Title: 1 AF Point Post by Shock on 03/20/12 at 11:32:10 After a very dedicated couple of weeks on my part this month, I have reached the point where every PR that is a gain on the charts for me will be cutting into what remains of Seb's lead: 1 AF point. Every player I pass on the charts is now especially significant as his lead falls into the 0.xxx range. http://img706.imageshack.us/img706/636/1afb.png ^ This is the good news for me. In 2-3 weeks, I have cut an entire AF point on Seb already, as well as scored several Site Records. The bad news is that progress will probably be quite a bit slower now, as every time on my sheet is within the top 10. It is really exciting and motivating to be this close though to the title of Site Champion. :) I will update and post my PRs in this thread now I think, so I can keep a more memorable record of this final push to rank of #1. Problem of course is that most of Seb's low scoring comes on individual tracks, like RBC3 flap, which you've obviously already exploited - now it's time to beat him in more head-to-heads. I think you can do it: you've already started exploiting tracks that should've been beaten a while ago with proper stategising and ZZMT use (RDP2 course, RBC3 course) and there's a few more I reckon you can grab without massive hassle (might be biased here but I think BC4 and RMC2 course are for the taking). Then it's down to the hard graft of improving every track again by small increments, but them's the efforts a champion has to strive toward. Do it! |

Much like playing in the finals in a tournament, it does no good to think about how close you are to winning the prize. You still have to perform play by play, just like practice. And of course, I'm going to continue to try to have fun while doing all this overthrowing Seb "serious business" stuff. :D Got a couple PRs tonight, just a little frustrated with RVL2. I have crashed a couple 7"9x, 7"2x, 7"2x runs by hitting those ice blocks or falling in the water, or majorly slowing down by trying to go over a gap just a little too wide. Annoying. RRR flap: 12"10 (#9 -> #5) RVL2: 40"50 (#9 -> #8) 3/22/2012: BC4: 1'35"35 (So many mistakes... lol) (#3 -> ... #1?! What the fuck? :o ) |

It was a bit frustrating as both PRs were also minimal gains. I also need to focus and study for a test on Monday. So, it's probably going to be a while yet before I start getting truly close to Seb. I did get under 3 AF points today though; it's been a long road to finally reaching a score this low, and I'm enjoying just seeing all the highly ranked times on my sheet. They all tell a little story in a sense - hopefully I can continue "writing"! :) |

Tonight, I got these in the car... 2 are WRs, but I wasn't able to record them as they were, afterall, achieved while on the road. Bumps and turns and everything. RR flap: 10"43 RGV3: 56"86 (WR) RGV3 flap: 7"97 (WR) RRR flap: 12"03 The RGV3 had 1/3 gap hops, and on the road I failed 2 runs that were 2/3, albeit a bit sloppy nonetheless. The RGV3 flap looked pretty similar to Mick's almost 1 year old WR, except I started it with the remnant of an MT and fired the third shroom immediately after landing from the second shroom. The last turn was wide though. RRR flap came in a surprisingly short amount of time, probably within 10-15 attempts. The RR flap though took a while and is still not ranked very well (to my standards). I plan to grab the RKB2 WR sometime, as I've failed several excellent runs there recently, then I want to pass those 2 players hundredths of a second faster than me on RBC2. If successful on both, that will be 4 players passed. At that point I will be tied with Seb for the crown, unless Ethan submits his hoarded PRs, in which case I am considering making a hammering attempt on RR course. Very, very close! After submitting my RKB1 (28"35) and RaR (34"85) times today, I am the first player to achieve Myth or better on all courses and flaps, my ARR score dropped under 0.500, and my AF is now a bit over a full AF point ahead of Seb's as this thread approaches its one-year mark (in another way of thinking, I've had a 70% AF cut this year so far, and in 2011-2012 I had approximately a 90% AF cut).
