News Update:
February 18th, 2010
Yet another stunning barrier breaker from the Frenchie on fire, Matthias Boucher...years after RR, the DP2 1'27 barrier has finally fallen with Matthias' amazing 1'26"98 WR!
February 10th, 2010
A small miracle from Florent Lecoanet today, as the first platform-jump he ever landed Non-NBT stylee on GV2 immediately yielded a WR for him at 12"00. Shame he just fell short of that barrier though...
January 17th, 2010
All the work of Gerard Roodhorst on CI1 reached its pinnacle in an epic 11"62 flap WR today, blowing Matthias' recent lap out of the water.
January 12th, 2010
Florent Lecoanet, the master of all things VL1, struck back with force on the 5-lap, regaining the WR from Matthias with a nice 50"36 effort.
January 4th, 2010
The second WR of the year is as historical as the first, as it sees one of the two remaining prehistorical Sami WR's beaten! Matthias Boucher maxes out on CI1 flap to reach an 11"64, beating the 11"65 mark from 2003 and leaving Sami with only his 2002 GV1 flap left.
January 3rd, 2010
Matthias Boucher delivers a scintillating first WR of the year as he squeezes past that impossible barrier on CI1 with a 58"98 stroke of genius!
December 29th, 2009
VL1 has a new challenger in town as Matthias Boucher drives his second WR in a month, beating Florent's 5-lap with a consistent 50"60 effort.
December 14th, 2009
A very interesting chain of events lead to the same WR being driven twice on the same day by two different people, which is highly remarkable considering we've only seen 2 WR's in the entire year before today...Anyway, it's Gerard Roodhorst who started the carnage with his 59"10 CI1 5-lap and Matthias Boucher getting a 59"10** of his own in a direct reaction a few hours after.
September 15th, 2009
William Jonas marks his return to the SMK scene with a new flap WR at the hotly contested KB1. After a very extensive effort he managed to edge out on Florent's lap and land a 9"52 there.
March 23rd, 2009
A monumental barrier breaking performance from Sebastian Stellmacher delivered the first WR of the year today. He attempted the 5/5 around the lake strategy at CI2 and though he did not make a 100% clean pass on all laps, it was more than enough to take the course to a new level with his 1'09"63!
October 26st, 2008
The long awaited return of Pierre L'Hoëst didn't come without WR's, obviously. He hit a controversial Non NBT one as well, controversial, because Simon claimed years ago he wanted to see blood if anyone ever attempted to beat the GV2 PAL 5-lap with the aid of platform-jumping. Pierre did so, ironically as he was trying NBT and his boost failed, and finished a 1/5 race of 1'02"18.
July 21st, 2008
A busy period concerning French Non NBT WR's, as Florent Lecoanet also takes his share of the cake. The master of the slides played, you've guessed it, KB1. Perhaps anticipating Sebastian Stellmacher's return to SMK, and KB1 in particular, Florent decided to try and lower his 5-lap a bit more and succeeded that with a nice 49"43.
July 19th, 2008
Pierre L'Hoëst came back to BC1 to continue an old feud between Armin and him. People who already thought the flap was maxed at the 17"65 triple tie better think again, because he somehow managed to sub it to 17"63! Will the 5-lap follow?
July 18th, 2008
The return of Matthias Boucher to DP1 can't go without WRs being broken. He lowered his 5-lap down a mini barrier to 1'15"54 and surprisingly managed to tie the Dutch duo at the flap extreme of 14"94**.
April 17th, 2008
A day later and the BC2 flap is in relatively new territories. Karel van Duijvenboden drove a solid looking 20"02 flap, even close to a new barrier...
April 16th, 2008
Another WR by the rampant #2 contender Sebastian Stellmacher as he tied Karel's 20"10** flap at BC2. This time however, Karel van Duijvenboden did reply and drove a 20"08 shortly after.
April 9th, 2008
A legendary WR on KB2 5-lap from it's new dominator Sebastian Stellmacher. He destroyed the GOD time AND the 1'01 barrier with a superb 1'00"67, containing a coma inducing 11"66 final lap!
April 5th, 2008
It looks like Sebastian Stellmacher wants the GOD time at KB2 and why not try breaking the 1'01 barrier while he's at it? His latest result: 1'01"17, with pretty solid laps all-round.
