24 August 2008: "It's the Final Countdown!"
Super Mario Kart European Championship 26th - 31st August!!

Yes, it is finally here! Players not only from Europe, but one Legend also from USA travels to France this week to compete in the Super Mario Kart European Championships 2008! 8 Countries, over 40 Karters, a Tournament in each mode, overall winners, prizes so huge that you can't even count their value! This is where you wanna be, in the heat of the action, maybe not too near "open ze door" Harold, but in the midst of a lot of great players having a fun week andenjoying the championship.

Reports are that several karters have already flocked to Paris, and will be making their way to Reims by Tuesday when everyone travels (except a few part time travellers). Then the games will begin. I am sure there will be a lot of photos coming out after a week and hopefully some videos of the action.

Keep an eye on the Forums for more news and info on the biggest, funniest and greatest Kart Meet yet!

PAL Activity:

#8 Angelo Di Vano, the Champion of Italy makes another PR cut for DP1 and a further improvement also to MC2 IB fastlap, chipping further points down.

#9 Manuel Babjar the 2nd fastest karter in Germany (PAL) sends in his final PR on CI2 before setting off to singlehandedly represent Team Germany at the CDE. The PR increases his lead from Armin; we wish you good luck at the Tournament!

#12 Guillaume Leviach appears to be making a climb towards Paquin's rank, but slowly cutting away at a few PRs, his VL1 5-lap of which he was particularly pleased with.

#26 Frederic Duarte-Leite has had a very strong week in preparation for the big event. His new NBT times have pushed him up by some margin, earning him this week's POW. Some rivals look to challenge Fredy in the CDE... who could they be? wink

#37 Gene Tagliabue, the Champion of Australia has not stopped this week, with a few more solid times, extending his lead further from Billingsley.

#47 James Tagliabue, with hard work has managed to pass Eric Scott to become the #2 SMK Player in Australia. He is now not far from a lot of famous names in Kart, up to rank #40.

#131 Ian Broom of the UK returns to SMK a little this week with a pair of Bowser Castle 3 PRs, closing in on the sub 1'40" 5-lap.
