New World Records
Karel van Duijvenboden performed very well in his Donut Plains 2 efforts this week on PAL with new World Records of 1'25"88 and 0'16"90.
Sami Cetin made a great performance this week on PAL hitting a strong World Record on Ghost Valley 1 of 1'01"86 and a lap WR tie with 0'12"12*.
Chris Balch drove an NTSC World Record for Choco Island 2 of 1'02"78.
Pierre L'Hoest had his turn on taking the Ghost Valley 2 lap World Record on NTSC with 0'11"45.
Tyler Worley improves his NTSC World Record on Koopa Beach 1 further to 0'46"46.
Christophe Paquin lowers his trick WR time on Ghost Valley 2 PAL a little further to 0'54"20.

PAL Activity:
PAL World Champion Karel van Duijvenboden hit some great World Records for Donut Plains 2 this week and also a very fast GV1 5-lap PR that was sub 1'02".
#3 Sami Cetin, UK Champion set some great World Records for Ghost Valley 1 this week, the 1-lap being a tie with Karel. Some solid PRs on Mario Circuit 3 NBT were also in the works.
#5 Sebastian Stellmacher, German Champion hits a PR on DP2 fastlap.
#7 Matthias Boucher set 4 PRs this week and is making an approach towards the 2nd fastest in Germany.
#10 Christophe Paquin drives a selection of NBT PRs including a very fast lap for DP2 and passes Roodhorst for #10 PAL. Paquin is also approaching Jonas.
#27 Manuel Babjar of Germany hit some targets he was after on BC1 with a sub 1'30" time and a great fastlap to go with it. He has also had another successful cut on CI2.
#28 Bjorn Eklund drove very nice Non-NBT PRs for MC1 and GV3 and also some good LB attempts at MC2 so far. He cut a great amount of average finish and will help on his way to reaching the French karters ranked 21st-26th.
#33 Marius Hukkelaas, our champion of Norway made a surprise return this week with some nice cuts on DP1, CI2 and KB2 using NBT. These have helped him to pass Australia's champion Eric Scott and Florian Stern. Danilovic is just ahead.
#56 Geoffrey Ewbank continues the Belgium/Spain battle with #57 Jean-Francois Schepers and #58 Oleguer Limona. Oleguer hit some good records approaching barriers and cutting his stats down well. Jean-Francois drove a few Belgian records this week and some other Non-NBT PRs, cutting the greater amount of average finish amongst the rivalry. Geoffrey Ewbank ties the Belgian record on GV1 with a new fastlap also and defends his rank well.
#64 Mathieu Jaspard of Belgium and #65 John Kenny of Australia are now in a close battle with some strong cuts from Mathieu. However John is continuing to fly up the ladder with many great improvements including further moves on MC2 IB and a platform jump PR on GV2.
#77 Alexis Gauthier of France hit some PRs for Ghost Valley 3 improving his stats well.
#88 Julien Brangeon cut a bit more off his Koopa Beach 1 times.
#129 Tuomas Nuutilainen, the Finnish Champion has also returned to SMK! He has started off with 6 PRs so far, cutting down his weaker tracks very well with great improvement to average finish. We look forward to see him climb towards the Top 100.
#154 Daniel Caterbow of Germany hit 6 PRs with Bowser, driving a sub 1'10" on GV1 with some nice records on BC1 and GV3 also.
#169 Steve Bayliss of UK made many new times this week with an average finish improvement that was strong with a few improvements on his weaker times and strengthening his solid ones further. Steve has reached #33 in the UK.
#203 Leyla Hasso drives a small PR on CI1 lap.
NTSC Activity:
#4 Chris Balch, the Champion of Canada took the Choco Island 2 World Record on NTSC 5-lap and also set a fastlap PR that is close.
#6 Alencar Faria of Brazil made 3 PRs narrowly missing the 1'40"00 barrier on BC2 and a few other nice times, defending his rank well and cutting a bit further towards Bernier.
#7 Pierre L'Hoest hit a great WR on Ghost Valley 2 lap of NTSC this week defending his #1 France title on NTSC with a nice average finish cut.
#11 Luis Felipe Ferrari and #12 Anderson Barbosa dos Santos of Brazil set great PRs. Anderson hits a nice MC2 time and a strong BC3 5-lap, however Luis Felipe extends his lead a little with some more records including breaking the 1'40" barrier on BC2 and a super fast PR for Koopa Beach 1 5-lap rivalling Worley's World Record.
#14 Tyler Worley took his Koopa Beach 1 5-lap World Record down a step further this week with a sub 46"5x time.
#15 Martin Morissette, Canada's 2nd fastest has had a good week with some IB times on MC2 and some other strong NBT PRs on other courses.
#17 Ha Nyan of Japan improves his Mario Circuit 1 fastlap this week.
#22 Dan Hoernemann drove some NBT PRs for KB2 this week cutting some of his stats.
#27 David Smith improves his Donut Plains 2 lap PR further.
#37 Karl Ludwigsen hits some good improvements on some of the Special Cup tracks and is catching up to Drew on NTSC.
#96 Emeric Gosselin worked on his times from all the cups this week with a strong overall improvement as he settles into the Top 100.
#121 Sebastien Cormier of Canada has also made a large cut to his average finish and will be following Emeric on his run towards the Top 100s. |

