Title: Possibility of MKSC coming to the Wii U Post by karterfreak on 04/19/14 at 11:26:48 So with Nintendo starting to release GBA games on the Wii U through Virtual Console, and Mario Kart 8 around the bend, I feel there's a pretty good chance Nintendo will release MKSC through Virtual Console some time in the nearby future. Assuming they do, is there anyone who's going to pick it up on the Wii U? For me, this actually sparked mild interest because it would mean I could stream the game a lot easier, and I could finally get rid of my old DS Lite with no real regrets. |

(Of course, I've been kind of in the background for a bit myself, but yea...) :D Anyway, back on topic: I may get a Wii U at some point, and if MKSC was added as a VC game, I'd be all over it. I could then start streaming my mediocre play (which I don't currently have a way to do) and probably get back into the actual gameplay. |

That and it'd be nice to use the Classic Controller Pro for the game (I prefer the SNES style layout) instead of the DSLite. |

I'm having trouble confirming it online but I believe it has a "restore point" that you can open multiple times before overwriting. The SMK PP has already banned times from the Wii U VC, and I don't see how you could argue that all times from the Wii U VC could be allowed. Maybe only trusted players who have already played on other systems can submit from it? It's still good for casual play anyway so whatever. The Wii VC had a similar feature called a suspend point. It would create one whenever you went to the home menu and would then load it upon you returning to the game. The big difference is that you can only load a certain suspend point once, so it's more of a pause than a savestate. You couldn't manipulate it unlike the Wii U's restore point feature, which is why only Wii VC times are allowed on the SMK site. I know MKSC isn't available on the Wii VC but I felt like it would be good to differentiate the two. EDIT: You also can't copy suspend points to an SD card to reload them like that. |

You get infinite tries to complete the shortcuts 3/3 instead of actually needing the consistency to complete them on every lap. Any small mistake you make can just be reloaded and corrected until you feel the run is good enough to continue. The "retry" button is obsoleted. If you meant something else please say so, but to suggest they don't help players is ridiculous. |
