Hey guys. I haven't made a topic until now for a few reasons. For the contest in 2008 I decided I wouldn't campaign at all, and wouldn't ask for a single vote from anyone in any of my matches. Campaigning against people and vote begging can lead to all sorts of grudges and nastiness, and the contest itself is kinda mean. 127 people lose, and they usually remember who to, so if you didn't campaign against them, they have less reason to think badly about you at all.

Anyways, I got boned by campaigning against me in 08, and I decided I didn't want the same thing to happen this year. So I had all sorts of ideas for cool campaigns this year, but then I stopped myself because nobody I faced was campaigning against me at all. Joe (great guy who has got stuck with MJ a few times and me this time around) didn't campaign, Harvey didn't, Pierre (of Final Fantasy awesome insanity), and Karel (everyone should always vote for this guy). All of these guys just let the dice fall where they might, and there was no way I was going to campaign against them.

So I was sort of hoping, like in 2008, to go the whole tourney with my sole campaign just being who I am, and the different stuff I've done over the years. Cooper is campaigning against me though, and I respect him, so I decided to get off my ass and do something about it. Me staying silent might give people the impression that I don't care. I do, and I really do appreciate the support that's got me this far. If I lose to Cooper, or to Etch if I'm lucky to get that far, at least I know I'll have given it a shot this year!

Anyway, enough blabbing from me. [smiley=lolk.gif] I'm not going to ask anyone to vote for me, or promise x,y,z, as you guys know that I've delivered stuff randomly before the contest (like sig stats, crazy mkwii pictures or the entire mk64 site...lol), and I'll be delivering new stuff long after the contest is over. So I thought I'd make a fun video instead, and I hope you guys like it.

This isn't intended to sway your votes from cooper. He's a cool guy, and deserves a lot of respect. But hopefully this will show a little of my appreciation for anyone who is voting for me.

Very tough decision for me in this final round as both are great guys. I voted for you William because the very first guide I had to learning the advanced strategies of Mario Kart 64 in this community was written by you. Between your guide and Finn's explanations and videos, the fun and challenge of MK64 reached a whole new level and allowed me to devote endless hours to PRing.

And as the equation goes, I had more women simultaneously in my life during my mk days than I ever have at any other point in my life. I remember balancing my time between PRing and three girlfriends (who oddly enough knew about each other and I was completely honest about everything with. Well...almost) which also had the fortunate bonus of a few threesomes (never got all of them to sleep with me at once =/). Where I found the time or the patience for all of that I have no clue, but it wouldnt have been possible without your guide. Thanks William and good luck!

I'd have voted for William anyway, so that vid didn't change my vote. It just confirms that not only is William a damned nice guy, he's got great talents in many fields, too.

A huge thanks to everyone who voted. There was a massive turnout for the final judging by the total votes. I tried to run a campaign similar to one TvL did earlier in the contest which impressed me. One of a sort of quiet dignity. It was almost entirely silent actually til near the end when campaigns were coming against me. :)

I'm glad that I could win without going negative about anyone I was up against, or making promises. Still, even though I didn't do anything like that, there will still be a background feeling of ill-will against me from a few people, because I beat out someone you really liked along the way, or just because something I did rubbed you up wrong. I expect it, because the contest has had a habit of doing that over the years, and I accept it. If it makes you feel any better, I probably suck at a few of the kart games you're good at, and I really hate being a noob.
