I think there has been an error.

Louis Nebout and David Taylor have both won awards. How can this be? They are both outside the top 20 and have hardly done anything of note. In my opinion awards should only be given to good players. Its easier to improve when your crap.

I hope this problem can be rectified in due course.

BTW you have been consistently recognized on the news board (which I guess isn't enough). And the mods are doing a great job; what Nebout and Taylor did isn't that easy and they deserve the awards ;):P

Bhoja should have got it.. did you see the controller he got his LC WR with? It has zero... nay, negative grip :o

(Edit: ok, he says it's got some grip. But there's no rubber on it! That's like using a golf club without the rubber handle).

lol, i dont think i should get it at all, I recon the people that should be getting these awards are people that jump like 30 places in the average finsh no matter if they jump from 70th to 40th, it still an achievment because they improve so much in very little time. Yeh i agree at the top its harder to move up the ranks but even still people jumping like 30 places on the average finish deserve it more :)

Nah, those Japanese karters probably told him some secret strategies and/or gave him a vid that he's not sharing, so how about giving the POW to the Japanese karters :)?

Hey seeing as someone brought this topic back up , i should have won POW one week as i made a improvement of (-2.2) and 5 WRs and became first that week in av.fin in one week , and i didnt get it Moritz and i havent complained once.

anyone with weaker prs can improve their rank much faster than someone with stronger prs. In that, I belive the people who run the MOTW should favor higher-ranked karters and not just who make the best improvement.

Yeh i agree to an extent. However you've got to encourage other karts how have made massive progress further down the field sometimes. Some people will never rival the "natural" karters & gamers like penev, grard.

As for the awards going to lower ranked players....I think it's good, especially if they improve a lot. I know that it's harder to improve at the top of the charts, but it's not ridiculously harder. If someone in the top 25 had had there current times 3 or 4 months ago they would have been in the top 5. So you have to take into account that it's also constantly getting harder for the lower ranked ppl aswell since all those times are getting better at a faster rate.

What if somebody doesn't send his times in for 4 weeks or more and then makes massive improvement from 100th to 40th. Does he deserve an award for that?

(Now somebody might say that it is easy to verify that he has been using 4 weeks for those times and not just particularly 1 week he posts them in, but I guess most of us know how easy it is to send in small fake improvements while your real times are better and then make a massive improvement.)

No, ppl that hoard their times shouldn't be given anything. For one, there's no way of knowing how long they've been hoarding for. And two, it's inconsiderate and disrespectful to others to hoard.

Right on Matt. I think people with worse ranks should be recognized in the news at least but not nesisarily (yes, a misspelled word, but my brain just froze up) get an award. This message would have been nice on the news:

"And David Lalo moves from 112th to 88th in just one week with the site!"

And no, I was NOT hoarding, my movement was the result of playing MKDD non-stop for 3 days to try and get in the top 100. Of course, I did a little better than that ;) ;D
