Gold Star #5 for Matthias Boucher

August 21, 2006, by Karel van Duijvenboden

The highest ranked karter to be active this update, Matthias Boucher, also earns this time's Gold Star award (invented by Chris Clark, it's already the 2nd time Matthias nets this trophy). He earned his highest ranking on the site yet by passing Dutch legend Michael Jongerius to take his #4 spot! The lead isn't massive, but he's definitely more active than his rival at this moment in time. The PR's he got were very impressive, one of them a strategical one for passing MJ. This was at GV2 where he got a win on MJ by 0"02 after Matthias improved his 5-lap to 1'02"28. He's only 0"06 away from Pierre's already quite maxed out WR there. Also interesting to note is that Matthias' best middle lap now equals that of Sami and Pierre at 12"32, being the best non platform jump lap ever driven. His other PR's were on BC1, a course similar in nature if you like. Much to his own surprise he even got close to the 1'29 barrier, tie-ing MJ at #4 with 1'29"05 as well as getting a 5th ranked flap of 17"71, this time in a tie with Sami.
