Post by DragonTeethAsia on 07/01/04 at 03:51:14 holy crap guys, I just got a great PR on Mario Circuit and I think it might also be a WR 1'29"245 !!!!!!!!! ;D 0-1-1 30'584 29'332 29'329 ;D I'm pretty proud of the consistency in those splits. This took me a very long time to get this low and I focused exclusively on this map on and off for about a month and then for the past week I have been playing it at just about every chance I can get. I decided on this course to focus on because I figured Mario Kart, Mario Circuit, This IS the main course. This is the Kentucky Derby racetrack of the Mario Kart world. The reason I have not submitted times to this site as I haven't had the game that long, only about a month and a half, I only learned about your site about week ago when I started playing a real lot, and my times for all the other courses are pretty bad. But I have played this course non-stop for about a week and this is the culmination. I know no one is going to believe this at first but I hope to get a video as soon as possible. However, I have no idea how to even begin to make a video or put it online so if someone could explain to me how to do it exactly then I'll try to get one asap. Also, I am going to try to make the rest of my times on the courses fairly decent (top 100) and I am going to keep ruthlessly playing Mario Circuit untill I get a sub-1'29"000. So I should be submitted to the site within the next week (by July 8th) How long I get a video online depends how easy it is and if I can figure it out if anyone wants to explain it. Sure you've been focusing on MC for the most part but still, your ability is obviously of the highest quality :D Would like to see this time proven obviously as would everyone else ;) |

If you even have a basic understanding of how modern electronics work you'll have no problem following these directions: 1. Acquire a VCR with RCA (white, yellow, red) inputs, a GameCube and a TV. 2. Plug the GameCube RCA outputs into the VCR RCA inputs. 3. Plug the VCR output (either RCA or Coaxial depending on what wires you have available and what your TV and VCR support... most modern TVs and VCRs have both sets) into the TV input. You should now be capable of taping your runs onto a VHS tape. When you begin to play you have to start free-taping your runs because Double Dash does not have an acceptable replay mechanism that can be used to tape and verify runs. So before you start a race press record on your VCR and attempt a run (repeat this until you capture a good run or your PR). Once you have an acceptable time on your tape you now have two options: Option 1: send your VHS tape via snail-mail to one of our proof moderators. We'll give you more info on how to send it if you choose this option. Option 2: acquire a TV capture card and hook it up to your PC. TV capture cards allow modern electronic devices with RCA/Coax video outputs (such as TVs, VCRs, camcorders and even video game consoles) to plug into them and display/capture the video stream onto your computer. Your next step would then be to plug your VCR into your capture card and capture your run onto your computer and encode it to a reasonable size (under 10 megs). We'll give you more info on the rest of the details if you choose this option. Welcome to the site and I hope you are telling the truth because your stay won't be as pleasant if you're not. As you might already know we enforce a rigorous proof regiment and if you claim to be a good karter you have to back it up with video proof or you will be removed from the rankings which has already happened to some people that thought they could put one over on us. 8) |

This method is possible with a tv-card or a simple video capture card, too. But of course you'll need a few gb of free space on your harddisk if you need more than one try to race a PR :-) |
