Pierre L'Hoest hit a suprise take on the PAL Koopa Beach 1 lap World Record of 0'09"32

Karel van Duijvenboden has been busy on Choco Island 1 PAL with a pair of new World Records: 0'55"20 and 0'10"67.

Movement

PAL Activity:

PAL Wold Champion Karel van Duijvenboden worked very hard with CI1 nailing two WRs that he was after along with an MC3 lap PR, keep up the great karting!

#2 Pierre L'Hoest surprised us on Koopa Beach 1 joining the French rivalry that went on this week. Pierre made a sub 50 second time and a lap WR.

#4 Florent Lecoanet set a tiny cut to his KB1 5-lap sub 50 second time.

#7 Julien Holmiere came about with a stronger climb this week and took down Germany 2nd fastest, Armin Huber with some strong NBT PRs all round.

#10 Christophe Paquin made a comeback this week and is in the Top 10 strong with a few NBT PRs to keep up the the top karters activity.

#15 Geoffrey Label continued activity on the French KB1 rivalry with a cut also within sub 50.

#20 Manuel Babjar worked on some of the gap jumping tracks with GV3 and RR looking good for some times this week. GV3 lap went sub 15 and potential is still left on RR, for a 1'28" or lower. He cuts a little closer to Swedish Champion.

#26 Olivier Antoine headed up the KB1 activity by edging out the French record on the 5-lap and also diving a nice PR for KB2.

#30 David Bonne followed on KB1 with some Non-NBT PRs and a strong lap with potential for a large cut soon.

#49 Mathieu Jaspard of Belgium makes some more cuts to his times and an improvement to average finish. There are just two karters on the way to reaching Peter Toch and the Belgian SMK Time Trials Title.

#64 Stacy Needham drives 6 PRs with more focus on Star Cup this week as he cuts his stats a little further.

#118 Alvin van Asselt climbs a few positions with some solid Mushroom Cup and Special Cup PRs. He continues to work on reaching the Top 100s.

#154 Gavin Mace of Australia hit several new times this week including a 1'19" time on DP1 that he has been after. He has plenty of potential and defends the #1 Tasmania spot as rival James Scrim enters to challenge him. We look forward to the progress of this rivalry next week!

#179 Samuel Gomez of France made a return to SMK with a PR for BC3 fastlap.

NTSC Activity:

#16 Sebastien Holmiere kept active in NTSC this week with a variety of PRs and a good cut as he closes in on Worley and Morissette.

#27 Soul Kobayashi and #29 Toshi Miura of Japan competed again this week with Soul making another great list of PRs with still a lot of potential. It will be interesting to see if he works towwards #1 Japan. Toshi worked solidly on his GV3 PRs with some more strong cuts close to the Japanese records. Soul Kobayashi is now #3 in Japan. Keep up the great karting! In between on the rivalry, #28 David Smith is keeping up with the Japanese driving a new PR for KB1 lap.

#68 Emeric Gosselin hit 4 PRs and is very close to Brad Seiler. Will Brad return next week to defend his spot from the rivalry?

#78 Justin Kapple of USA hit a pair of Rainbow Road PRs.

#122 Mike Aitken made some Non-NBT cuts to his MC1 PRs, with a solid 1'00" time for the 5-lap.

#145 Steve Bayliss also improved his Rainbow Road PRs with times ahead of the level of higher ranked Kapple, and are also UK NTSC Records of RR! (Where is Sami and his NTSC SNES?). Excellent work Steve!

#185 Chuck Foster and #189 Jacob McMillin both put together a strong list of new times as they push through into the Top 190 and rival each other with fairly even cuts to average finish. We look forward to see their progress next week.

Cleaning up to be ready

New World Records

Pierre L'Hoest delivers a strong time with the different strat on MC1 PAL with a lap WR of 0'11"36, following up afterwards with a pair of Donut Plains 2 World Records of 1'25"84 and 0'16"89.

Movement

PAL Activity:

#2 Pierre L'Hoest perfected the MC1 lap strategy for a crazy new lap WR. He also managed to chip off his DP2 PAL WRs a bit also.

#6 Matthias Boucher of France cut some more off his PRs including VL work and and NBT lap on BC1.

#8 Julien Holmiere cut down 4 of his PRs on return to PAL SMK again with strong efforts as he maintains his position.

#15 Geoffrey Label of France set some solid KB1 records this week.

#20 Manuel Babjar of Germany hits a very nice IB lap on MC2 and a pair of good GV3 times to cut well on average finish.

#24 Joe Bernier of USA, hit some PRs on DP1 and MC3 laps with a nice chop to land short of Swiss Champion Braun. Plenty of potential to climb, hit those PRs Joe!

#26 Olivier Antoine worked on KB1 as per Geoffrey but with a little further success with sub 50 second PRs and a nice lap also.

#30 David Bonne set some Non-NBT targets on MC1 this week and raced a nice lap with a decent 5-lap to go with it.

#64 Stacy Needham and #68 Ben Allen of the UK have been in strong competition this week with Stacy nailing the MC2 lap IB and several other great times. Ben worked hardcore on the fastlaps to cut as much down before his holiday and see his potential for later. His improvements on tracks like GV3 lap are quite scary! They are now #7 and #8 in the UK respectively. Keep up the great karting!

#120 Alvin van Asselt returned to SMK with a few PRs this week to start his karting off. Alvin will be aiming for the Top 100s soon with further cuts in PRs.

#165 Gavin Mace of Australia worked on 7 new PRs this week with good focus on the DP tracks and is now ranked #8 in Australia.

NTSC Activity:

NTSC World Champion Karel van Duijvenboden made a small cut again to his MC3 NBT lap PR.

#17 Simon Laflamme, the 3rd fastest in Canada and a Non-NBT veteran has driven a pair of crazy Non-NBT times for MC3, very well done there!

