Title: MK PP Issues Post by Brett on 06/25/11 at 21:09:54 Hey guys I am having trouble accessing the PP on my normal computer. Basically anything that starts with the URL mariokart64.com will not load for me but every other website loads fine. I also am able to access it on either my blackberry or using some proxy to hide my IP address, which leads me to believe that I am banned for some reason. Can someone please come up with any ideas on how to solve this? I tried speaking with a few people but I haven't been able to solve anything. Also before anyone asks I typed this on my phone so please excuse any possible typos. |

Title: Re: MK PP Issues Post by Jonesy on 06/26/11 at 06:59:22 Try replacing mariokart64.com with mariokartplayers.com in the URL (you can do this for any page). It's definitely a client issue as no one else seems to be having the problem. |
Title: Re: MK PP Issues Post by shadow on 06/26/11 at 10:02:46 Brett, if you could check your ip from your normal computer, I can check to see if it's on the banned list. The easiest way to check it would be to go to http://www.whatismyip.com/ |

Title: Re: MK PP Issues Post by Brett on 06/26/11 at 10:28:12 Ok Lacey I will pm you my IP address and see if this gets us anywhere. |
Title: Re: MK PP Issues Post by AlexPenev on 06/26/11 at 14:31:48 Another possibility is a DNS problem: the control computers associated with your ISP may be having trouble translating 'mariokart64.com' into a numerical address. If this is the case, it's probably temporary. |
Title: Re: MK PP Issues Post by Brett on 06/27/11 at 23:06:20 Penev, not to be a thorn in your side but can you give me some estimate on temporary? Its been like 2 - 3 days and still nothing. I don't know what it could possibly be but if you have any other ideas I would love to hear them. |
Title: Re: MK PP Issues Post by IsThatAGoodTime on 06/28/11 at 04:05:50 Try a different DNS provider to see if that's the issue, here are a couple choices: Google Public DNS: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 Open DNS: 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 You say the siteS "will not load"...what screen do you see when it doesn't? |
Title: Re: MK PP Issues Post by AlexPenev on 06/28/11 at 05:50:46 Brett, do you see anything when you access the site http://75.126.69.34 ? If you can see a webpage (fairly minimal, but not an error) then you have a DNS problem. If you can't load the numbers either, it's something else. Perhaps the domain has been blocked by your ISP ;D |

Title: Re: MK PP Issues Post by Brett on 06/28/11 at 07:13:42 Well unfortunately that didn't work either, I still get an error screen. I can't actually post a picture on my BlackBerry so here's NMeade with my pic. |

Title: Re: MK PP Issues Post by AlexPenev on 06/29/11 at 07:01:36 Brett, what's your other computer's IP address? You can PM me privately if you wish. |

Wait, what kind of error screen did you get? It's going to look like an error with that link anyway (a page with the IdleServ logo). Try http://75.126.69.34/test and see if you get a green 404 screen or the same "timed out" message. |
Title: Re: MK PP Issues Post by T-Man on 06/30/11 at 11:08:35 @Meade...wow, how'd u do that? :o lighter news: I went to FB today and Maynes sent me shit! >:( To me, I believe it's spam lol |
Title: Re: MK PP Issues Post by Brett on 06/30/11 at 18:18:03 I still get the same timed out message. I'll pm you Penev. |
Title: Re: MK PP Issues Post by AlexPenev on 07/01/11 at 08:35:16 Brett, we do have some IP ranges banned but none of them cover the IP you sent me in your message. Try the following: Start -> Run -> "cmd" -> "tracert 75.126.69.34" Give it a few dozen seconds to run. I assume it will freeze somewhere and time-out. Paste me what you get. |
Title: Re: MK PP Issues Post by Brett on 07/02/11 at 00:04:10 Sorry but I can't find out how to get there. I clicked start but couldn't find run. I figured you meant all programs but still couldn't find command so idk what to do. I'm practically computer illiterate. |
Title: Re: MK PP Issues Post by ALAKTORN on 07/02/11 at 04:25:20 it's not in all programs… at least in XP it's in the right table, the bottom icon |
Title: Re: MK PP Issues Post by IsThatAGoodTime on 07/02/11 at 07:18:48 If you're not in XP (vista/7), it's just a matter of typing "cmd" into that little box right above Start. |

Title: Re: MK PP Issues Post by AlexPenev on 07/04/11 at 04:28:46 Can you access things now? |
Title: Re: MK PP Issues Post by Brett on 07/04/11 at 06:59:39 Holy shit it worked! Thanks Penev! BTW what exactly did you do to fix it/what was my problem? I just want to know in case of the off chance that I have the same issue in the future. Thanks again! |
Title: Re: MK PP Issues Post by AlexPenev on 07/04/11 at 14:26:15 I didn't do anything special. Apart from our own blocked IPs, the server firewall subscribes to blacklist providers who monitor naughty IP ranges and you just happened to be in a bad one. The admins took a look and did something. Your IP range varies a lot, so it may not be a permanent fix. See how you go. |

Title: Re: MK PP Issues Post by shadow on 08/05/11 at 05:47:41 Hey Alex, Clark is now also having what seems to be this exact same issue: His IP is: 188.222.245.226 http://i.imgur.com/AOW3z.png |
Title: Re: MK PP Issues Post by AlexPenev on 08/05/11 at 06:36:48 That's not Clark's usual IP. Has he perhaps changed provider recently? I hope it's a static one. I've asked support to check the firewall blacklist. Wait a couple of days for a response. |
Title: Re: MK PP Issues Post by Zarkov on 08/05/11 at 07:33:24 It seems to be working ok now. Cheers for looking into it though Penev. Havent changed provider in the last year or so, unless its something at their end. |
Title: Re: MK PP Issues Post by Mick on 12/11/14 at 06:06:17 Bumping this because someone else that uses the forum to submit times has a problem that is very similar to the one Brett is mentioning here (can't join mariokart64.com and only mariokart64.com from any browser or device through wifi). I assume this is another issue with an ISP provider, but a check with shadow tells us that he is not banned... Alex, can you check this out again please? |
Title: Re: MK PP Issues Post by Q on 12/11/14 at 14:06:35 ^ follow up to above: no idea what happened but the site seems to be working for me again. I did send a ticket to my ISP, but they haven't responded so I don't know if it was them or what. |