March 31st, 2008
After losing his KB1 domination completely, Sebastian Stellmacher now reached domination on the other beach course, KB2. With a nice weedcutting run of 1'01"33 he took over the 5-lap WR from Gerard too now.
March 29th, 2008
Sebastian Stellmacher broke the Dutch domination at Special Cup by taking Gerard's flap WR on KB2 away with a nice improvement to 11"60.
March 13th, 2008
Pierre L'Hoëst drove his first Non NBT WR of the year in the third month. He took over Karel's BC3 5-lap WR and got frustratingly close to the 1'29s with his superb 1'30"02 run.
February 4th, 2008
Florent Lecoanet totally dominates KB1 in Non NBT after today (at least for PAL) as he broke out of the triple tie for flap with his latest 9"53 effort.
January 30th, 2008
The end of January 2008 proved to a very fruitful period for Non NBT WR's, as suddenly they're being driven left, right and centre. This time it's Dutch Champion Karel van Duijvenboden driving a barrier breaking WR for BC2 5-lap of 1'41"94, which is also a new GOD time reached for the site.
January 29th, 2008
After years of domination by Sebastian Stellmacher, KB1 finally sees the light of a new dominator. His name: Florent Lecoanet, his time: a very strong 49"55 with flawless laps all race!
January 28th, 2008
After BC1 flap we now have a second triple tied WR thanks to slides master Florent Lecoanet. He managed to reach the same time as Stellmacher and Jonas at KB1 of 9"55**.
January 27th, 2008
The first WR of the new year is delivered by Sebastian Stellmacher. Surprisingly he managed to beat Pierre's already sick CI2 flap WR to bring it down a notch to 13"41.
December 25th, 2007
A Christmas day WR by Matthias Boucher. He was close to William's CI1 5-lap WR before, but after trying again during this holidays he finally managed to pull out a 59"20** tie.
November 10th, 2007
A first time appearance on the Non NBT WR charts of SMK's overall champion Florent Lecoanet. He improved the 5-lap WR on his favourite course VL1 with two hundreths, taking the WR away from Pierre to bring it to a time of 50"88.
October 16th, 2007
In the midst of his NBT attack, Pierre L'Hoëst found the time to enjoy a good old fashioned Non NBT session on GV2. He improved his already quite maxed (for a 0 PJ race) 5-lap WR there by two hundreths to 1'02"20.
September 17th, 2007
Karel van Duijvenboden didn't accept the fact he missed out on having a video to show off his VL2 antics and tried to complete another 5/5 IJ race...Normally that'd take ages again, but in fact it was done within 24 hours; moreover he slightly improved on his effort of a day earlier, by being more consistent, at 48"41.
September 16th, 2007
A shocking 0"5 WR cut on VL2 today, as Karel van Duijvenboden landed his second ever 5/5 IJ race on the course. Containing one crazy 9"46 middle lap and solid laps all-round, his race resulted in a 48"43! Overshadowing this performance was the fact he wasn't able to get a video of the race though (accidental SNES reset incident, doh!).
September 5th, 2007
Karel van Duijvenboden made a surprising return to RR, fuelled by his TT session with Geoffrey Label on this course during the CDF. Thanks to a ridiculously sharp and risky 17"27 final lap he brought the WR to the next level. With his new 1'26"88 he re-establishes the domination he once had on this course.
August 30th, 2007
A shocking performance of Pierre L'Hoëst who became the second man to succeed in a 5/5 all island-jump plus NTSC jump race on VL2 PAL! With an amazing 9"49 final lap he secured a barrier breaking 48"93 WR!
July 28th, 2007
It's Matthias Boucher getting his second WR in a row as he tackles Karel's BC2 5-lap with a slightly faster 1'42"32 race.
July 14th, 2007
Matthias Boucher will never give up on DP1 I guess. He made his umpteenth comeback on the course he loves so much and got ahead of MJ once again. His new WR stands at 1'15"60, only just faster then the old one.
July 12th, 2007
The first new WR after the big meet in Norway, by one of it's participants, Gerard Roodhorst. He returned to his all-time favourite course, GV3, and finally managed to break that hard-as-nails 1'15 barrier there. A perfect chrono for it too, at 1'14"98! This race contained a near WR 2nd lap, as well as a nervy finisher.
April 26th, 2007
Gerard Roodhorst pursued DP2 glory and tied MJ's flap WR at 17"17 today, very impressive indeed. Gerard now holds all the DP flap WR's, though two of those are ties with MJ.
