Title: Re: Mafia Gameover Post by DarkMeta on 05/04/10 at 00:32:27 Koopz, can you post all the night actions please? :) |
Title: Re: Mafia Gameover Post by thewebinator on 05/04/10 at 01:59:41 I played a pretty bad game, but it was my first one on Mario Kart Boards, so maybe I'll get better lol. It's always harder to be mafia IMO. Amazing game by Jack though, as well as Matthew, they helped the mafia greatly |

Title: Re: Mafia Gameover Post by Kmacc on 05/04/10 at 03:29:48 I was out the entire weekend the game started, hence why I didn't post. I joined a few hours before Day One ended, but it wouldn't let me post for whatever reason. From there, I was paralyzed the rest of the game until I was eventually killed. |
Title: Re: Mafia Gameover Post by IsThatAGoodTime on 05/04/10 at 06:12:11 Kmacc got owned :'( sucked that he could never post. Goose giving up and outing townies as mafia was really stupid. Fred/Howes giving up was dumb as well. Mafia was destined to win from the start with all the roles they had. They almost bungled it though. If you guys haven't looked, there's already a healthy discussion going on in the Results thread on the other board, might be worth checking out for those of you who played. |

Title: Re: Mafia Gameover Post by PVT.Hudson on 05/04/10 at 06:53:53 koopz nerf the silence ability |

Title: Re: Mafia Gameover Post by KoopZ on 05/04/10 at 06:58:30 any and all results are over on scotts board. as well as thoughts from other players. i'll go ahead and say a few things here though. game should not have been hosted at all due to my lack of time to do so properly. made a lot of mistakes this game that could've been avoided if i had the time to actually pay attention to it plus just lack of stupidity for next time i host. apparently a lot of people didnt like the different board idea either, but oh well. thanx everyone for playing, despite all the flaws. i wont be hosting for a long time, so bug honko in the future if you want another one. :) |
Title: Re: Mafia Gameover Post by PVT.Hudson on 05/04/10 at 07:09:31 will honko be hosting on the other forum |
Title: Re: Mafia Gameover Post by Honko on 05/04/10 at 07:18:05 Probably not, but I won't be hosting at all until at least mid-July so it's a bit early to decide. |
Title: Re: Mafia Gameover Post by IsThatAGoodTime on 05/04/10 at 07:20:33 (You forgot to plug honkbot) * points at "community" link in sig, which is actually a link to Robin's IRC mafia. |

Title: Re: Mafia Gameover Post by The Gaff on 05/04/10 at 07:23:39 I think I played quite well. I read the other board and people (koops) seemed to think that I didn't understand my role. lol. I fully understood my role, everything i wrote was ambiguous, vague and misleading on purpose. I hinted that there was complexity in my role by suggesting that i couldn't talk to much about it. I also insinuated that i was bulletproof for most of the match and seems like they didn't know for sure :D The bullet proof rolecall was quite cunning and kept me in the game up to the end. Near the end I wanted to be scanned so that they would kill me, however someone blocked the scan... muppet. If you re-read my posts i'm baiting the mafia to scan me, check me, check me, check me i was saying as night fell but they (credit where its due) were smart. So it was a trade off, claim bullet proof for most of the game but also bring in the scanning element. I then brought in the bullshit about 2nd scans etc so that people if they had scanned me before (mafia might assume town had scanned me or that they'd had a scan blocked) would scan me again and die. There wasn't any scanners left though. Jack was mvp for me. He played well, so did Moe imo but at the end he flopped. Dwight also needed to show more when it was critical. |
Title: Re: Mafia Gameover Post by Honko on 05/04/10 at 07:24:23 Oh yeah. If you want to play faster-paced games of mafia anytime anywhere, go to irc.wrvids.com. I wrote a bot that hosts games for you. You just need 5+ people to play. |
Title: Re: Mafia Gameover Post by Camster on 05/04/10 at 07:27:41 It was a good game. Wish I had one more day, I had so many mafia pegged by the end of my last day. |
Title: Re: Mafia Gameover Post by IsThatAGoodTime on 05/04/10 at 07:28:35 Tom...Dwight has been missing from the online world for 2 weeks. Did you even read Jack's roleclaim? He claimed to have jailed you, why didn't you realize as soon as you saw that that he would have DIED if he had jailed you. You should have instantly voted for Jack and ended the game. |
Title: Re: Mafia Gameover Post by The Gaff on 05/04/10 at 07:32:57 because i thought he could've been roleblocked. |
Title: Re: Mafia Gameover Post by IsThatAGoodTime on 05/04/10 at 07:34:27 By who? Creepy Crawly, Town Vanilla? Both sides already lost a "Paralyzer" and a Roleblocker, plus town lost their Jack. What other blocking role is there? |
Title: Re: Mafia Gameover Post by Honko on 05/04/10 at 07:38:05 Scum MVP was either Jack or Fred. They both did an excellent job of messing up Town. Matthew played good at the beginning of the game. He had me fooled on Day 2. If I was alive on Day 3 he would have been toast though. Moe played good but he was left in the hopeless situation of "everyone left in this game is a retard and/or mafia." He knew what was going on but couldn't keep people active or get them to listen to reason at the end. Silencers are dumb and I regret ever using one in a game. They encourage bad play and just make the game less fun. There were also way too many bulletproofs and way too many killing roles, and no those do not balance each other out. So yeah not a fan of the anonymous forum, not a fan of a lot of the roles, and not a fan of big 20+ player games where we have so many inactives and so many bad players. But in the end mafia is mafia, I enjoyed it while I was in. Thanks for hosting Koopz. |
Title: Re: Mafia Gameover Post by Matt V on 05/04/10 at 08:17:09 I liked the separate forums, just not the anonymity. Idk what was wrong with my playing though. And I swear to god if you fuckers kill me day 1 next time I'll rape you all. |
Title: Re: Mafia Gameover Post by IsThatAGoodTime on 05/04/10 at 08:21:13 You didn't even make it past day 1 ::) whoops haha. Maybe you're just the new Flo. |
Title: Re: Mafia Gameover Post by Matt V on 05/04/10 at 08:22:26 I know, I'm just trying to get why mafia chose me. ...oh wait Ican go read the mafia board now. :-[ EDIT: It was because of Tyler, Idk why I stuck out in his mind but I never even was a thoguht before he posted. D: |