Karel van Duijvenboden too his Vanilla Lake 2 lap World Record skills to the next level with a new time on PAL of 0'09"14.
On NTSC, Alencar Faria worked very hard on Mario Circuit 2 5-lap breaking the World Record to a new 1'03"31.
Tyler Worley improved his Koopa Beach 1 World Record on NTSC further to 0'46"69.
Florent Lecoanet landed an NTSC World Record tie on Ghost Valley 2 at 0'11"47*.

PAL Activity:
PAL World Champion Karel van Duijvenboden hit a few strong PRs on DP2 this week and also took down the Vanilla Lake 2 lap World Record on PAL.
#3 Sami Cetin has a great week on Choco Island 1 and 2 on PAL with some good cuts on both.
#5 Sebastian Stellmacher, the German Champion has also had another strong week with some good NBT times on fastlaps and course records.
#10 Gerard Roodhorst and #11 Christophe Paquin had a small battle this week with some good NBT PRs from both. Gerard took the lead at this time with his 6 new PRs.
#14 Michael Jongerius hit a great Non-NBT lap live at the Paris Fun cup last weekend for DP2.
#27 Manuel Babjar of Germany hit 5 new PRs including a sub 1'00" NBT time for CI1. He is getting closer to several French karters just ahead.
#31 Chris Clark improved a KB2 lap PR during a meet with Karel this weekend.
#49 Sean Billingsley improved a few PRs this week and defended his rank.
#56 Geoffrey Ewbank is in a battle with Spanish Champion #58 Oleguer Limona and #60 Jean-Francois Schepers. Geoffrey and Jean-Francois are keeping a good pace with some nice Non-NBT PRs. Oleguer however has had a great week with some sharp PRs including a successful run of the IB on Mario Circuit 2 lap.
#64 Mathieu Jaspard of Belgium is also moving up fast towards the rivalry above with some good PRs so far including Belgian record for KB1.
#72 John Kenny of Australia has had a fantastic week with a large list of PRs all round and a high average finish cut. John has also managed to pass Nick Moncrieff-Hill overall for #3 in Australia.
#88 Julien Brangeon of France is picking up the pace very well as he flies into the Top 100s with several good cuts to his times overall.
#155 Daniel Caterbow of Germany drove 3 PRs this week and cut some of his average finish.
#168 Florian Chollet hit some new PRs on PAL improving his stats and is close to passing Tony Wicker in UK.
NTSC Activity:
#4 Chris Balch, the Champion of Canada set a good PR for Choco Island 2 5-lap.
#6 Alencar Faria of Brazil has had an awesome week again with MC2, a new WR! Accompanied with this he drove other strong NBT PRs with a good pace as he starts his journey towards the US Champion.
#7 Pierre L'Hoest continued his work on NTSC and is defending his French Title there well with a few solid PRs.
#10 Florent Lecoanet remains at #3 in France on NTSC but is closing in on Julien with a great WR tie on GV2 lap and some other great times.
#12 Anderson Barbosa dos Santos has driven 7 new PRs this week including a sub 1'40" on BC2!
#14 Tyler Worley of USA improved his Koopa Beach 1 NTSC World Record a little further.
#17 Ha Nyan pushed his Ghost Valley 2 times a little further this week and has also cut down a few of his times on MC1 and CI1.
#22 Dan Hoernemann of USA hit a good sub 50 secs time on KB1 with a strong lap and a few other PRs.
#24 Jonathan Girard of Canada improved a PR on CI2 lap.
#27 David Smith took his long boosting on Mario Circuit 2 a little further with a new PR there.
#107 Bo Garman of USA set 14 PRs picking up a very strong pace with a large average finish cut to keep his approaching rivals at distance. He is set to hit the Top 100s with ease if he keeps this pace.
#110 Emeric Gosselin of France also hit many new times and passed the Champion of Ecuador.
#114 Robin Usher continued to PRs and making his climb towards the Top 100 with Non-NBT PRs that improved his stats well.
#118 Brian Smith drove a long list of times on several tracks and has improved his average finish well also. He is approaching the rivalry above. |