April 20th, 2007
The VL1 streak of Pierre L'Hoëst saw it's finale today, as after weeks of work he obtained the end result that he wanted. That's right, he did his 'Jamie White' and broke the 51 barrier with a crashless 50"90 race. Well not completely crashless, as it did contain a wallhit, however it was a minor sideways one, so it didn't matter much in the end.
April 19th, 2007:
Another WR from Pierre L'Hoëst on VL1 as he's really chaining them together there lately. He moved his 5-lap very close to the 50s in one go, when he finished a 51"06 race, for the first time aided with a CPU ghost. Pierre managed to avoid all the blocks in this one, but it doesn't look like he'll stop the course before he gets a sub 51 first...
April 16th, 2007:
Still more from Pierre L'Hoëst at VL1 flap: Using a clever new strat for the last corner slide (he refrains from using the usual jump-slide and uses a direct slide instead), he improved his flap to an incredible 9"71!
April 13th, 2007:
A historical achievement by Matthias Boucher today, as he's the one to take down MJ on DP2, a course that has been completely dominated by the Dutchman for years. Matthias enjoyed an amazing race, that only had one 'lesser' lap in it. His finishing time of 1'27"12 beats MJ's one by 0"12. Perhaps this will spark more action?
April 12th, 2007:
Pierre L'Hoëst continued to work on VL1 and nailed the flap WR down even more; His latest best effort stands at 9"75, which should be hard to beat now as it's over a tenth faster than the rest already.
April 8th, 2007:
Karel van Duijvenboden picked up on the fact that his VL2 big island-jump flap of a week ago had a quite far from perfect last corner, so he tried to add all the pieces together once more. In a strong flap attempt everything fell into place and the WR was destroyed by 0"12 to a stupifying 8"82!!
April 7th, 2007:
Well, today Karel van Duijvenboden did break the 1'39 barrier that he was after on MC4. Getting more and more consistent with the pipejumps, his efforts paid off when he finally drove a race that exclusively contained sub 20 laps (including the opener); this resulted in a 1'38"94.
April 6th, 2007:
Karel van Duijvenboden played MC4 today and improved both of his WR's. First of, he put his flap down to 19"56, with some good cornering in those hairpins and of course the double pipejump at the start. Then he grabbed 5-lap by the horns and managed a 10/10 PJ race. His finishing time of 1'39"08 fell a little short for the barrier that he's after though.
April 3rd, 2007:
Pierre L'Hoëst didn't hesitate to reply to Karel's attack on VL1 and managed to win it back with over half a second to spare. His 51"62 is a barrier breaker and contained a very impressive 10"34 opener! Pierre also removed Guillaume Bertrand from the WR page with his blindingly fast 9"79 flap on the same course.
April 2nd, 2007:
Karel van Duijvenboden is heating up the ice, as after taking on VL2 he decided to try VL1 next. With an opener devoted to breaking important blocks he paved the way for fast middle laps that would eventually lead to a 52"19; this was helped also with the assistence of a CPU ghost (to break one important block after lap 1).
March 29th, 2007:
Karel van Duijvenboden turns on the style on VL2 as he became the first karter to ever break below 9 seconds on a PAL TT flap today! His new flap WR is a 0"2 cut on the previous one and stands at a very low 8"94!
March 26th, 2007:
Over the years Michael Jongerius has refused to give up the Non NBT WR's on DP1, despite many attacks. As the DP1 battle continues, he has made another comeback, perhaps even against the odds this time, seeing Gerard's new lap is so strong. Mike managed to tie the 14"94** though, and not only that, he also took the 5-lap WR back: with the aid of an amazing opener he got it down to 1'15"62.
March 23rd, 2007:
After amazing perseverence, DP specialist Gerard Roodhorst has finally overthrown the flap WR at DP1. He did so with a massive blow as well and put the WR 0"03 down to 14"94! I strongly wonder if this will ever be beaten again...
March 16th, 2007:
In the aftermath of the Fun Cup all the four participants in the DP1 Non NBT challenge continued to play the course when they got home. Out of those, Matthias Boucher is the most successful one so far. To do a great last corner on DP1 consistently is very hard, but it poses no problem to Matthias, seeing his sickeningly flat 1'15"67 race! He also managed to tie MJ's 14"97** flap, using some super sharpness earlier.
