| New Members Welcome to... Ryan Trovillion, USA (NTSC 232nd, USA 101st, Warrior C) New World Records Michael Fried returns with a Trick 1-lap NTSC World Record on Mario Circuit 4 of 0'00"58. Movement PAL Activity: #5 Sami Cetin achieved a couple of more UK Record improvements on Mario Circuit 4 this week at a Retro Gaming event during some demos. The 5-lap of which was done by surprise while in conversation to one of the spectators. #75 Christian Wild was certainly going wild this week with a lot of new times across nearly all the boards. He managed to break the legendary PAL benchmark on MC1 by reaching the 1'01"s. His GV2 driving, mainly the fastlap is looking sharp aswell, amongst many other great cuts on the tougher tracks. #90 Samuel Gomez must be out celebrating this evening with a certain result! He also had time for a quick PR on SMK's longest track, Bowser Castle 2 and maintains his rank. #110 Daniel Pabst of Germany passes a couple of karters this week including rival Alexander Walz to reach 12th in Germany. This was achieved with good results on VL1 (with more potential on the course time there), and Rainbow Road. #157 Timur Ahmad was the other very active karter in Germany this week by making a strong climb on some key MC and GV courses. His achievements lifted him up to 18th place in Germany and just ahead of the PAL Women's World Time Trial Champion, Broennecke. #311 Donatien Pauleau of France improves a lot of his times with Koopa this week with Rainbow Road under the 2 mins mark and several other courses levelling out as he picks up the driving strategy well. He can definitely go for the top 300 on his next batch of PRs. NTSC Activity: #24 Michael Fried, the New York State Champion returned to SMK this week to revive some of his previous trick driving methods. He reached a World Record this week on Mario Circuit 4 fastlap with the current technique. #29 Matthias Boucher improves some more of his NTSC times Non-NBT style to sharpen up a few previous PRs and maintains his rank. #63 Cole Gilbert of Canada continued his SMK activity this week producing 6 new PRs. He has gained a couple of more ranks this week, including passing former MC1 specialist Antonio Abdo for 11th Place in Canada. #91 Yukiko Takada gains another rank from the previous week with a pair of new records on Vanilla Lake 1 that cut nearly 2 full average finish points down. She is close to reaching some more players on the ranking just ahead. #148 Chuck Foster passes two karters with 4 new PRs this week; two were on Ghost Valley 2 and a pair from Star Cup courses. Ecuador's Champion is a few short points just ahead. #214 Alex Vandegrift continued a strong level of activity this week with 18 nice new times while working on all of the cups. His latest times are shifting him closer to the Top 200. #254 Nick Meade, the Mario Kart Wii site Champion is really picking up the pace well with a very strong average finish cut this week as he nears the Top 250. He is learning the driving techniques and this will help him to produce the sharper times on MC1 and other tracks; and perhaps rival Alex and karters within the 100th - 200th ranks very soon. |