SMK meet at Fun Cup 2007 Paris
We had a fantastic weekend in Paris at the Fun Cup 2007! There were several great players there from France, UK, Netherlands and Switzerland and we had constant fun and laughter throughout. There is a topic available on the message board with some photos posted by French karter Baptiste Baly who hosted the meet ( and who has promised to join Time Trial soon ). Players will be writing their own story of how the weekend went for them. Lots of funny things happened as well as great gaming moments, im sure you will all like to share the stories:

New World Records
Karel van Duijvenboden and Pierre L'Hoest continued their Choco Island 1 battle on PAL now sharing a new World Record of 0'10"69*. Karel then later hit a new World Record for Donut Plains 1 5-lap of 1'11"56.
On NTSC, Tyler Worley of USA finally grabbed the Koopa Beach 1 World Record he was after with 0'46"72.
Guilherme Arantes made his set of NTSC World Records this week with a Mario Circuit 2 fastlap down to 0'11"29 and a Mario Circuit 4 5-lap of 1'31"06.

PAL Activity:
PAL World Champion Karel van Duijvenboden and #2 Pierre L'Hoest continued their fight on CI1 Fastlap taking it to the next level this week in a tie breaker again. Karel also got a nice World Record for Donut Plains 1 5-lap.
#5 Sebastian Stellmacher made a cut on his Mario Circuit 1 times this week with some very sharp NBT for the fastlap.
#7 Matthias Boucher drove 6 NBT PRs this week before the Fun cup with some good cuts on average finish and other stats.
#11 Christophe Paquin hit some PAL PRs on DP1 and GV1 closing the gap a little more to Gerard.
#27 Manuel Babjar of Germany improved his MC1 lap NBT style and also drove some solid cuts for Choco Island 1 and is still on the steady climb towards the karter above, Lefevre.
#49 Sean Billingsley made some strong improvements this week and has ascended to #4 in the UK after passing Richard O'Neill.
#58 Geoffrey Ewbank and #59 Jean-Francois Schepers are now in a much closer battle for #2 in Belgium! Jean-Francois PRs very well with many new times cutting into the Top 60s and Geoffrey also hits a couple of PRs. They are both approaching Visser and Voireuchon.
#62 Oleguer Limona has had a fantastic week as he hits his first LB times on Mario Circuit 2 and is moving close to the Belgian rivalry along with several other PRs Non-NBT.
#68 Mathieu Jaspard of Belgium is also moving up well as he passes Leon Kuijf of the Netherlands with some good times for Flower and Star Cups.
#155 Daniel Caterbow of Germany returned to SMK this week with some good PRs with Bowser improving his stats landing ahead of Alexandre Nerot of France.
#170 Emeric Gosselin went on a rampage with his PAL PRs making impressive cuts all round and a large climb on the PAL Rankings.
#172 Steve Bayliss of the UK hit a few PRs to close the gap a bit towards Florian Chollet.
#200 Pierre Peruch improved some fastlap records and a few PRs for Rainbow Road.
NTSC Activity:
#2 Guilherme Arantes had a fun week of SMK with quite a few nice PRs including strong WRs for MC2 lap and a near barrier miss on MC4 5-lap but still a fantastic time. He has improved some points on his average finish and other statistics overall well.
#4 Chris Balch, the Champion of Canada worked on his weaker CI1 and CI2 PRs this week with good results overall as he reaches ahead of Bernier on the NTSC rankings.
#6 Alencar Faria also had a very strong week with some strong improvements overall that have placed him ahead of Oliver to become #2 in Brazil. He has great potential to reach within the Top 5 with this pace. The battle for #1 in Brazil continues...
#8 Pierre L'Hoest set a PR for GV2 fastlap on NTSC this week.
#11 Luis Felipe Ferrari and #12 Anderson Barbosa dos Santos battle again near to the Top 10 of NTSC with a few strong times from Anderson including sub 1'40" on BC2 and several times from Luis Felipe also. We will see if they reach the rivalries in the Top 10 when they improve soon.
#14 Tyler Worley has the highlight this week of a new WR on KB1 5-lap for NTSC, congrats!
#22 Dan Hoernemann worked on about 5 of his times this week with some good use of NBT on tracks like CI2 with a solid sub 1'30" time for BC3 also.
#27 David Smith improved his MC2 lap very well along with a few other PRs placing him close to Harrington.
#110 Emeric Gosselin of France also worked very well with his NTSC times during this week and made many improvements overall; he is now ranked just below Ecuador Champion, Xavier Sanchez.
#116 Robin Usher of Japan is now in a rivalry from surprise return of #117 Bo Garman of USA. Bo came back with a few PRs on Bowser Castle 2 this week and Robin hit several times to make a strong climb. He is well on pace to reach the Top 100s on NTSC.
#134 Sebastien Cormier of Canada who joined SMK Time Trials last week is already making a very impressive run this week with several new times of a higher level and plenty of potential to improve further, keep up the great karting!
#148 Mike Covart of USA set a PR for GV2 5-lap this week defending his position. |