March 10th, 2007:
A live WR at the excellent Fun Cup in Paris today as the robotic Michael Jongerius gives his beloved DP2 a few goes there for the people watching. At first he tied the WR, but then he exceeded himself once more and drove a superb 17"17!
March 9th, 2007:
A monumental performance on VL2 by Karel van Duijvenboden today: He became the first man to finish the nearly impossible big island-jump flap on a PAL system and with that he improved the WR to 9"14!
February 20th, 2007:
Once more, Matthias Boucher returned to his favourite course DP1. 2007 starts well for him as he managed to get ahead of MJ again on this course, via a new WR of 1'15"69!
January 12th, 2007:
Karel van Duijvenboden improved the VL2 flap to 9"23 today, but is somehow hoping for more as he didn't get a replay.
January 11th, 2007:
A very surprising and altogether monstrous lap by Julien Holmière on VL2 resulted into a new WR of 9"25! Karel van Duijvenboden tried to react to this as soon as he could and tied the 9"25** several hours after.
December 30th, 2006:
Once again Matthias Boucher returns to the Non NBT WR page via a DP course. This time he spectacularly lowered his DP2 5-lap with several tenths and ended up tie-ing MJ's 1'27"24**.
November 1st, 2006:
As if his previous 5-lap didn't have a big enough lead, Sebastian Stellmacher once again chopped a lot of his own WR at KB1. Standing at a stunningly consistent and downright crazy 49"71, this WR is now one of the most isolated ones from the rest of the competition.
October 31st, 2006:
Sebastian Stellmacher managed to tie William's KB1 flap as soon as he returned to SMK. With this 9"55** of his own, he now has full dominance (bar a tie I guess) at this course again.
October 22nd, 2006:
Michael Jongerius is not finished with SMK yet as he continues his campaign to take back WR's that were once his in the first place. This time he regained his supremacy at DP1, settling with a superb 14"97 flap and shortly afterwards also improving the 5-lap to bring that to a 1'15"71.
October 13rd, 2006:
A double WR on GV3 today by it's specialist, Dutch veteran Gerard Roodhorst. After getting an insane 15"08 opener the new flap WR turned out to be inevitable. With one of the sharpest platform-bits you'll ever see he reached a magnificent 14"82! The 5-lap took a lot more effort as he wasn't able to finish many. In the end he decided to use a slightly safer approach and that paid off fully: His new 1'15"08 WR is one of the most consistent WR's on the site.
October 7th, 2006:
Apparently Michael Jongerius finds driving 18"21s at MC3 easy as his latest WR improvement has three of those again, just like his previous WR. This new WR was just as consistent as the one of two days ago, but 0"02 faster at 1'31"30.
October 5th, 2006:
Michael Jongerius is putting MC3 further and further away from the rest, displaying the potential that most of us already knew he possesses. This time the WR went to an uber consistent 1'31"32. He still wanted to improve the flap as well and managed that too when he got a sick 18"11 lap in the end! This might even be more impressive than his crazy NTSC equivalent for this flap...
October 4th, 2006:
A superb comeback of Michael Jongerius at MC3, where he lost his WR's not even a week ago. He implimented the same PJ that Pierre uses and instantly got the flap WR back with 18"13. After that he landed an incredible 5-lap WR of 1'31"36, with a competition annihilating WR tie final lap of 18"13!!
September 30th, 2006:
A rare, live witnessed by a fellow karter, WR today. William Jonas was demo-ing some KB1 in front of RR star Geoffrey Label when he hit a stupifying 9"55 flap WR! This record sure has gone way lower than most people dared to expect...
September 29th, 2006:
Pierre L'Hoëst completed his coupe at MC3 with a double Non NBT WR today. He's the first to impliment pipejumps into the WR's at this course, doing the one before last corner each lap. He got the WR's down to 1'31"65 and a very tight 18"15.
September 13rd, 2006:
Two days later Sebastian Stellmacher did break the barrier, by the tiniest of margins too. The German slide master just couldn't stop and delivered a crazy 49"98!
September 11th, 2006:
Alarmed by William's flap WR at KB1, Sebastian Stellmacher returned to the course he loves most in order to take his flap back. However he drove a mindblowing 50"00 5-lap instead! Painfully close to that barrier and a very great WR indeed.
