Wait… AGAIN another news writer?! Well… Mick right here, and here is my first ever news update on this site! I hope I will be able to write here for a longer time than the previous updaters. This news update will cover almost two months of activity (from June 21st to July 15th ) so I won’t be able to relate every PR that has been set, of course, but I’ll try to talk about the most important records / improvements / movements that occurred during this long period. Next news updates will be up every 2 weeks so those should be slighty more detailed than this one Let’s start !!! News World Champion Sebastian Stellmacher only submitted one PR since his crazy achievement on Rainbow Road… and it’s another WR once again! This time he used his ZZMT skills combined with the best shroom start on Boo Lake to nail a strong 1’11”61, destroying the previous by more than a second!! #2 Mickael Smolen still keeps a little activity in this game. He improved two of his own WR’s lowering successively CCI flap to 11”73, and BC2 flap to 18”89, edging both God times in the process! His other PR’s includes 11”58 on SG flap (#2) and 1’06”71 / 19”31 on LC (#4 and #2). Some high quality PR’s again from #5 Florian Chollet. Some of his best ones were 48”35 / 14”24 on CL (respectively #3 tie, and #4 + God time), 48”30 on rGV1 (#4), or 1’14”76 on rBC3 (#4 tie). He is slowly, but surely, getting closer to the #4 rank on the main chart. #6 Robert Szabo sent in a mix of new and forgotten PR’s, with noticeably a great sub on rDP1 with 59”75 (#10) and a new 11”43 flap on rDP2 (#7). Those allowed him to get under 10.0 on AF score. Lots of PR’s for #9 Daniel Pabst, who finally broke into the top 10! He also became Titan overall by the way. I’ll name some of his best times : PC flap 13”40 (#3!) ; BC1 42”91 / 12”63 (#5 and #8) ; LC 1’08”03 / 20”17 (both #7) ; BC3 1’22”00 (#6) ; rMC1 flap 6”98 (#6) ; rCI1 flap 4”99 (#7) or again rCI2 50”73 (#4). Nice job! He should be able to pass Chris Flemmer without many troubles by the next update. Successful comeback for #11 Alencar Faria who makes a return to the WR tally by performing a 47”76 on rGV1, beating the previous WR by 0”1 on a such competitive track! This record is also his first God time ever, which will probably be followed by some others ;-) We have also to mention his new top 5 PR’s on the “ZZMT tracks”, such as PC 45”86 / 13”45 (#3 and #5), MC 55”28 / 16”09 (#3 and #4), rMC1 45”93 / 6”85 (both #3) and rDP1 58”46 (#3). Like Daniel he reached Titan overall but barely missed the top 10 by a few points. This should be for the next update! In the mean time, the Frenchie #19 Florian Valandina also made a short comeback on non-SC with 6 PR’s, including a new top 10 time on CCI flap with 13”36 (#10 tie) and RR flap 10”79 (#11). #24 Guilherme Arantes, also PR’ed a bit last month, probably influenced by the activity of his Brazilian mate, with 1’39”63 / 31”22 on BC4. Maybe will he be tempted to try some others tracks again? He still lost AF points whatsoever due to the relatively high and recent activity, unlike the German #27 Manuel Babjar who kept playing after the massive amount of PR’s he sent on April-May, this time playing mostly the retro Bowser Castle tracks with new top 20 times, like for instance 1’15”60 on rBC3 ranked #14. #31 Kevin McAteer has been closing the gap towards top 30 with some new little PR’s to barely pass Stacy on the main chart. Possibly he could be a threat for Manuel if he plays a lot again like he did back in December 2009! And here comes a newly and promising player called Andy Lundeen, from the USA, entering directly into the #36 spot. Welcome! He already pulled off some impressive records, with no less than a top 10 on Cheese Island 3lap with 49”10 (#9)!! We are looking forward to some more progress from him in the next months as he has clearly potential to reach the top 20 #41 Tom van Kessel keeps climbing the charts as usual, only 1 spot higher this time, despite sending dozens of PR’s these past two months. Sweet time on YD 3lap with 1’07”00 (#11)! He should keep going his efforts again for top 40 since right on his tail is approaching fastly MKDS pro #42 Timur “for POY” Ahmad, who since the last update has improved more than half of his PR’s. He is owning on beach tracks with an epic sub on SGB 3lap with 49”98 (#12) and CCI 3lap with 58”71 (#14), with to boot a first Titan time on SGB flap (13”75, #20). As a consequence, #47 Chuck Foster lost a bunch of places with only PR sent recently on rDP2. Another player to congratulate also is #50 Robert Lee who breaks into the top 50 after taking Irish Champion title back from Lacey, hitting 50+ PR’s, most of them from July. #64 Christophe Charignon and #94 Zack Weber are the only players making improvements on the second half of the main charts, both with minimal cuts. Christophe hit some new top 50 times, with even a cool top 40 on the tough rBC1 track, while Zack focused on beating his weakest times, getting rid of all his Newbie times. Finally, unranked played Matt Davis was also active but has yet to complete again half of his timeset to appair on the charts. See you in August, and good luck to all the remaining MKSC players (Seb, Karel, Pierre, Tom…) in the Karter Contest!!! |
