PC Problem at Home and Update for Next week

Hello all, many of you are aware of the sudden fault that has happened on my PC at home, so just to let you know. I am not sure for definite what it is yet, but a technician will visit my house on Friday to attempt to repair it. The lady I spoke with on the phone of the tech people seemed 99% sure it was because my graphics card has packed up. When I turn the PC on the pixels go wierd on the screen with wierd colours, then it goes black and sometimes shuts itself off. I am hoping that it is just a simple thing regarding the graphics card and that can be fixed quickly. If it takes longer I will let you know.

Updates are not a problem as they are done on a different PC on Sundays, I'm not at home then. If the PC is by luck repaired on Friday, then it may be up and running again by then, have to wait and see. Basically I have no PC or internet access from my house (affecting evenings and fridays/saturdays), however my brother Hakan has kindly allowed me to use his PC some evenings round his place if needed although it will be brief. I am still able to access online at work also, so catch me on there if you have any queries.

Next weekend, again many of you are aware we have a meet in the UK with some of the karters from France, Netherlands and Norway visiting (my 25th birthday/games session/kebabs etc etc). As a result on the Sunday 7th October there will be no update, so the next update will be on Sunday 14th October. If the PC does make a miraculous return from the afterlife, then there may be a surprise update on the 7th, but all depends, I will let you know later on Friday if there is any good news. Pray for my PC this week... please...

Karel van Duijvenboden delivered a bunch of PAL WRs this week; Choco Island 1 lap 0'10"65, Choco Island 2 course time 1'05"21 and a further cut to his Mario Circuit 4 lap stronghold at 0'18"31.

Pierre L'Hoest also did some strong damages with Bowser Castle 3 PAL Lap World Record of 0'17"65 and a Rainbow Road lap World Record tie at 0'17"19*.

Movement

PAL Activity:

PAL World Champion Karel van Duijvenboden trained well on CI2 this week, falling a little short of the fastlap but making a good 5-lap while continuing the WR swapping on CI1. An MC4 lap WR improvement also looked good.

#2 Pierre L'Hoest pushed out a superb lap on BC3, now a new WR and also tied Karel's RR lap WR this week.

#9 Christophe Paquin of France sets a nice GV2 Non-NBT lap PR.

#13 Pierre Coste of Paris makes solid work of GV1 NBT with 5/5 platform jumps and a strong time.

#18 Kalle Videkull, Sweden Champion passes UK's #2 Matthew McCarthy with nice DP2 and BC2 cuts Non-NBT. An excellent cut leaving Harold Christensen within range and Label also not too far ahead.

#29 David Bonne set a pair of DP2 Non-NBT PRs and moved closer to Eklund and Lefevre on the rankings above.

#46 Mathieu Jaspard and #47 Jean-Francois Schepers continue their battle for #1 in Belgium with some nice PRs from both as they cut some more average finish score. Matheiu remainds #1 in Belgium this week and extends his lead slightly.

#53 Alvin van Asselt made another good cut with PRs on several courses and best laps, landing ahead of Lars Nouwen for #7 in Netherlands on SMK.

#55 Julien Chabanis set an MC3 5-lap PR. #56 Geoffrey Ewbank, currently in a small battle with Julien also set one PR, on KB1. We will see if their activity picks up next week. Geoffrey is looking to chase the top Belgian karters.

#69 Julien Brangeon of France sets 6 new PRs this week cutting 3 pts off his average finish to land within the Top 70 ahead of Gauthier.

#100 Marc Goulette is making excellent progress with his new times as he is in rivalry with Italian Champion #101 Angelo Di Vano who has had an amazing week cutting down his times all over. Angelo has a faster pace at the moment, although Marc is in the lead. Both karters ready to move into the Top 100, we look forward to see the battle next week.

#122 James Jones of Norwich in the UK also makes a very strong climb this week and has the pace to follow Angelo to the Top 100s. He is now #21 in the UK.