September 5th, 2006:
William Jonas ended a long WR-less period (as far as PAL Non NBT WR's are concerned) by improving a flap with the minimal amount of 0"01. So far Sebastian Stellmacher had complete control over KB1, but he lost his domination when William recorded a lap of 9"58.
July 20th, 2006:
With the karting equivalent of snapping his fingers (ok maybe I'm exaggerating a little, but I'm sure it didn't take him as long as it would for others) Michael Jongerius took one of the most wanted and therefore one of the most maxed WR's in the karting scene. The MC1 Non NBT 5-lap now stands at 1'00"83, with non of the laps in it being slower than 12"12!
May 27th, 2006:
The first WR with all 10 PJ's on MC4 with a time of 1'39"16, delivered by Karel van Duijvenboden. This is only two hundreths faster than Armin's previous WR, which was a pipejump-less effort.
May 15th, 2006:
Not a good month so far for the two old SMK masters Sami and MJ as MJ loses a WR again too. Matthias Boucher was at it again on his favourite DP1 and untied the 5-lap to bring it to 1'15"77.
May 12th, 2006:
Sami's WR's are falling like rain lately, as Gerard Roodhorst overtakes his MC2 5-lap with a superb 1'15"79. Sami's time appeared to be untouchable for a long time, but with this one gone now too he only has three WR's left (all flaps). Gerard finished his solid race with a blinding 14"80 twist lap.
May 10th, 2006:
A spectacular new entry for the WR page with French veteran Guillaume Bertrand making a surprise return to SMK! Guillaume, who is currently not ranked yet, took the VL1 flap and with a mindblowing 3rd corner slide especially, he managed to bring it down to 9"85!
May 3rd, 2006:
Pierre L'Hoëst didn't drive a Non NBT WR for quite sometime, but on his birthday he picked quite a WR to beat: Sami's GV1 5-lap was broken with Pierre's first 3/5 platform-jump race! The new time is 1'04"45 and Pierre became the fourth karter to manage a 3/5 on PAL with that.
May 1st, 2006:
The DP3 tie didn't have a long live expectancy with Gerard Roodhorst still trying to improve it. He managed to break out of it with a 1'19"36, that contained two 15"7x laps.
April 20th, 2006:
A historical tie was made this evening as the two Dutch DP3 gladiators both drove the same WR time in the same hour! First Michael Jongerius drove his 1'19"48**, then Gerard Roodhorst got motivated and got himself a 1'19"48** of his own!
April 20th, 2006:
Pr-ing in two consecutive laps, Karel van Duijvenboden beat the MC4 flap WR by a very tiny margin to 19"59, done with some insane pipejumps at the start of the lap.
April 20th, 2006:
Yet again more action on DP3. Gerard Roodhorst truly outshone himself by delivering one of the best laps in his SMK career. His new DP3 flap stands at an all-time low of 15"62! Losing a lot of WR's lately, Gerard's DP3 rival Michael Jongerius took it upon himself to improve his 5-lap at this course and realized a small cut to 1'19"58.
April 18th, 2006:
Gerard Roodhorst got back, what in his view belongs to him. The never ending DP3 battle continues as he edged ahead of the flap again with a 15"66.
April 14th, 2006:
Against all odds a monumental race with all Island Jumps and the NTSC jump for each lap was finished by Karel van Duijvenboden. He even got close to the 49 barrier with his 49"05! Matthias Boucher returned to the WR page by playing his best course DP1 again. He's the first man to go sub 15 on DP1 and broke the almost impossible barrier with his 14"98 middle lap! After that it wasn't that hard for him to tie MJ's 1'15"83** 5-lap.
April 4th, 2006:
Despite being already very strong, the DP3 flap was lowered again. Michael Jongerius inches ahead of it with a 15"67, that contained an insane last corner.
March 30th, 2006:
Two Dutchie WR's today. First we have Michael Jongerius doing what he does best: driving extremely flat races. No real stand out laps in this one, but there didn't need to be for this 1'19"65, still on DP3. Then Karel van Duijvenboden played VL2 again and succeeded into finishing a 3/5 all Island Jump race. With that he retakes the WR from Julien and brings it to 49"61.
March 18th, 2006:
Looks like we have a Dutch battle here: Gerard Roodhorst retakes DP3 with a WR that he isn't completely satisfied with. The new time is just a fraction faster at 1'19"77.
