Title: Bi-weekly 150cc All Cup Races Post by karterfreak on 04/25/13 at 14:43:36 Sorry for not having posted in a while. Been a little preoccupied with other things. Anyways.... A few of us from IRC (namely myself, stacy, thino, ethan, mick, and shock) have been doing some 150cc All Cup races on SpeedRunsLive. We've been having quite a bit of fun with it, so I figured we could turn it into a bi-weekly event. Details are as followed: On every Saturday and Wednesday at 9:00PM GMT, will hold the race on SpeedRunsLive. The race will be opened up at 7:00PM GMT so that anyone extra from SRL who wants to join can. The usual rules that are held during our runs are: - No Lapskips (ie Cheese Land mouse trick, etc.) - Shortcuts are allowed - Start timer when you press A to go into the mushroom cup. - Stop timer / .done when you finish the final lap of SNES RR. For the purposes of the race, emulators are allowed, but keep in mind that if you are planning to use an emulator, you MUST stream in accordance to SRL rules. To join the race, either use this link (http://speedrunslive.com/channel/) or connect to the information below through IRC: irc.speedruns.com #speedrunslive from there, type .races and see if the MKSC race is up, if it is, join the channel. Some racebot commands you should know: .join : Type this when you're in the race channel to join as an entrant to the race. .ready : Type this when you are waiting at the starting point of the race. .done : Type this when you finish the end goal of the race. Anyways, hope to see some of you there for the races! |

Title: Re: Bi-weekly 150cc All Cup Races Post by Mr.Nosey on 04/25/13 at 15:31:24 Crap, Wednesdays are normally impossible for most of the year for me. However, should be able to do them from now on :P But the regular timetable is a great idea, I look forward to taking part. |

Title: Re: Bi-weekly 150cc All Cup Races Post by karterfreak on 04/27/13 at 17:20:57 Shock's getting closer and closer to sub hour... Good luck getting it on wednesday. Thanks to all who were there today! |

Title: Re: Bi-weekly 150cc All Cup Races Post by .Hahaae on 04/27/13 at 17:33:52 In the first post, could you edit in the best record for 40 cups and the best record for 20 cups? |

Title: Re: Bi-weekly 150cc All Cup Races Post by Lafungo on 04/27/13 at 17:42:51 ^I assume you mean 5/10 cups? Perhaps we could have a small leaderboard as well, not just the top time. And Shock has almost subbed the hour already!? That's crazy! :o I wonder if/when it'll be done Non-ZZMT. |

Title: Re: Bi-weekly 150cc All Cup Races Post by Shock on 04/27/13 at 19:40:16 Well, I think with a run with actually decent consistency I could get under 1'01 fairly easily but... the hour's gonna be tough. When I played today and got 1'02"18, my computer that I was in the SRL chat with blue-screened. So I was distracted trying to get that working again, and I was also playing with my arms around my other computer trying to live stream. It was awkward and I made a few mistakes with the buttons because of it. Grr. Wednesday evening, it's on! |

Title: Re: Bi-weekly 150cc All Cup Races Post by Shock on 05/04/13 at 10:47:19 I just did a test. Using a regular SP, I timed a couple methods of finishing the regular Mushroom Cup. After crossing the finish line of BC1, instantly turning the GBA off and on again and going through the reset menus again, up until the moment of the green light on MC took me 25 seconds pretty much exactly. A more aggressive passing through the menus might give 23 seconds, tops. Messing up might cost you up to a time of about 30 seconds. However, mashing the "A" button after crossing the finish line of BC1, through the award ceremony, up until the green light of MC took me 31.5 seconds. This leads me to the belief that if, done right, turning off and on the SP at the end of each cup might save a total of 40-50 seconds if done well. That's no insignificant amount, so I thought I'd share. Good luck on the races today! |

Title: Re: Bi-weekly 150cc All Cup Races Post by Lafungo on 09/13/13 at 08:28:22 Reviving this topic because I finally have time to do these and I've picked up speedrunning MKSC GP again. It'd be nice if we could start doing races again, but also to set up a small leaderboard to compete on. Based on times I know of, here's what the leaderboard looks like currently: 1. 59:42 - Shock 2. 1:03:40 - Mick 3. 1:04:24 - Stacy 4. 1:04:30 - Lafungo 5. 1:05:22 - Karterfreak 6. 1:07:59 - Nosey 7. 1:10:42 - Hahaae 8. 1:12:21 - Thino |
