Hello again everyone, got some news for ya. We had a lot of good activity for one week, and once again it seems I will be writing about the same group of people who have been consistently PRing through the month of June. Movement I'm going to be a little non-traditional today. We're starting at the bottom of the ladder and moving towards the top. Who tries climbing a ladder by reaching for the top rung first anyway? So let's start off talking about #72 Paul Tanney. Paul submitted the most PRs once again this week with 11 in total. This bumped him up past another couple of players, and now he is easily within reach of the top 70. 30 "rungs" higher is #42 Frederick Hutchington. He once again had a decent week and is only a couple AF points away from reaching the top 40. Frederick is only 8 AF points away or so from #32 Christophe Charignon and #31 Jonathan Steel. Both of these players seem to be locked in combat as they approach the top 30. (Seriously, they both submitted a grand total of 1 PR each this week. That counts as PR combat, right?) Scoffing from a distance at these shenanigans is #10 Ben Allen. He had a great week by submitting more non-ZZMT WRs (RDP3: 1'01"08, BL flap: 21"97) and cutting half an AF point. He's pretty close to Robert Szabo... will he continue playing and cinch this spot for a single-digit ranking? And last but not least in this update of activity is #1 Andy Lundeen. He submitted 3 PRs this week, the highlight of which was his new CCI course time. (We'll talk about it briefly in the new records section.) He's now at 2.2 AF exactly and is approaching the #1 position quickly on all other charts than AF. Within a few more new records he will be an all-category champ. (Though the number of God times and number of WRs he's still got quite a bit of work to catch up to Seb on.) New Players and New Records No new players this week... or month for that matter I think. Sadness. However, we do have that CCI course record driven by Andy Lundeen. His time of 48"93 beat Seb's 4-year-old time and claimed the God standard at long last. There is only one God time left unclaimed by anyone in this game... RKB1 course. Will anyone try to achieve it? Awards We are now done with the month of June, so that means two extra awards go out besides the POW. However, I think the player of the month is going to be a tough call, and the player of the quarter will require a poll and voting on the forums, so for now I'll just go ahead and award the POW. It goes to Ben Allen for his impressive performance this week. He's high enough on the charts that continuing to improve non-ZZMT style takes a lot of effort, and he definitely showed it this week with his new records. So, congrats to you ben! And that's all for this news update. Hopefully within the next week or two we will have the 2nd POQ in 2012 sorted out as well as the POM for June. Later, and good luck to all! May you climb that AF ladder like a caffeinated monkey who sees a ripe banana at the top. ~Shock |