March 15th, 2006:
That kart meet-up must have been inspiring as far as DP3 is concerned as Michael Jongerius also makes a return to the course. His first sub 1'20 there is a new WR of 1'19"79.
March 12th, 2006:
A WR driven live at a kart meet-up: Gerard Roodhorst delivers the goods and lowers his DP3 flap significantly to 15"68.
March 3rd, 2006:
Sebastian Stellmacher completes his three day string of WR improvements at KB1 by improving his 5-lap again. Already having a massive lead before that, he now drove a 50"44, which extends his lead over the second best to more than a full second!
March 2nd, 2006:
Now Sebastian Stellmacher is really going crazy on KB1 as he pushes the flap into completely unknown territory by driving a 09"59! The WR lead he has for this flap is massive now, especially for such a short course.
March 1st, 2006:
This time it's the 5-lap's turn to be improved at KB1, as Sebastian Stellmacher makes quite a cut to 50"72. Still one middle lap that wasn't below 10 seconds, so maybe more to follow here.
February 27th, 2006:
Sebastian Stellmacher returned to SMK and played the course he loves most. KB1 that is and he slightly improved the flap that was already his to 09"65.
February 25th, 2006:
Karel van Duijvenboden got one of the most shocking WR's of the year so far as he literally blasted the VL2 flap into oblivion. He was aiming to get a 9"3x, but probably surprised himself the most of all, by destroying his former WR with the amount of 0"14 to bring it to a 09"27!
February 24th, 2006:
The VL2 battle continues a day later, with Julien Holmière indeed getting a sub 50 of his own. Getting all the island-jumps and 3/5 of the NTSC ones he beats the WR with a crazy 49"82! Meanwhile Karel van Duijvenboden didn't feel his flap was safe enough now and took it down a notch to 09"41.
February 23rd, 2006:
After working on the island-jump strategy for a considerate amount of time, Julien Holmière reaped the rewards by beating the VL2 WR with a 5/5 race of 50"48. This is Julien's first ever Non NBT WR! But Karel van Duijvenboden immediately took it to another level by adding NTSC jumps to the mix. Using two of those he very narrowly broke the 50 seconds barrier with a 49"98! This is the first sub 50 race in Non NBT SMK (PAL version) and there could be a second one on the horizon as Julien doesn't look like giving up just yet...
February 22nd, 2006:
Another stunning 5-lap WR, albeit a WR tie. Karel van Duijvenboden became the second guy to pass that impossible 1'27 barrier on RR and tied Pierre's record of 1'26"96**. It's amazing to see that two guys were both obsessed enough to reach such an extreme level on the same course.
February 15th, 2006:
Armin Huber must have felt quite alarmed about the fact that both of the other two sub 1'29 BC1 players, Pierre and Karel, are playing the course at the same time. This lead to what is arguably one of the sickest WR's ever driven in SMK: with amazingly flat laps that were all pretty much at WR flap level (give it a few hundreths at the most) he got a time of 1'28"71! Indeed a massive improvement of 0"08 on a course that was already that maxed...
February 11th, 2006:
After playing around with straightboosts, Karel van Duijvenboden also felt the urge to try BC1 Non NBT again. With doing that he completed his BC Non NBT flap trilogy, as he tied the 17"65** there, creating a triple tie situation with Pierre and Armin. Could it be that three guys hit perfection at the same course or can it still be improved?
February 2nd, 2006:
One day later and another course falls at the mercy of Armin Huber's insane consistency. He broke a mythical WR of Sami that he has held strong for a very long time. The man also known as "Deluxe" brings the MC4 5-lap down to 1'39"18, which is like Sami's ancient WR, also done without pipejumps.
February 1st, 2006:
This is something we really got used to over the years: Armin Huber driving a WR on BC1. Once again he returned to his stronghold and he always finds a way to improve somehow. This time with the tiniest amount possible, as he brought the 5-lap to 1'28"77.
January 31th, 2006:
Another Dutchie getting a WR in January as Karel van Duijvenboden drives his first Non NBT WR in over a month. He finally made a comeback at BC3, one of his old favourites, getting a superb 1'30"18 as a final result.
January 27th, 2006:
So maybe this will be the end of this month's MC4 flap saga? Gerard Roodhorst is getting really strong with the pipejumping now as he drove a flap of...get this...19"60!!
January 24th, 2006:
Again Gerard Roodhorst shows good fighting spirit by also making a comeback at MC4 flap. He tied Armin's flap as well now and got a 19"64 of his own.