#135 Steve Bayliss, Walsall Champion improves some of his times including a bit of work on the Bowser Castles, he is continuing to improve these to help train on other tracks. UK rival Paul Tanney is close ahead.

#154 Samuel Gomez set a time on RR and also some Mushroom Cup PRs to conclude his week as he defends his rank.

#157 Fabio Sacco, Italy's 2nd fastest karter returns to SMK with a few very strong cuts to MC1 and DP1! Once he improves more of his tracks we could see a rivalry to Angelo and other karters.

#190 Leyla Hasso wasn't as motivated with KB1 but her Uncle/Master insisted and she got a good lap and a reasonable 5-lap attempt. KB2 was a greater success with hoping over lakes in an emergency to recover and a very nice sub 14 lap. Leyla has passed the Champion of Ireland Ian Cairns, with Polish Champion, Piotr Gierzycki just ahead.

NTSC Activity:

#5 Alencar Faria of Brazil has passed US Champion Bernier to reach #3 on the continent. His BC3 PRs were solid and he definitely has the pace to reach Balch's position.

#7 Pierre L'Hoest defends his position with a small CI2 lap PR.

#13 Soul Kobayashi has made a great week with 14 new PRs and a rise to become #1 in Japan on SMK Time Trial. Congratulations! Soul has a lot of potential left with his strong climbs and can reach the Top 10 NTSC soon with new records.

#14 Tyler Worley sets a strong pair of Rainbow Road PRs pushing ahead on his stats a little further.

#26 Toshi Miura hits a small PR on KB2 this week.

#33 Michael Fried continues to set more Non-NBT PRs on various tracks and passes former World Champion Stanley Jeram.

#59 Dan Hanson improves his GV3 PR this week with a nice cut.

#63 Pete Crawford is still going strong as he passes another karter on the list with new PRs including times he was pleased with on MC1.

New World Records

Karel van Duijvenboden drove an unspeakable PAL World Record on VL2 of 0'48"41.

Pierre L'Hoest seized some good opportunities with World Records on Choco Island 2 with 1'05"41 and 0'12"74.

Movement

PAL Activity:

PAL World Champion Karel van Duijvenboden fought to get his VL2 WR back and succeeded with a 48"43 WR, but then disaster struck and his snes cut off before he could tape it. So what does a World Champion do...? He plays again and does 5/5 island jumps with the fastest route, gets 48"41 and tapes that one! Video is available on the message board and youtube for those that haven't watched it.

#2 Pierre L'Hoest took a pair of tight WRs for Choco Island 2 after some solid work on those times this week, excellent job Pierre.

#19 Kalle Videkull, Sweden Champion continues his Non-NBT rampage with a stronger pace including some crazy RR stuff going on. He is making his way towards McCarthy with a nice cut.

#20 Manuel Babjar maintains his position well with a new PR for RR, he continues to fight for a 1'27" time.

#29 Bjorn Eklund of sweden returned and continues a rivalry with #30 David Bonne and #31 Guillaume Leviach. All 3 karters provided some good PRs. Eklund made a nice cut; Leviach is going strong and is moving up towards Bonne a little more.

#46 Mathieu Jaspard has returned with PRs and takes his position as Belgian Time Trial Champion of SMK. We will see if he defends this position from close rivals in the coming weeks and sets new targets to reach within the Top 40.

#51 Ben Allen of Team UK fell a little short of reaching the Top 50 this week, but still busted out some excellent PRs before heading to Uni. He is ready for the up and coming challenges in a few weeks... yep those challenges wink

#59 Alvin van Asselt continues to climb very fast in the rankings with another very strong set of PRs this week. Keep up the great work!

#95 Gavin Mace of Australia sticks to GV2 this week with some nice times and a good cut there.

#108 Steven Cotton of the UK returns to SMK this week with a few PRs to start off his return. He is not far from the Top 100, we look forward to see if he reaches towards that mark.

#119 Angelo Di Vano of Italy recahes the Top 120 with a good selection of PRs this week and is vey close to passing a few more karters.