#28 Toshi Miura of Japan made a surprise return to SMK this week with some GV3 PRs. We look forward to some more new records from him soon.

#33 Soul Kobayashi of Japan passed Soutyou to become #5 in Japan with a great set of new records! He is also close to rivals above, Hero Nake and Toshi Miura, so we are sure to see them compete soon. Soul has some great potential still and will climb further soon.

#67 Brad Seiler and #68 Emeric Gosselin fought well this week on Time Trials with nice times from both. Brad takes a strong lead this week with many new records including some NBT PRs.

#192 Chuck Foster of USA has made his first set of new times since joining and is picking up the pace well so far, keep up the great karting!

Gerard Roodhorst finally broke the big barrier on Ghost Valley 3 PAL with a 1'14"98 World Record!

Karel van Duijvenboden lowered the fastlap WR on Mario Circuit 4 PAL this week to 0'18"36.

Tyler Worley improved a little further on his KB1 5-lap WR to 0'46"19.

Movement

PAL Activity:

PAL World Champion, Karel van Duijvenboden improved his lap PR and a WR for Mario Circuit 4 on PAL a little.

#4 Florent Lecoanet has driven a strong cut to Donut Plains 3 lap prior to the Norway meet.

#6 Matthias Boucher is also following up with a few PRs in his free time now with a small improvement to his overall stats.

#11 Gerard Roodhorst is now in direct competition with Jonas after he stated that he felt no way to get a great new WR on Ghost Valley 3 5-lap, breaking the barrier in the process. After the great meet in Norway, we are also all hoping Gerard recruits Lindsay to the site smile

#16 Pierre Coste is currently the defending champion of Paris and sets PRs on MC2 and VL2 to keep up with the competition.

#21 Manuel Babjar closes in on Clement Papon with 4 new PRs. The competition continues to next week.

#26 Olivier Antoine landed a great sub 50 second course time for KB1 with an equally strong lap after some hard training. An excellent job there this week!

#30 David Bonne has been working hard on his times for CI1 and VL2 Non-NBT to cut them down well and has defended his position.

#32 Sean Billingsley drove a pair of NBT times for DP1 this week, defending his #3 in UK rank.

#34 Chris Clark of the UK made a return to PAL SMK after recruiting Bernier to the PAL side and drove some PRs that made significant cuts to close in on rivals above.

#51 Jean-Francois Schepers is hitting a few times on Star Cup this week to keep up with the activity and a little closer to Belgian #2 Jaspard. The Belgian title of Toch is still open, will any of the Belgian's reach it before their tournament?

#55 Geoffrey Ewbank also returned with some work on Choco Island 2 this week.

#70 Stacy Needham put together some very strong PRs last week and continue to make cuts this week including some crazy IB on MC2 and other great work. Stacy is now #8 in the UK.

#76 Ben Allen however is the biggest shocker, not only to the UK rankings but the World on PAL as he finally gets his own copy of SMK and has re-hit all of his times to get some very strong hits all round. He has some crazy potential, so the top UK players will certainly have something to worry about in the near future as he is now #11 in UK. Keep up the superb karting Ben!

#83 Florian Chollet hit 8 PRs and defended against the recent climb of two UK karters and also gained another position.

#141 Ian Broom cut a chunk off his average finish and gained some more positions on the PAL rankings. There are many karters close ranked including Finnish Champion Nuutilainen not far ahead.

#218 John Barber of the UK improved his MC1 time by surprise during the qualifying round of the SMK Tournament in Norway, using Toad. A clean race with some nice driving, also a big well done to reaching the Quarter Finals there in style!

#244 Arbinder Manku and #248 Alistair Brooks both of the UK also karted during the Norway meet with some rival PRs. During this busy time they were limited to PRs mainly on Mushroom Cup with some nice cuts from both players and a slight further lead from Arbinder.

NTSC Activity:

#7 Pierre L'Hoest made a quick cut to his CI1 5-lap PR for NTSC.

#14 Tyler Worley hit a couple of PRs with the main highlight being a small cut to his KB1 5-lap WR. He seems to want the sub 46 second time which would be an amazing target. However for now he continues to reel Jamie closer in.

#27 David Smith also worked on KB1 this week with some solid results.

#33 Karl Ludwigsen struck on KB1 then moved on to Special Cup for some decent all round PRs with D.K.Jr to cut a little average finish. There is a gap to Fraser above, however with improvements on weaker tracks Karl can close the gap.

#40 Soul Kobayashi of Japan has almost caught up to rival Soutyou with a string of great new times on several tracks. Keep up the great karting Soul!

#69 Rich Gomes and #70 Emeric Gosselin are in close competition during this week and Rich makes his return to answer Emeric's constant climb. Rich takes the lead this week with some sharp PRs over all the cups on key courses to cut more average finish.

#78 Justin Kapple of USA made a return to SMK with a pair of MC1 PRs Non-NBT.

#91 Bill Hyman continues to climb with another set of good PRs that are taking him towards the Top 90 and eventually new rivals above.

#145 Steve Bayliss stuck to NTSC this week with 6 new PRs to improve his stats a little and land ahead of St-Arnaud of Canada.

Norway meeting 5th to 12th July and next week's update

As many of you are aware the Norway World Next Level Gaming meet takes place next week from 5th July with several gamers attending from near and far. As a result there will be no update next weekend; but many of us will be in the midst of tournaments on several games including SMK and other karts, hey Street Fighter and a hot Pro Evo 6 Tournament.

Meanwhile keep on karting and sending PRs as normal, as POWs are still up for grabs on both weeks and will give you a chance to climb well on the rankings. The Belgians have a target to see if they can reach before their August tournament and several other rivalries continue...

Next update : Sunday 15th July