January 20th, 2006:
Pierre L'Hoëst made a surprise return to Non NBT competition after being completely consumed by the Dark Side for quite a while now...Pierre somewhat surprisingly ended Gerard's reign at GV3 by improving the 5-lap WR to 1'15"12.
January 12th, 2006:
Despite not having a lot of time to kart, Gerard Roodhorst fought back on MC2 to reach a WR tie with MJ of 14"67.
January 8th, 2006:
One day later both of Gerard's MC WR's are broken as Armin Huber drove a spectacular MC4 flap of 19"64, using one pipejump. Before that, on the same day, he already improved the WR by 0"01 to 19"67; a lap that was stunningly done without pipejumping at all!
January 7th, 2006:
Gerard's WR's didn't go unnoticed as his fellow Dutch karter Michael Jongerius returned to SMK and MC2 in particular, to defend his honour on this course. At first he wasn't hitting much, but somehow he still managed to break the record with a 14"67.
January 4th, 2006:
Gerard Roodhorst is rocking on the MC flaps as out of the blue he managed to tie the record on MC4 with a 19"68**, done with the aid of pipejumping. Finally someone is challenging Sami's records on this course; WR's that appeared to be out of everyones reach for a very long time!
January 2nd, 2006:
Gerard Roodhorst gets the first WR of the new year as his persistance to keep trying MC2 flaps finally pays off. After getting a lot of 14"7x laps, he got it down to 14"69.
December 31th, 2005:
At the last day of the year 2005, Pierre L'Hoëst took the opportunity to write major SMK history. That's right, he became the first karter to break what was long seen as one of the most unimaginable barriers that the game offered. He indeed went sub 1'27 on RR, with one of his first opportunities to do so as well, ending an epic chase with a fabulous 1'26"96!
December 30th, 2005:
A shocking turn of the tables as not Karel, but Pierre L'Hoëst is moving into position to take down the big RR barrier first! After weeks of hard work he managed to edge ahead of the previous 5-lap WR with a stunning 1'27"02. Will the barrier be broken before the end of 2005 and if so, who will it be?
December 22th, 2005:
Three WR's in as many days as Karel van Duijvenboden appears to be on fire at the end of the year. He got frustratingly close to one of his ultimate SMK goals, which is sub 1'27 at RR. The time he got was 1'27"04.
December 21th, 2005:
Karel van Duijvenboden is still doing all the talking as far as WR's are concerned, this time he regained the BC2 flap WR. After doing a crazy 20"37 opener on the LAN party, he continued a few days later to try and get a lap similar to that opener. The result: a 20"10 flap.
December 20th, 2005:
Yet again Karel van Duijvenboden was drawn back to RR, this time to improve his flap. He succeeded and brought it to a virtually flawless 17"25.
December 13th, 2005:
With both William Jonas and Pierre L'Hoëst having WR ambitions on RR, Karel van Duijvenboden felt the time had come to return to one of his favourite courses. It didn't take him long to improve it a little to 1'27"08, but of course the 1'27 barrier is what he's after...
December 12th, 2005:
While Karel van Duijvenboden returned to MC1 for some NBT driving, his fingers got tired and he tried some Non NBT to relax a little. Surprisingly he ended up beating the WR by 0"02 with a 1'00"87.
November 20th, 2005:
What a day at Mario Circuit 1! Pierre L'Hoëst broke the triple tie at the lap, breaking the previous WR with the smallest possible margin to an incredible 12"05
November 17th, 2005:
Pierre's reign at MC1 ends in 2 days! Who else then Karel van Duijvenboden ties Pierre's superb WR at 1'00"89**
November 15th, 2005:
It's been a week since Pierre L'Hoëst
beat a WR for the last time. But he's back with a vengeance! He beats
Karel van Duijvenboden's Mario Circuit 1 5-lap. The new WR is standing
solid at 1'00"89
November 13th, 2005:
Bowser Castle specialist Armin Huber shows what he does best! Driving BC WR's that is! He ties Pierre Bowser Castle 2 lap with a time of 20"16**
November 9th, 2005:
Dutch Non-NBT champion Karel van Duijvenboden has broken yet another World Record. The legendary Mario Circuit 1 5-lap went down to an extraordinary 1'00"91
November 8th, 2005:
After 2 whole days without WR-action, Pierre L'Hoëst
finally beats one again. Bowser Castle 3 5-lap it is this time. A very
small improvement it was, but nontheless a great WR, which stands at
1'30"42.
