Title: Embarassing splits!?
Post by gingerscot on 06/28/04 at 12:04:22

Just interested to see if anyone is as inconsistant as me ::)
Yesterday for BC
best time  2.28.7
best splits 2.23.5!!!

And today for DDJ

   best time 1.51.0
                           best splts 1.48.2!!
Managed EVENTUALLY to get them down after ages but it's just embarassing really! :-[  Not my favourite courses & kept on getting squashed or fell off >:(

If anybody's got any worse please tell to make me fell better :D

Man, you're definitely not alone.

The first one that comes to mind is DKM where my best time is 1'50"2, but best  splits would give 1'48"7.

I think my average difference between best time and best split is about a sec. But it's good in a way, cuz I know I can still improve a lot. When the difference is nil, there's probably not much else I'll be able to do :(

I have to admit, it's a little upsetting sometimes now when I've got the splits to improve by over a sec but my best time is stuck within milliseconds of the next standard :( :o >:(

from what i remember

DKM : best time 1'47'5, best split 1'46'1
YC : best time 1'45'7, best split 1'44'0
DDJ : best time 1'47'1, best split 1'46'2
DC : best time 1'41'0, best split 1'40'1

as for the other tracks i don't have that much room for improvement. maybe 0.5 :(

LOL... don't even get me, a pathetic Advanced A, started ;D

DKM (MY BEST COURSE  :-[)   time is 1'53'9xx, best splits are 1'52'1xx.

DDD (MY ABSOLUTELY MOST PATHETIC COURSE >:()   time is 1'48'5xx, splits give me 1'44'6xx.

You can see I need to improve on DDD a ton, but I HATE that course and the last time I played on it was back in May :P

Got a 1'02"4xx IIRC on my 1st lap on a RR attempt today with no shrooms. Now, my best 3lap time is only 3'09''993. You do the math  ;)

I though my RR 3lap was bad Ian::) ;)  That's my best 1st lap aswell & i can do 3.06.2 & it's still crap :-[

;D I just can't handle the pressure of 3 mins of intense racing ;) Bowser's Castle is also a challenge but that's more of an obstacle-orientated challenge than RR  :-[

Ok, is anybody else have this problem???

On DDD my best splits are: 31'1-30'6-32'5 = 1'34"2 1-1-0, but best time is 1'35"4.

What's bothering me is that I don't even know if I had a good lap until the end of it. Sometimes I'll swear it was great, but then I look up at clock.....and surprise/sorry, please try again. :( >:(

LOL me: time:1'34"8
splits: 30"7 30"4 32"5 = 1'33"6!!!!

yeah...  32.9 30.5 30.5 = 1'33"9
my actual record is 1'34"9.

I have also had the problems with thinking I ran a good lap and finding out it sucked.  I think the reason for this is that it is hard to see that you've slowed down when you're in yellow sand.  There is a very fine line between cutting yellow for advantage and staying on white for advantage.  I don't think there are many people who could tell you for sure the best lines on this course yet.
