Post by Mick on 10/30/14 at 15:11:47 Recently, a lot of MK8 people have wanted to join the MB to submit times (since YahooGroups is usually considered too troublesome/buggy). However most of them don't even receive the e-mail verification which is required to finish the registration. I know the MB has had several problems in the past in that aspect, but I can't find anything about this specific issue in the archives. Anyone as an idea as to why this is happening now? And will there be an alternative for those people to eventually register through admin assistance. If it's any relevant to the matter, many of the concerned people are Gmail users. |

(on mk7) People contact me on Miiverse because they can't join the pp. Most of them do have a forum account by now. After trying multiple times. Maybe some are so young that they aren't used to or don't know how to make a forum account. And probably some got the math question wrong. But there are people I know who do everything right and don't receive a confirmation email. After 5 or maybe 10 times trying, they receive one. Some receive it in the spam inbox too, of course. But I agree there is a problem that there are players that want to join but never do because of this :( Bastien and me tried it ourselves by making a new account. But it worked fine, for us. |

If they want to use Hotmail, they should copy and paste the link instead of click it. If they don't want to live in 1999 any more, they should use a better email. I don't know about the "emails are not being received" problem. It seems that whenever someone else tries it to test it, it always works for them... |

It might be possible for an admin of the forum software to specify an alternative outgoing mail server through the admin interface. |