November 5th, 2005:
The World Record improvements appear to be like the flu. Very persistent and no one seems to be immune. Today it was Karel van Duijvenboden, who improved his own Bowser Castle 3 f-lap again. This time he even tied his NBT f-lap (!), with a time of 17"79
November 4th, 2005:
French karter Pierre L'Hoëst cleverly moved from BC3 to BC2, to claim the f-lap WR there. The WR now stands at a still not maxed looking 20"16
November 3rd, 2005:
After being attacked by Pierre L'Hoëst, Karel van Duijvenboden switched from MC1 to Bowser Castle 3. In the process, he broke his own f-lap WR, improving it to 17"81
October 31st, 2005:
Still playing hours and hours on Vanilla Lake 1, non-NBT World Champion Pierre L'Hoëst secures his lead over Seb, who turned to play Rainbow Road, with an unbeatable looking 5-lap of 0'52"35

On another course, namely Mario Circuit 1, it was NBT World Champion Karel van Duijvenboden who tied the f-lap of Michael Jongerius and Pierre L'Hoëst. The WR-time is now triple-tied, but still stands at 12"06
October 13th, 2005:
Again more World Records driven by French Champion
Pierre L'Hoëst.
This time he takes down both World Records on Ghost Valley 2, using a
different technique for the second corner. The lap went down to 12"02
October 11th, 2005:
Two more World Records driven by French Champion
Pierre L'Hoëst,
as he beats Willam Jonas' Choco Island 2 flap and Kalle Videkul's
5-lap. Using the infamous lake-driving technique, he too got to 13"43
October 7th, 2005:
It's been a while since Armin Huber
got some results on his favourite course, Bowser Castle 1. But if he
improves, it's almost certainly a World Record! This time he tied
Pierre's f-lap, with a perfect looking 17"65**
October 6th, 2005:
The action is still on Donut Plains, but this time it was Donut Plains 2 5-lap that went down. Who else then its champion Michael Jongerius being the one that breaks this World Record. The 5-lap is now standing at 1'27"24.
October 3rd, 2005:
A daily routine for Michael Jongerius as he breaks his own Donut Plains 1 5-lap WR. This time he did remember the splits which resulted in an unbeatable looking
1'15"83. Will this finally be the end of the epic DP1 battle?

Pierre L'Hoëst made a flap tie (17.35)World Record on Rainbow Road. It looks like finally someone is able to get along with Sami on this course. The Wr's on this course are very old and nobody (till now) ever got close to those old Wr's. I think Pierre is a good candidate for breaking the Wrs here.
In a very good 5lap attempt Michael Jongerius took the bc1 flap down 0.01 more to a 17.68!
Michael Jongerius tried to figure out how Armin Huber could get such low times on BC1. After correcting his strat in the first 2 corners he could suddenly drive a bit faster. Then he saw that he could definetely beat Huber's flap. He took it down to 17"69!.
Gerard Roodhorst sticks to GV3 and made some very good WR's. He got the flap down to 14"85!. Then he went to the 5lap and put a very consistent WR down with his 1'15"26!.
Michael Jongerius made a vey fine record on DP3 and finally broke that old long standing record of Sami Çetin. It's down to 1'20"03.
March 2004:
Gerard Roodhorst finally gets what he deserved at GV3 flap. He already had driven some sick first laps with which he could easily drive 14.8x laps. So therefore the new WR didn't came as a real surprise. He takes it down to 14"88!.
Looks like we've got a real BC1 freak here. This guy is so addicted to this course. I don't think he's gonna stop untill his fingers refuse him to play anymore. This guy's name is Armin Huber. He makes a new WR on 5lap with a frightening 1'29"03!!!!. He also makes a not-touchable-looking flap of 17.70!!!.
Michael Jongerius
returns to one of his favorite courses after he saw Roodhorst beating his 5lap. In the beginning he had some trouble and he could only get 1:15.6x. But not long after that he made a big leap and went from 1:15.63 to the WR, which now stands at 1'15"40!.It looks like another Dutch guy joins the WR page. Karel van Duijvenboden, who was mainly focussed on BC3, has now done some serious damage on this course. He takes the previously WR on flap from Pierre down to 17.91!!.