#3 Sami Cetin worked hard on DP2 NBT hitting a strong 5-lap time with a good lap to go with it.
#4 Florent Lecoanet improved his CI1 SC lap this week.
#5 Sebastian Stellmacher has done it this week! He has passed Armin Huber to become the new SMK PAL Time Trial Champion of Germany. He hit a selection of strong records this week that helped him cut a great amount of average finish at high rank.
#10 Gerard Roodhorst was in the small battle with #11 Christophe Paquin this week, Gerard hit the improvements on CI1 while Christophe held his position with a PR for KB2 5-lap and also a trick time for MC1.
#27 Manuel Babjar makes a great cut this week on average finish with some nice NBT PRs including great work with CI2 and some other tracks.
#34 Eric Scott drove solid BC2 and KB2 PRs this week making a good improvement to his stats and extending his lead from the Champion of Norway.
#55 Sean Billingsley made a few fastlap PRs this week and has just fallen short of passing Swiss karter Leutwyler. His MC2 lap is getting stronger now along with some Non-NBT PRs on BC2 and GV3.
#58 Geoffrey Ewbank has been hitting Belgian Records for Mario Circuit 3 following some good cuts there to defend his overall position.
#61 Jean-Francois Schepers also drove several good Non-NBT times including a 5-lap close to the Belgian Record on MC3 and is getting close now to former Australian Champion Ademir Cortes.
#65 Oleguer Limona of Spain is catching up a little faster now with some platform jumping on GV1 and good times for RR and MC3 also.
#69 Mathieu Jaspard of Belgium however is moving faster than his rivals above, so they will have a battle soon. He reached a Belgium Record for Ghost Valley 1 5-lap this week.
#78 Alexis Gauthier of France returned to SMK with some nice PRs working around the Mario Circuit tracks.
#85 John Kenny drove a few Australian Records this week on MC2 and MC3 which were a great result as he approaches Mangeol and Gaffikin on the PAL rankings.
#94 Stacy Needham hit a good cut with a long boost 5-lap on MC2 and more solid Non-NBT PRs.
#112 Julien Brangeon of France has worked hard on select tracks, the majority from Mushroom Cup and cut a lot of seconds off his times as he moves quickly towards the Top 100s.
#175 Emmanuel Debenest of France also made a significant cut since last week, once again cutting time off nearly all of his PRs.
NTSC Activity:
#2 Guilherme Arantes, the Champion of Brazil improved a little on his DP1 Fastlap.
#7 Pierre L'Hoest continued to defend his 3 way battle with a CI1 NBT PR while #8 Julien Holmiere is a point from being attacked by approaching #9 Alencar Faria. Julien drove 3 new PRs this week and Alencar made some strong times including the new Mario Circuit 2 5-lap WR.
#15 Martin Morissette is now #2 in Canada with his latest NBT PRs that have extended his lead from Laflamme and placed him in closer competition with Worley.
#17 Ha Nyan, the Japanese Champion worked on several tracks this week making a good average finish cut and has passed Huber and Seb Holmiere on the NTSC Rankings.
#22 Dan Hoernemann delivered a solid run on Mario Circuit 2 5-lap with long boosts that gained him an overall position after passing Japan's 2nd fastest, Goto.
#28 David Smith also landed some good long boost attempts with a few other PRs on the BC tracks as he approaches Japan's #3 Toshi Miura.
#66 Rich Gomes sent in some nice Non-NBT cuts on Flower Cup and Star Cup this week. He will be aiming to reach Sunderland next for #13 in Canada.
#112 Emeric Gosselin hit 5 PRs this week on NTSC as he works his way towards Gabriel Laflamme.
#133 Robin Usher of Japan improved a bit further with over 10 new times, making improvements to some of his weaker ones in particular. Recently active Brian Smith is only just ahead.
#141 Ryan DeMaster and #145 April Thompson rivalry continues as both karters set their PRs. Ryan going for MC1 cut and a BC3 5-lap also. April goes for a larger volume of PRs and gets a slightly larger average finish cut while Ryan remains in the lead. The battle continues... |
