So that was probably a 1'50"1xx fail and an excellent run, but this really doesn't matter anymore because WR now uses a different strat..

RIP lots of 30.3xx and a few 30.2xx rMMM lap 1's where I actually use the orange MT at the end of the lap. (But now that I'm actually following JaK's WR strategy.... I am clueless how in working on improving my time in lap 1 lol) Also, getting the 7th and 10th coins are annoying :(

I've lost a bunch of 29.6 27.6 runs on rMC, but my biggest fails have been 29.535 27.701 dirt and 29.632 27.699 miss ramp trick out of antigrav [smiley=flush.gif]

btw, am I the only one who fails runs a lot by starting drifts mid-hop tech? Just curious.

Reviving this thread with some hot rDP3 fails.

25.527 (Average split for no fast mole trick)
23.956 (BKS lap 2 by .064. Nailed everything perfectly apart from the sc.)
24.099 (Got 0 air on the sc which fucked my alignment, hit the bridge slightly afterwards but i don't think it cost much time, then surprisingly got a good water exit which caused the nerves kick in and I take the next turn pretty wide. Had some really sketchy looking hops and slides to go with it on the following SMT LUL)

Funny enough that fail actually came 5 minutes into a TT session that I was probably gonna quit out of in a few more attempts. I only played so I could compare my driving to someone who recently got a 1:14.069. Turned the Wii U off afterwards and it caused me to start an ongoing grind to improve my WR the very next day. Here's some other fails I've got over the past two days:

25.490 (Pretty good split but obviously not the best I've done)
24.195 (horrible but I don't remember why it was so bad)
23.969 (Decent)
1:13.654

25.603 (shit lap overall)
24.059 (hit the grass slightly at the final turn yet still got a good split lol)
24.015 (drove like an idiot)
1:13.677

25.461 (solid lap 1 for no fast mole trick)
24.275 (slow water exit and bad mole section)
24.054 (decent driving but slow water exit killed any kind of potential that this lap had)
1:13.790

My best splits are currently 25.383 23.956 23.876 = 1:13.215

Once when I was playing rMP today I managed to be ~1.6s ahead of a 1:56.0 ghost (mine) going into lap 3. The problem however was that the ghost had my best-ever L3 split by a long way (37.2xx) so the nerves were really getting to me at that point. Unfortunately I foolishly bumped into one of the bouncing notes near the end which ultimately led to me crossing the line half a second behind... [smiley=uzi.gif]
