05/18/2008: "Lots of Activity"

Over 60 players were active over the last few days, so let's get to the main action.

Movement at the top
The top 2 remain the same this week, although Kevin has been moving slowly towards Alvin. They are only seperated by a whisker, and other results could have an impact soon. Kristopher Will and Tim Shelbourne both made gains on the top 2, but remain for the moment in 3rd and 4th. Lewis Benny materialises into existence and finishes the week in 5th spot just behind Tim. The only person who actually gained a place in the top 10 this week is Cole Gilbert who rose from 8th to 7th even though Lewis's appearance dropped everyone down a place.

Movement (10-20)
On the brink of the top10, and Jonathan Wheatley is threatening a breakthrough, currently sitting in 11th. He would have broken into the top10 if it wasn't for Martin Rudmarker continuing to hold his ground.
Easily the two most impressive movers in the upper echelons this week are Dave Phaneuf (who is no stranger to appearing in the news) and Kevin McAteer. Both of these players matched each other stride for stride climbing from 19th/20th to 15th/16th, both with cuts of 6 and 6.5 respectively.

Movement 20-30
At the moment, if you stop playing for a day, you can be sure that you're dropping places on the list, and this week there have been a core of players making sure to punish anyone who takes their foot off the gas.
Markus Hobelsberger cuts 3.3 to move from 24th to 23rd
Richard Karlsson cuts 6.4 to move from 25th to 24th
Leo Bigorgne cuts 5.7 to move from 27th to 25th
Matt Tanzer cuts 6.4 to move from 28th to 26th and
Benoit Boudreau cuts 5.7 to move from 32nd to 28th.

Movement 30+
Everyone bar one from 29th to 42nd was active over the last 4 days, making it the most active section, but only 4 of those 12 moved up the list.

Eric Baumgartnerwith a 5.1, gains 3 places to finish 31st.
Joe Sebeny with a 4.0, gains 3 places too to finish 33rd.
Manuel Schmitz with a 4.1, gains (because it's the new cool thing to do) 3 places to finish 34th, and
Andreas Rudmarker not wanting to be left out, gains 3 places to finish in 36th place.

And the final, and most impressive move of the week goes to Mark Jones. He made an average finish cut of 16.5, and passed 11 players to move him within striking distance of the main bunch. He finishes the week in 44th.

Other News
We had 9 new players submit their full 64 times to us which brings us up to 77 on the Average finish list. Hopefully over the next few weeks we can pass the 100 mark.
There's been plenty of movement with Site Records. Lewis Benny takes 3 and loses 1, moving him back to the top of the list. Tim Shelbourne and Cole Gilbert both add 2 to their totals.
Stacy Needham, Fernando Moritz dos Santos, Emmanuel Debenest and Mark Schmidt all claim another Record. 6 people lose their only Site Record, and Kevin Borne loses 2 to drop him back into 2nd place with 9.

That's all folks!
