| Super Mario Kart World Championship 2010 Inscription Deadline Just a reminder as I'm sure you are all aware, the SMK World Championship 2010 due to be held near Reims, France between 17th - 22nd August has an inscription deadline for the end of the month. Those of you still wishing to attend, please download an inscription form from the link below, with instructions. http://www.championnat-smk.org/inscription.php New Members No new members this week... New World Records Guillaume Leviach drives a new PAL World Record for Koopa Beach 2 5-lap with 0'55"40 Michael Fried sets a few more NTSC trick World Records; Donut Plains 1 lap of 0'00"58 and Koopa Beach 2 lap with 0'00"68. Movement PAL Activity: #7 Guillaume Leviach landed his first NBT PAL World Record on Koopa Beach 2 5-lap this week after a refining flatboost strategy on the lap which aided in a faster course time after consistent laps. #27 Florian Chollet is continuing to chip away at the average finish gap to McCarthy with another KB2 PR on the lap following the activity of Leviach, and a pair of MC1 NBT times. #34 David Bonne, a Non-NBT specialist in France made a nice return to SMK this week with some new PRs on the Koopa Beach courses (the lovely KB1) and also Mario Circuit 3 where he is reaching the 1'33"00 barrier soon. Swiss Time Trial and Match Race Champion, Braun is just ahead. #43 Mickael Smolen made his fair share of NBT PRs this week, with MC4 a prime target as he goes sub 1'40" there and increases his average finish attack a bit more. #49 Alexandre Burel of France went to improve his Donut Plains 3 which still holds a lot of potential. #89 Samuel Gomez gains another rank over a former Non-NBT specialist of the UK from 90s, Russell Shaw with great new times on BC2, MC4 and RR. However, a powerful rival is fast approaching the Top 90... #91 Euan Johnston, the Time Trial Champion of Scotland now holds 36 out of 40 Scotland Records and his 3 new PRs on Mario Circuit 4 and Donut Plains 3 this week gained him another rank, to place him in competition with Gomez, and also a few more target UK players. #105 Daniel Pabst of Germany is fighting his way through the tough road to the Top 100 but his journey is going very well; with twin PRs on Choco Island 2 he is closing that gap faster every time. #255 Davd Moll of the UK also made his return following solid MK64 activity and has driven 4 new PRs, mainly on the Bowser Castle tracks as he gets used to the feel of SMK. His potential is great as he already passes several karters including Western and Grier to reach 46th in the UK. NTSC Activity: #24 Michael Fried decided to continue his good result from last time and hit new trick World Record times for a few more tracks on NTSC; Donut Plains 1 lap and Koopa Beach 2 lap. #81 Yukiko Takada of Japan makes some good PRs for GV2, DP2 and MC3 and gains another 4 or 5 ranks. The Non-NBT is getting sharper with 1'03"00 and 1'30"00 barriers on GV2 and DP2 reachable soon. #100 Jacob Goldfinger was another surprise comeback this week and what a way to do that than to pull back to the Top 100 of NTSC! He made quite a few new times and a decent cut to pass a few players. #161 Christophe Charignon was able to have some more NTSC SMK time recently and pushed out a strong list of times with a larger average finish cut, landing a few ranks short of Panama Champion Jose Karica. #194 Ryan Trovillion has really fought well against his rivals this week with 16 new PRs and a large average finish cut, including a movement into the Top 200 of NTSC. #195 Alex Vandegrift set fewer PRs than rival Ryan just ahead but still earned a good cut and gained a couple of ranks. Both karters have great potential and we look forward to see a continued rivalry there. |
