News: Ok, so its been a long two weeks. Apologies again for no written update last week. Twas extremely busy at work and home. Despite the activity the top end of the charts hasn’t changed that much. Positionally from what I can see David Smith was the only person to pass someone (me!). Vincent Zee had a bad two weeks dropping places and his older times, achieved with older strats, are being taken down one by one by those around him. Yahoo groups has been playing up a tad as well so don’t freak if you don’t see the times being approved so quickly. You should just post on the MB under the appropriate thread just to check. Its worth noting that the av fin for the top 5 players is pretty spaced out compared to two weeks ago where it was significantly tighter. And Bens catching Sami for UK number 1. Players: Matt Ellis #19 – A busy 2weeks for Matt as he zooms up the charts to #19. Matt clearly has the top ten in his sights and his some nice times Chris Flemmer #2 – Fighting strong and still the challenger to Pierre after tasting the crown. Chris has been active and has a 41-37 lead (largely to flaps) over Pierre. Basically this means that if Chris works on a couple of his worst av fin times he’ll pass Pierre. Chris worked hard to bring down his RP time after Pierre got the strat and then Chris followed up with a nice CL time 14’61! Florian Vaz – Continues to pr, chipping away at his times such as RP and SGB. Pierre L'Hoëst #1 – Pierre has made improved SR’s in the last fortnight including obliterating the RP 3lap with the new water-sliding-magic-conjuring strat. His BC3 flap (see MB for the vid) is also very tasty. David Smith #12 – David passes Tom Gaffikin to gain the number 12 spot. Some impressive cuts in the second of the two weeks just gone. Michael Fried #6 – After being passed by Ben Michael hasn’t been very active but made a nice Av Fin cut this week to keep the pressure on. His PC and CI2 flaps were definitely quick. Ben Allen #5 – Ben has been no slouch recently and is in now in pursuit of the UK number 1 slot held by Sami. It is no longer a slaughtering and Sami only has it 45-34 and surprisingly evenly distributed through the gba and snes tracks. Ben hit quite a few flaps among his pr spree. Cole Gilbert #20 – Still relatively new to this site Cole starts his battle with the aforementioned Matt Ellis (I’ll knock up a rivalry for that). Starting strong Cole has submitted batch after batch of prs and leads Matt on the laps. Snorre Håkonsen #23 – Snorre sent in a couple of prs the strongest being CCI RMC2 flaps and is now even closer to passing Daniel P. Simon Laflamme #3 – His average finish might be being eaten away by the lower top ten players but Simon has proved his worth by submitting some strong prs on RR 3lap and taking down the MC3lap with a slightly weird shroom strat 0-0-3! Luca Barbetta AKA “The Turtle” #9 – Taking things slowly Luca has made a pr this week on Rainbow Road flap with a 10’83. Stefano Piazza – A couple of prs from Stefano (SGB and RR), try to get a full set in so we can rank you in the charts Frances Penfold #28 – Submitted a batch of 24pr over twelve courses. He’s wisely invested in a second copy of MKSC so he can race against his ghosts on all the gba courses. Frances is behind Dave Phaneuf and will pass him with another batch like that. Henry Heikkinen #21 – Henry was pushed out of the top 20 by Matt and Cole and has started to fight back with also a large av fin cut. New players: Aaron Schwartz – Belgium Tyler Worley - USA Welcome to the site! (And there’s nothing wrong with submitting 1-tries we all started there once) POW: 2 POWS and a POQ this week you lucky lot you! First week goes to Pierre L'Hoëst for the new RP strat and being Su’s time. Second week goes to Ben Allen for a significant Av Fin cut but higher than the 3 who deserve honourable mentions Matt, Cole and Henry. Chris – you’re efforts don’t go unnoticed either. POQ: Ok – tough one here, first big tough decision. POQ goes to Chris Flemmer. Although Ben did come top of the poll Chris takes this because he got to number 1 and number 1 is significantly harder than number 5. Ben is a worthy runner up and also big mentions to Fried too. Ok, I’m exhausted. |
