Movement #2 Ben Stoneman played a bit of RR this week, hitting some nice times on sc of 1'55"201 and 37"541. Ben isn't making very big cuts, but slowly and surely he is closing the gap that is between him and champion Thomas Bolton. The remaining gap is down to 0.7 on PRB, somewhat smaller than the larger 1.1 AF gap on NonPRB. He also played RR nonsc, hitting 1'57"913 and 38"797 dual Gods. PRB #9 Abel Marques continues storming towards the top, this week managing a 0.8281 AF cut. Despite that he didn't pass anyone, he is moving forward towards closing the huge gap between him and #8 Cole Gilbert. Abel also hit a YF flap of 15"246, in attempt to reclaim his WR. He was close, but he's gonna have to keep pushing if he really wants it; will he be the first to sub 15"2 there? #34 Lenny Andreev continues his journey up the ranks after become #2 Aussie, cutting 1.5000 AF this week to move up three spots. #40 Pol Gonzalez had a similar cut of 1.5937 to pass three players as well and move into the top 40. Pol is now within 3 AF points of taking the Spanish crown from #37 Christian Martin Lapeira. Both Lenny and Pol missed out on standard rank-ups by less than 0.1 each, and should make it to Titan B and Titan C respectively to close out August. #57 Joep van Gelder had another one of his many strong weeks, chopping off 5.2187 AF points to move up five spots. He is now getting dangerously close to joining the top 50, as well as becoming #2 Dutchie, with about 12 AF points to take down both. Unfortunately, Joep just barely missed out on Titan overall, and now sits at 10.5625 Hero A. Finishing off the top 100 were #84 Jay Kreeler -4.4064 and #89 Dallas Wilde 13.2501. Jay's cut moved him up 6 spots, which included passing 3 fellow americans. Dallas jumped up even move, moving up 13 spots well into the top 100 now. Strangely, Dallas is a bit further ahead in ARR. Both became Hero C overall this week, with Dallas now sitting at 13.0312 vs Jay's 13.3125. Movement outside the top 100 included #198 Austin Gates -14.9530 (#64 USA), #247 Ben Sackville -28.2190 (#19 Canada, Advanced C to Advanced B), #255 Daniel Pabst -4.4840 (#17 Germany), #271 Thomas van Leeuwen -97.2190 (#20 Netherlands, Intermediate A to Advanced C), #299 Marc Schwartz -4.8440 (#23 Netherlands), #370 Haddon Power-Cohen -27.6570 (#16 Australia, Intermediate C to Intermediate B), #439 Andrew Tram -38.3430 (#28 Canada, Beginner A to Intermediate D) and #519 Alvaro Fababu -17.9380 (#8 Spain, Beginner C to Beginner B). New Records There were 1 WR improved (blue) and one non-prb times (pink). The WR battle continues! After going back and forth numerous times and Marshall finding the new strat, センジュ jumped into the frenzy. センジュ took the RR flap WR down to 38"201, also using the new LeVett Road Skip Deluxe! For nonprb, センジュ holds the RR flap at 38"201. Awards Two guys were really gunning for it this week with a superb performance like last week and an even stronger one. While reaching Hero C from Hero D from just last week is nice, it seemed to be overshadowed by the triple digit AF cut which is quite rare! He absolutely smashed everyone in terms of total new times driven so for his massive karting, Thomas van Leeuwen wins the POW for the third week of August, crazy dutch smash virus! It's all coming down to this!!! Check out Karter Contest 2k8!!! Who will survive??? Movement It looks like #2 Ben Stoneman has been reading the news updates because he got his last time up into the top ten. His #9 time on RR sc flap of 37"707 moves him up 0.0312 points on prb AF once again inching closer to #1 Thomas Bolton. Besides that, nothing much from the toppies yet they have given the little challenges quite a try especially using BLS on LC2 getting flaps under 27 seconds there. Well maybe the WR will use it one day, just not very soon. There is a reason for this madness! Also not moving much is #9 Michele Magnaterra who's two new times on RR were not enough to hold off #17 Abel Marques who moved up to #9 on the prb charts now. Michele at least can have some satisfaction with sub 2 minutes there getting 1'59"687 and almost a sub 39 flap to boot with 39"016. Abel's pr's included some new times on DS getting 1'31"772 and 29"699, both Myth C and top ten! Best of all was his own sub 1'14 run on F8C. Much like #5 Sascha Brauninger, he did not get under the sub by much coming up with a 1'13"987, crazy! For now, it seems like Abel has his eyes set on the UK #2 spot on prb with not much more AF to cut before reaching #14 Matthew Ord. Again, his LC2 and SR flaps continue to weigh him down significantly. No one active again until #43 Pol Gonzalez who moved up three spots this week. He got 4 new times which were BP 5lap 43"367 