Title: Worth Buying?
Post by wildmushroom on 07/10/04 at 11:13:14

I know I might get a biased opnion asking this on the Super Circuit message board, but honestly, is this game worth buying? Is it addicting and fun like MKDD and MK64?

Yup, it's defintely worth buying. I finally bought a copy a few weeks ago and I've been hooked on it ever since. It's like a portable version of Mario Kart 64! I personally feel it's better than Double Dash but on par with both Mario Kart 64 and the original.

not unless you plan to do time trials or race against friends or even hook it up to the big screen.  i even have 2 copies :)

YES this game is worth buying,i think it is the best version D DASH,MK64 are ok but if you want driving style mksc is the one.D DASH the MT'S are to much you don't feel like your driving you are zig zagging from one side of the road to the other to pull out your blue boosts [you are never traveling in a straight line this is not racing its a joke]. MK64 is alot better, can not comment on smk because my one has not turned up yet but i have herd it is good.  MY FINAL WORD IF YOU HAVE THE MONEY BUY THE LOT WHOOOOOOOOOOOT!

look fellas with no site to play on the life span of the game is cut by about 75%

once you get all the trophies and shit and
land a  few good time  trials you get sick of that shit man

its worth renting

Yeah Jeff is right  , with no site if will get boring very quickly and nothing to keep you motivated. The only way to compare times is through the MB.But i've never played the game so don't know if its good or not but i just named a minor let down.

WR also can motivate.
In MC1 track, three months ago AFAIK the WR was 43"76, then someone got 43"43.
Now, Hirano video show us a (un)believable 43"18.
The game is old but each player want to be the #1.
I got my 43"58 during my holiday and i stopped playing. This time is great for me, since i'm totally unskilled.
Now i know what i've to do to pass the proven WR (43"43), but i also know it will cost me too many hours and i want to play more games on more platforms.

Anyway, yeah, the more community the more results, no doubt about.

You don't get bored trust me, I play it all the time, it's the only kart that you cna play when ever and where ever you want. I sit in the bog playing trying to beat a time trial or two ;). It's got all the courses you would want to race.

Wow, im happy to see another MC1 guy  ;)
Your flap it's close to mine, but i'm sure we are using the wrong strat.
If you want to see my flap video, here is it:

(in the video i run in 6.69, my PR is 6,60 but the strat it's the same).

it's mario kart portable!  of course it's worth buying!  time trials aside, it's freakin awesome fun in the purest form.  try to get 3 star ranking on every cup man.  unlock the nighttime screen.  then try it on the extra cups.  (which are the snes tracks, btw)

yes I have. The normal cups are verry easy to get the 3star rank but the classic cups are hard. especially lightning cup.

If you get 3 star on all normal cups you get a dark titel screen. If you get 3 star on every cup you get nothing :-/

i've gotten 3 stars on all the super circuit cups, and 3 stars on all 50cc extra.  but i gave up after that, because i was plagued with 3 ghosts in a row on the 3rd track of a difficult cup, costing me the three stars.  i believe i got 2 on it... but anyways, that greatly frustrated me and i quit.

the nighttime screen is awesome, btw.
