Not that I don't plan on getter a lot better still. :)

But I think awards for some mid-ranked player (especailly the ones moving up quickly) would eventually help keep things competative near the top

jonathan got an award?! that must be a mistake surely ;)

We might reconsider that one.. maybe Tanney deserves it more than you  ;D

Problem.. what do we do about the awards we've missed? I don't mind assigning them randomly to myself, but maybe we should go back through some posts and give at least for the past month or two.

Tanney definitely deserves an award in the last couple weeks he's improved to 2nd in the world from like 6th.  Also, he's cut his ARR by like 1.8 :o

Maybe if you look at the oldies update news you can decide at least the POMs.

I think for the past POM awards. It could just be whoever(in the top 100) had the biggest improvement. ;D ;D

Dave Phaneuf cut something  like 50 on his ARR the past month or two. i think he derserves one.

"Past Month or two" - that could qualify for POM or POQ, it's not really a weekly thing.

Paul's still a candidate for POM, I guess, since his PRs are spread out over both weeks. POM should be harder to win than POW!

What someone who reach the first titan rank and got a god time?

I've wiped the "change" column (the last one, on the right side) in the AF/ARR/PRSR pages, since we're beginning a new POW week, so we want to see how much people improve this week. We'll probably be cleaning it up periodically, like that.

Sounds a good idea to me, i also think for player of the year, evryone should get to vote on say 4 or 5 people that you guys shortlist

Dave

Edit:  Just came back on & i'm player of the month!! ??? :o :o :o  Wasn't 1h ago ;)  Thanks for giving me the award ;D

Well if you don't want it, we could give it to Grard or Tory or Louis or Moritz... or Mark Jones :)

(we're not giving it to Milo because he was hoarding, which is bad mmmkay, and because we don't know if he set all his times in a week or in a month or in a year. So there.)

You're damn right I get the award... for coolest person ever.  8) 8) 8)

The voting for player of the year is a very bad idea , bcoz lots of plp hate Moritz and arent going to vote for him and that won't be fair on him.

Perhaps how someone acts should be taken into consideration. And just bcoz Moritz is childish, doesn't mean that we would be the same when voting.....if he was really the best I would vote for him; if not for him, for the integrity of the site.

Post by Matt B on 07/25/04 at 09:43:37

Ok, I made that last part up.....I do think character should be part of the decission ;D

P.S. This is my 500th post, now I'm King Matt :o

Title: Re: Awards
Post by Ptan on 07/25/04 at 09:46:05

I would vote for Moritz if he was the best that year , but i think other plp would'nt.

Title: Re: Awards
Post by Ptan on 07/25/04 at 10:10:25

True only the updaters take notice in plp's progress they have to , to write the news  :)

Title: Re: Awards
Post by Matt B on 07/25/04 at 10:35:29

Well it would be pretty easy this year, since it's the first year it's been out. Only the final results will be all that matters ;)

And there can be little blurbs outlining why each of the players is nominated.

Jamie Morris has got to be a contender for player of the week this time around, some fine times today!  :o