Titan C, BB 3lap 1'49"364 Titan D, RR flap 40"016 Hero A, and WS flap 39"194 Titan D. Since he is out of the AF graveyard, he can start passing some more players without a huge load of new times now. Only 4 more AF points to go before catching non-prb Spanish champ #36 Christian Lapiera. Pol almost moved up on prb charts to #37. There are a trio of active players farther down with #58 Kevin Borne -3.4063, #61 Alvaro Arroyo -2.7969, and #62 Joep van Gelder -5.5625. All of them reached Hero A this week and moved up a few spots on the charts. As their AF cuts show, Joep scored the most new times with 12, Kevin 10, and Alvaro 9. Each of them got their share of decent times which was responsible for their large cuts. A race to the top 50 would be nice here but site activity has not been a huge forte as of lately but you never know. New guy #91 Jay Kreeler won't just let himself frop out like so many other n00bs by continuing his pr streak with a 4.2500 AF cut this week. He got the most new times out of anyone so far and made some noble efforts on prb also where he is #88. Compared to some of his other times, Jay's DP1 55"809 / 18"286 and PC 54"326 / 17"910 this week proves he has to be doing something right! More interestingly, he dazzled with his driving out of bounds skill on YC which you can watch here. This is just further proof that there could still be some shortcuts lurking but don't hold your breath. All it can take is just something very lucky or random to happen. Too bad some tracks do a good job with check points. New Records There was 1 WR improved (blue) and 1 non-prb time (pink). Finally a WR battle! Marshall LeVett decided it was time to play some RR non-sc flap taking the WR less than a day after 水色 beat the older time by センジュ. Marshall stepped it up though by making the corner cutter to reach the corkscrew sooner save time by going sub 38"500 first with 38"468. What was more exciting was 水色 returning the favor taking the WR back without the new technique reaching 38"455. But in the end, Marshall would trump it again switching to the second lap getting a much faster time and current WR of 38"350! You can watch the replay here. For nonprb, Marshall holds the RR flap at 38"350. Awards Once again, biggest cutter at the top and passing several players was someone who was just on the tip of the top 100. He floated around here before but his explosion of new times nearly pushed him over the edge. For reaching Hero D and chopping 20% off his AF, Dallas Wilde wins the POW for the second week of August! Movement Still at it is #2 Ben Stoneman inching closer to #1 Thomas Bolton with his AF almost under 3 on non-prb and 0.8437 AF points away on prb. Ben improved his BC flap again coming dangerously close to another record getting 36"666, insert joke about 666. Also in his pr workshop was BP which is probably the most annoying to play but he was rewarded for his efforts getting 42"974 Myth C and the epic flap sub with 8"199. Long at last all of his times in non-prb are in the top 10! Quite a feat since Thomas does not fit into this category thanks to RR 3lap. Overall, Ben's only time outside the top 10 is the RR sc flap which does not come as a surprise since this is the toppies' worst nightmare! Looks like #8 Leonardo Assisi sent in some pr's after a few months of inactivity coming close to passing #7 Cole Gilbert. He only cut a tenth or so off his AF so nothing too big with couple #5 times on CM with 1'48"283 and 35"479 both ranking God. To go along with that were a few prb times getting LC2 1'15"527, CI2 46"802 and 15"229. Right below, #9 Michele Magnaterra was active again this week but has some huge AF ground to cover before passing anyone again on non-prb or prb. Still chugging away, he made some decent cuts including BB 35"253 God, BC 36"755 God, MC1 42"001 God, FS 1'39"366 and 32"173 both God. It sure sounds redundant but Michele is up to 23 God times in all which means he has a long ways to go before catching fellow country man #4 Giulio Centrone whose AF is almost three times less than his! Michele also improved his CI2 prb 3lap to 50"326 which is painfully far from where he places his best splits at. Who knows, maybe one day he will get consistent enough and really start storming the charts again? Sending in a couple times again is #14 Matthew Ord working on the MMF with 1'04"969 and 21"169, both ranked Titan B. More action was going down below though with #22 Nicolas Barco moving up a spot on non-prb and two on prb. His prb pr spree included DH 22"211, MC 29"808, MC1 38"988 and 12"827, KB2 41"375 and 13"311, RLC2 1"17"980, CI2 15"550, and SG 20"408. As usual, he tried to include some non-prb times getting DH 1"13"489 Titan B and MC 