Thanks Koopz. :) That's too bad Honko got killed on first night. We would have had more chances to win. Quote:
I don't think Moe played that well... Ok, he was helping by rereading all posts but most of the time, his votes were wrong. Sword played well imo, just like Alvaro and Couscous. ^^ Chris and I got lucky to lynch both during the day and that they finally appeared mafia... Mostly for Alvaro (Michael) imo. He hadn't done so many mistakes in the game but we stayed on our plan to lynch Michael if Couscous was mafia. And we were right. That's why I think Sword might have been a bit scared of me and Kevin after that so he prefered to kill me that night. Then, kill Kevin the next night... |

You're a moron. I didn't know they were townies. I picked two guys who I thought might be mafia, so that way they'd get killed (instead of wasting my role saying, yeah I'm seer but both my peeks got killed.) That way, if I was right, I would have done the town a big favor. But I was wrong. We're all wrong in mafia games. I'm not even counting this one for my record because it was so shit. |

Title: Re: Mafia Gameover Post by Goose on 05/04/10 at 09:17:29 also, why does MVT have a Stanley Cup Playoffs avatar? What team are you cheering for? |

Title: Re: Mafia Gameover Post by Camster on 05/04/10 at 09:21:32 For anyone who does the next mafia game: I want a game with very little power roles. They always seem to be a major deciding factor. |

If you die and everyone learns you were Cop, they're going to take this as the two people you scanned...you can't say you weren't trying to just goof off here. |

Probably a few less people overall, and definitely less power roles. |

Title: Re: Mafia Gameover Post by Goose on 05/04/10 at 09:24:02 I WASNT TRYING TO GOOF OFF I was hoping that, even though I DIDNT scan him Jim was actually mafia and he would get lynched. |

Title: Re: Mafia Gameover Post by Sωοrd on 05/07/10 at 03:12:00 Want to thank everyone for the compliments. :D I think this game was definitely the best I've played so far. I know how Clay felt now, playing mafia twice in a row. It is really hard to play mafia :-[ Town were going about the right track with their powers but the daytime discussion just made it easy for the mafia to just idle and go about unnoticed. Town also helped us identify who was who so we could make kills based on that. After KoopZ's slight mistake with the Jim PM, Tyler pretty much gave up. After padz died, all of mafia stopped caring, stopped posting and thought it was over. I'm really surprised I was able to pull through but I do admit I spent alot of hours thinking through how I was going to live alone :P I personally think Cous (Chris) and Web (Stan) played well taking into account they had to play mafia on their first game. It is alot to ask someone and I think they did fairly well for a first time. Being a vanilla is actually a good thing because you have no power to lean back on and tend to make more discussion and have more motivation to make posts in the thread. I think future games should mostly be vanilla, because as people have said the result of these games tends to fall into the hands of night actions. I think Moe played very well. Ringo also played well, and Jim too (the day he was getting lynched specifically). Fred, Bob and Billy really screwed the town over with confusion, along with myself :D Surprised Larry bought my claim. Was hoping he would and I'm glad you did Tom :D Also Flo, for the record, I wasn't scared of you. (lololol) I couldn't kill Moe or Larry at night and I could choose from Dwight, Justin, Harry and Kevin for night kills. Dwight I could get lynched in the day, you and Justin spoke alot and I wanted to minimise thread activity for my gain. Kevin barely made posts and I had a hunch he'd agree with my case, hence why I left him alive. Want to thank padz for being the best scum buddy ever. He truely is a legit nigger with blonde heair. :D Thanks to Koopz and Scott for hosting / moderating. It was a fun game to play in :) <padz> this game is dildos 8-) |

Title: Re: Mafia Gameover Post by DarkMeta on 05/07/10 at 08:33:57 Sword, ok, that was a nice way of thinking... :P |
Title: Re: Mafia Gameover Post by Sportsguy001 on 05/07/10 at 10:17:26 I didn't give up Sword. I actually had a very long post of how i was Candy Kong town prostitute, but by the time i checked the board i was one vote short of being lynched so i abandoned it and voted for my self. |
