How come some times that were posted on the yahoo groups today have been updated on the site whereas my times posted a couple of days ago haven't? Surely the older times would be updated first ???

Sounds like a crack in the system. I suggest handing over everything to me, i will make sure its done, i'd sooner die than let this web site to to ruin.

This may by the first step towards bigger disasters.

No they're not. Take a look at the yahoo groups times from Tuesday and Wednesday. Looking at the player list I can see quite a few whose times have been missed:

milanbaros29782 aka Ian Morley (me)
Arnaud Gandillet
Francois Chu
Rob Ziegler
Jamie Morris

PS. These are just some of those players.

Looks like a fair number of posts have been missed for some reason :(

Don't know if that's all, haven't looked at every post from Tuesday/Wednesday. My post is 3542 (and now 3568 ) so that's all I'm concerned about. The others will have to notice themselves if their times haven't been updated ;)

Ok problem fixed the posts that where missed where 3539-3543.I just checked around Ians post forwards and backwards.So there should be no more missed posts hopefully.

Er...I don't think you understand. Read back through the last few posts ;) Myself and gingerscot posted a couple of days ago and for some reason the posts didn't appear on the yahoo boards. You said you'd approved all that were showing so we would presume our posts for some reason didn't show up your end. You ask us to repost so I did yesterday and that new post did show up having been approved by you. Then for some reason the oldest post is on the yahoo boards this morning (after my latest post). Not a big deal but it's a mystery to me why this occured :D Nothing to do with you sleeping ya know :P

Don't fool yourself I still "own" the page. You kinda have to understand how things work to get an insight of how updates are done and how often they can be done. Before the site changed... we were working with a system which required manual inputting of all the times into a database... a process that took quite a bit of work. Now, since Alex was kind enough to build it, we have a very dynamic SQL database and parsing system that allows updates to be done pretty much virtually on the fly with minimal effort by the updating staff. Now also factor in managing a team not only does site design, database maintenance and updating but also handles proof validations and several other tasks that go on behind the scenes coupled with having to handle domain and server issues and manage a messageboard with 400 users while trying to keep everyone happy... and let's see how you fare. You want my job? You can have it. ;)

Yeah of course the new updating system is quick and simply , otherwise i wouldnt be doing it , to many bad memorys from the last time sheet :o , it took a very long time trust me , everytime i updated each week there where 150-200 posts and it took around 2-3hrs , so yeah nice design Alex and i gr8 database you made. :)

Yeah it went to 5sets , ill tell u what happened :P , the score was 4-6 , 6-3 , 6-3 , 6-7(5-7) , 6-3 , in the 4th set i was 4-1 up so i got pissed off when it had to go to a 5th set as i was knackered , haha he said to me do i ever have no energy as he did a drop shot in the 5set and i got to it and i did a winner to.

Ok ill do what u asked there is 16posts i think.

Ok, just surprised how some were approved and some weren't. Surely it takes a split second to see if posts are spam or consist of actual times? (or is there a bit more to post approval than that? ;) ) At least I don't need to repost now :)

EDIT: I presume a site update on the main page is scheduled sometime soon also so perhaps that's what you're busy with ;D

No its not the update , i got stuff to do but not updating , and approving the e-mails is quick and easy , your emails were proberly not there the last time i approved them bcoz i always approve them all.

edit:Well Alex was gonna do it today but i offered to do it for him since he is busy but he didnt reply must have been busy with something , damn Alex playing computer games ;) Ill do it now might take a while since im on a slow computer at the moment.

So it had been a few days since the last update and I'm happy to say that now all those 25 e-mails have been approved and updated on the site thanks to yours truly. That's right - I'm now an updater ;D Monsieur Grard, it's MCT not MuscC ;) Mr Barnhart, a typo on your DDD flap? Monsieur Lavenant, your PB flap seems to have gone down by 4 secs+ ;) And finally Mr Dochney, it's MCT. Not major things but just makes things A LOT easier for us updaters if these errors aren't made 8)

PS. Don't think I've made any errors but if I have, my bad but it's my first time and all so I'm sure I can be excused just this once ;D
