The drifting looks too sharp to be MK64 style.

Pretty sure it's MKW Kart style, maybe MKDS style.

We would need a genuine trusted source not some dirt sheet report.

My money is on it being similar or identical to mkwii style karts.  Which would suck of course!  The same guy designing this I think designed mkwii or at least I read an interview with someone from Nintendo and that was mentioned.  Can't seem to find the link again.

mvt the same team has made all four good karts (i.e. not dd/sc).

my money is on the demo being a year old and completely irrelevant to the final product.

Slip Stream is a fuckin made up term for retards who are below the age of driving.

it's called "drafting"

MKW System is like, the most basic system ever. MK64 system was alright, MKDS system would destroy the 3DS before 2012, MKDD; no.

Needs moar SMK and MKSC system for NBT/ZZMT's.  [smiley=happy.gif]

Agreed...because of that, I can only play MK64, MKSC, and hopefully MKDD & SMK

My favorite MT system is from CTR  ;D  Too bad I can't get into the game when doing time trials

From one of the videos that Terrence posted, it looks like MKDS system, as the guy was charging MT's via moving the circle pad left-right, but he could release either blue or red like in MKW.  :-X

Nonono!
You don't get it, the MTs are automatic MTs! And drifting while pressing the pad on the opposite direction doesn't release any MT...

Oh. Be prepared for a slow-paced game and extremely close top 10's then.  ::)

What if they had a mk64/dd/ds style of charging, but if you continue to slide you still get sparks? Pros will charge them fast but others can just hold them like MKW and get sparks slower but easier.

That would seem pretty catch all to me.

That would be great, but I don't think Nintendo is trying to please everyone. I think they're more looking out for the average players, since that is the biggest group of people with the most amount of cash. A lot of average players thought mkds was ruined by snaking, and I remember seeing it all over major gaming websites, so I'm pretty sure it caught Nintendo's attention. So now Nintendo seems to want all players to be closer in skill/speed, so that the average players still feel like they're in the race and not being "cheated".

The sad thing is Nintendo would only need to make a better matchmaking system (where you only get matched up to people near your skill) to make everyone happy. Then they wouldn't have to dumb down the racing mechanics.

They tried pairing people up by skill in MKW with VR. IMO it doesn't work, because there's the people who can play beginners and get 9999 and then the 9999 people who race against the high-level players, so it was a bit broken.
