Title: Re: 3DS Download Post by Little P. on 12/16/11 at 00:38:03 Well it has arrived in the UK this morning and after a quick go it looks a little worse than it did from the cartridge graphically, you can change the resolution but the screen is tiny. Either way it isn’t a deal breaker, and hopefully we should see an influx of new submissions. |

Title: Re: 3DS Download Post by UchihaSasuke on 12/16/11 at 02:28:40 let's see if i can PR on this version compared to using a game boy player. |

Title: Re: 3DS Download Post by F@nt0m@s on 12/16/11 at 05:05:57 Going to download them soon. :) |

Title: Re: 3DS Download Post by Mr.Nosey on 12/20/11 at 04:40:04 I'll be joining the site soonish, but there's only a few days til Christmas, so it might be rude to pick up another game when I might have other presents to use, and I'm still into mk7 for the time being, so I expect I'll start playing properly in the new year (so possibly download the game and set 1-off rubbish prs and submit before xmas :D) |

I think you'll have lots of difficulties to perform 80/80 PRs in a week... xD |

Title: Re: 3DS Download Post by Mr.Nosey on 12/21/11 at 04:34:51 I didn't say anything about the PRs being good :D |

Title: Re: 3DS Download Post by F@nt0m@s on 12/21/11 at 15:15:39 I was actually talking about unlocking all the retro cups... x) (taking A LOT of time) |

Title: Re: 3DS Download Post by .Hahaae on 12/21/11 at 16:03:56 Yeah retros are a pain in the ass to unlock and you will prolly never play GP mode again once you unlock them :D |

Yeaaaaaah, I realised that soon after :( I did a little research on google, and I think it was Stacy who I talked to on the mb, but I'm still not totally sure how the unlocking works - would someone mind giving me an exact description of what to do in what order to unlock all the tracks? Because after Xmas I won't have any internet, and I'll probably play a bit of mksc to unlock everything. |

Title: Re: 3DS Download Post by .Hahaae on 12/24/11 at 08:50:02 Beat all cups with a decent rank, then beat them again with 100+ coins per cup, with a decent rank. You will want to play them on 150cc if you want to play them in TTs - I did 50, then 100 and was like wtf at first. |

Title: Re: 3DS Download Post by Frances_Penfold on 01/11/12 at 23:00:32 I'm really enjoying playing this in 1:1 mode (hold select on boot up) with a nice pair of grips on the 3DS unit (currently using the silicon handle type from CTA, but considering ordering the Hori version). For me, this is probably the most comfortable and pleasant way to play MKSC-- better than on the DSL, DSPhat, or GBA micro. I see they still haven't added a true sleep mode to the game though, but at least the sound stops and screen goes blank when you close the 3DS :D Currently practicing some of my favorite tracks and remembering strats and driving methods... Is the 3DS VC version of MKSC for sure acceptable to use in time trials? |

Title: Re: 3DS Download Post by F@nt0m@s on 01/12/12 at 00:26:47 Yes of course it is. :) |

o.O I didn't know this, but this 1:1 mode is horrible, the screen is way too small, and I strain my eyes trying to look closer at it. And yes, the 3DS VC version is allowed - I'm just starting to tt it too. I owned a gba, but not the game, so was already planning to buy the cartridge in the future, but it's handy that it's on my 3ds now, even though I'm told it's harder to control the game. P.s. It took me over 10 hours to get the hang of the game and unlock the Retro tracks in 150cc to be available for time trialing :P |

Title: Re: 3DS Download Post by Frances_Penfold on 01/12/12 at 17:24:55 Glad to know it's ok to use the 3DS VC version. Some PSN downloads of PS1 games are a bit "off" from the original and not permitted for competition purposes-- WipEout, for example, on the WipEout Zone online community. It'll be much easier for the MK community to grow in the future if the digital versions are fair game :) I suppose in some ways the 3DS VC version of MKSC is more "trustworthy" for records etc. than an original cartridge played on a GBA or DS, because the 3DS hasn't been hacked yet :P For sure, YMMV with the 1:1 screen mode. I prefer it to the 'upscaled' version because it is sharper and non-distorted. I'm nearsighted and play with the 3DS pretty close to my eyes, so the image size doesn't bother me. The grips help *a lot* with making the d-pad more easily assessed and the whole system more ergonomic-- the position of the game on the top screen is just about perfect, for me, in terms of being in my line-of-sight when holding the system. I have several cartridges of MKSC that I picked up when the title went Player's Choice some years back in the U.S.-- this has been handy for saving ghost data on all tracks. I never loved the ergonomics of the options I had to play MKSC, though, and am considering using the 3DS version if I get back to setting PRs and stuff. |

Isn't that a matter of input lag or something like this? I know this is just dumb but if you plug your PS3 into an old cathodic TV with a RGB cable, PS1 downloaded games should be run in the same conditions as if you were playing on a PS1. This kind of setup is OK when you play PS1 discs in a PS3 so I'd be surprised if the result was different with PSN games. |
