

Absolutely. There's lots of ways we can make more space if needed. I can make those pages a fraction of their current size if people still want to see them, and if we need space in future. |

Title: Re: What is the inbox limit? Post by Michael F on 11/09/14 at 11:20:04 I look at those pages occasionally (but not often), so I wouldn't want them to be deleted. |

That used to mean like $80/mo. but recent newcomers (e.g. Digital Ocean, now Linode too) are in the same price range as crappy old shared hosting. Database down all the time? Unacceptable. Having to worry about the crazy small storage limit? Ridiculous. #DoIt I'm willing to help, I moved the Elite forums to a Digital Ocean VPS in May and everything is smooth so far. We still didn't move over the rankings site yet though because there hasn't been a need. |

Title: Re: What is the inbox limit? Post by Yoshistar™ on 11/13/14 at 10:32:07 ^ That would be great, no more "Database Down" 8-) Although it might be be a hell of a process to move it, so it's up to the admins. |
