Title: Expectations Survey Post by DarkRoy on 04/25/11 at 15:39:51 It isn't many months before MK3DS is released (hopefully), but there hasn't been much talk about it yet. I am curious to know what you expect from the game, so I have made a survey to compile. I think it would be interesting to see what are the different expectations karters have from this game. - What MT system would you like to have in the game? - What characters would you like to see? - What items from past MK games would you keep, and what items would you remove? - Would you keep the same online system of MKW or would you make some changes? Please answer if you feel like it. ;) |

I want to experience a fresh gameplay, but so from the only trailer available it looks like a MKW-bis (without the bikes though) so could still be a little interesting. However I wouldn't mind no mt's at all like MK Arcade GP 1/2. - What characters would you like to see? The MKWii roster is fine but chances are there won't be as much characters. I would like to see that big purple Luma that looks like van Asselt (Lubba I think it is) and maybe Flora/Dino Piranha, but then I have no idea. Oh well as long as there's Yoshi... 8-) inb4sonic - What items from past MK games would you keep, and what items would you remove? The Boo should make a comeback, it was a really good item to use that shouldn't have been removed from the last game. Make it replace the effing thundercloud. ::) The blue shell can stay as long as it is rare enough. Also I liked most of the special items from MKDD like the fire balls, the chain chomp... and why not having some brand new items like the ice flower or ice shells ! - Would you keep the same online system of MKW or would you make some changes? -> There should be better than the VR system, but I wouldn't know how to replace it (dont like the MKDS stats neither) -> Having the ability to do team races, with maybe the possibility of choosing your team -> Having the possibilty to play single races (or a given set of races in GP's) in private rooms -> Free-for-all battles with the good old balloon battle mode (extra modes optional) -> Choosing the items you want to use during races/battle (different categories of item sets like in MKDD is alright) -> Top 10 extended to top 100 or even further. |

Remove Blooper, but it was in the demo. >_> Keep Mega Mushroom, preferably lasting a bit longer, I like hearing that music to the end of the loop. - Would you keep the same online system of MKW or would you make some changes? A few changes, I don't know what though. Maybe kart only and bike only rooms (if bikes are in this game). No forced team battles in battle mode. Itemless rooms. |

My personal preference would be MKDS, but I wouldn't mind if the MTing wasn't as frantic as in MKDS. What annoyed me about MKW's system is it didn't allow a good player to build a sizable lead. What characters would you like to see? As long as the original characters are there, I don't really care about additional characters. A re-introduction of R.O.B would be welcome though. What items from past MKs would you keep, and what items would you remove? I would like the thunder cloud to be removed. An item that punishes the bearer of the item is pretty stupid in my opinion, and defeats the purpose of items. I don't like the POW block either, so removing that would be good too. I think the items in MKDS were well chosen, so that would be my preference. Would you keep the same online system of MKW or would you make some changes? I prefered the wins/losses to VR. Instead of displaying the wins/losses as numbers, display it in a ratio, however this wouldn't give an accurate indication of the racer's skill because people would race noobs to protect their ratio. The top 10 leaderboard was a good addition to MKW, but a greater level of policing would be required to prevent spamming and hacking. |

For Wi-Fi races, I would make sure that the people you race (excluding friends) have similar rankings to yours :) I'd keep everything else the same, though. As for the TT and Tournament rankings, I would prefer there to be more than just top 10. |

Remove the Thundercloud and winged Blue Shell - I like the MK64 Blue Shell (either that, or allow players to dodge them with a mini-turbo). I really liked the vr system for worldwides, I think it is good motivation to continue playing - I hope they keep it. I'd also be interested in seeing players wins and losses. |

MKW's online system was pretty bad...here: 1) Battle can be individual or team, not forced team 2) VR/BR system needs to change...not sure what to replace with though 3) Joining a friend lands you in a waiting room, not sitting there pressing A for 40 mins 4) Can do Voice Chat of sorts in random WW's 5) Friend random players you race in a WW 6) More than 30 spots on your FL 7) Can switch characters/vehicles between races 8) Some sort of reset so that if you join a room you dislike, you can just leave w/o having to reset the system 9) Fix Coin Runners system. Half your points for a shell is ridiculous 10) A filter that catches subtle hackers or hackers who hack mass items |