#131 James Jones is attacking the rankings hard with a lot of new PRs of a higher standard as we see Norwich SMK Champion reach #23 in the UK.

#154 Samuel Gomez continues to work hard on some tracks to provide a higher level of PRs.

#193 Leyla Hasso of the UK has passed her father Karim Hasso to become the new Hasso family Champion with her latest PRs and also Norbury #1 in her local area.

NTSC Activity:

#2 Guilherme Arantes, the Champion of Brazil returns to SMK with a small PR on KB1.

#6 Alencar Faria of Brazil worked solidly on MC1 this week setting a great 56 second PR.

#12 Luis Felipe Ferrari is the 3rd active Brazilian to return to SMK this week as we see him set the standard with a few nice PRs to start off the week with.

#26 Toshi Miura works on a few different tracks this week and cuts some good points to lower his average finish.

#34 Michael Fried of USA set a PR on GV2 5-lap Non-NBT.

#64 Pete Crawford sets the lead vs rival karter #66 Emeric Gosselin. Emeric improved BC3 fastlap, and Pete made several cuts this week.

#138 Steve Bayliss turned to NTSC to make several good cuts to his times and a strong climb up the NTSC ladder. Gabriel Arantes is just ahead.

#168 Jacob Goldfinger of USA made more PRs this week and lands in the Top 170 after passing Canadian Legend Jonathan Bernier.

Biff and Marius exchange words... and videos... ;)

Jean-Francois is now #1 in Belgium on SMK Time Trial, congratulations! However it is still very close competition with Jaspard close by. We will see the progress in the coming weeks.

#52 Ben Allen, UK's #5 karter of SMK hits more PRs this week cutting good points off. He is well on the way to the Top 50, another -3.6 or so and he can reach there. It's like reaching for a ledge just in time to make that climb, can he do it?

#62 Alvin van Asselt of Netherlands has had a scary week with a crazy climb to near the Top 60. This guy has strong potential the further ahead he climbs. He is now #8 on the Dutch rankings!

#74 Julien Brangeon improves a BC3 PR.

#96 Gavin Mace finally pushes his way through to the Top 100 and is still going strong. Several good karters stand in his way between him and the next Australia rival, Moncrieff-Hill. However with his pace he will be cutting the corners well to get there.

#121 Angelo Di Vano, the Champion of Italy continues a great climb with a lot of new PRs. He is doing great to make his way towards the Top 100 and will get there. His first target is to break 120. Angelo has also passed ahead of Austrian Champion Peter Elsaesser.

#134 Steve Bayliss pulls out some more PRs to pass a German and Dutch rival. He now sets his sights to reach Tanney who is a few points ahead but reachable soon.

#153 James Jones continues to climb strong with a long list of new PRs and a climb to #29 in the UK. However, he has a rival approaching fast this week...

#155 Samuel Gomez makes an enormous improvement on nearly all the tracks with a great cut as he chases James Jones on the PAL rankings. An excellent effort, keep on karting!

#200 Leyla Hasso continues her SMK training with some random PRs to start the week and then an amazing landmark of a 1'03"93 on MC1! She is now #42 in the UK and her father is close, so a new Hasso family Champion will be in motion soon...

NTSC Activity:

#18 Soul Kobayashi has a nice -2 cut to his average finish with some great PRs that puts him in range of the next 3 or 4 karters, including Japanese Champion Ha Nyan. It will be a great battle this week and we will see what happens on their next PRs.

#26 Toshi Miura, Team Japan's 4th fastest karter has also had a good week, passing a few karters, with former Japanese Champion Masakazu Goto next on the ranking. With improvement to Toshi's slower times he can cut enough average finish to reach #3 in Japan and further from there.

#65 Emeric Gosselin is in competition with #66 Pete Crawford as they fight over their rank with PRs. Emeric remains in the lead for the moment but Pete is moving up a little faster. To be continued...