1"32"736 Titan C. If he can keep up this sort of pace, it will not be long until he passes #20 Paul Gourdon on non-prb for the #2 France. More importantly he is within reach of the France prb Champ title held by Paul at #11. Just a matter of kart devotion for Nicolas to reach these goals. #37 Lenny Andreev also got some new times this but wasn't able to move up chart wise. On prb he took his F8C flap down to 24"576 which ranks 19th and MC1 flap to 12"839 coming in at 23rd. Not too shabby for someone who has times ranging from 3rd to 93rd! If he can get some luck from Ben and stronger motivation he could easily make a run to the top 30. For non-prb Lenny got DS 30"324 Hero A, MC1 42"157 and 13"366 both God. Ranking up high with the big boys is quite an honor on some courses and with just 4 God times I don't think Lenny has shown his true potential yet. Not any higher than last week either, #45 Pol Gonzalez keeps edging his way up the charts. Not to worry though because he passed two players on prb to join the top 40 there at #38. Most of his AF cut from non-prb courses though with PG 1'30"853 Titan C and 29"019 Titan B, BC 1'58"483 and 38"299 both Titan E, F8C 1'15"929 Titan B, LM 1'35"791 Titan C, FS 1'42"026 Titan B and 33"029 Myth C. His couple of prb times were F8C flap 24"854 and SG flap 21"273. Below on on a much faster pace is #47 Florian Lorang cutting 4 AF points and moving up to Titan D overall. What's more surprising is his dedication to prb times reaching #25 with a 7 point AF cut there with all of his new times, yikes! He got more times than I care to list here, but he pointed out that he got a French record with CI2 prb flap 15"363, nice work. He got some other strong prb times hence his huge jump there. Unfortunately, it seems his DS is giving him problems too which is the only reason why a lot of players stop this game or walk away from it all together. Finishing up the top 100 were the busiest players this week. It seems like #62 Alvaro Arroyo is finding his Switz spunk jumping over ten places and nearly reaching Hero A overall from just getting to Hero B at the start of the month. With good times at his level comes good cuts and he sure got his money's worth on that 12 point AF cut. More exciting to me at least is #93 Jay Kreeler who finally joined the top 100. So many weeks of updating I saw this guy hovering near the boundary but after I don't know how many months he just comes by and kicks some serious ass to finally make it this week. He also jumped over ten spots and ranked up to Hero D overall thanks to his 11 point AF cut. Great efforts from both you two! New Records There was 1 WR improved (blue) and 2 non-prb times (pink). Can it be? Yes, someone got a WR but he is not on this site though. Once again Japan strikes with 水色 getting the RR non-sc flap with 38"514. He does not beat センジュ by much and only trails his 3lap by a little being the second player to sub 1'57 non-sc with 1'56"945. Not sure if it has been mentioned in a news update like this before but 水色 also holds the WS 3lap with the only sub 1'55 time of 1'54"923, live replay. Awards In terms of chart cutting, one guy was the biggest beast of all. Cutting around 20% of his AF and jumping up another rank almost from last week made his pr spree especially strong. For his aggressive non-stop pace, Alvaro Arroyo wins the POW for the first week of August! Favre is on the Jets ~ETCH

Movement All though you can't see the improvement, #2 Ben Stoneman got one new time this week and it was on BC flap tying #7 Cole Gilbert with a 36"781. Other than that, the Aussie giant slumbered at the end of the month. So who was moving on up this week to the east side which also happens to be little Italy? Unless you don't pay attention to the site it was #9 Michele Magnaterra stepping up one rank on both charts. Cutting about .5 AF points on either side, his 5 new times were enough to get the job done. For PRB he got new LC2 flap 25"124 and MC flap 29"399. The question still remains if BLS can grab the WR here one day. Lastly, he improved BP 5lap to 42"921 Myth C, FS 3lap to 1'39"607 God, and BB flap to 35"253 God. His ARR is almost under 3 now still ranked Myth C overall. Who knows, maybe if he can start doing 3laps as well as his flaps he could actually reach his best splits! A lopsided battle between UK players sort of rages below with #15 Matthew Ord grabbing God times on CM with 1'48"482 and 35"681. Lurking dangerously close now though is #17 Abel Marques who made the biggest cuts at the top by beating over twenty of his pr's. His effort resulted in the big deuce cuts on both charts passing some players in the process and now #10 on prb! Where to start with his new times, can you say #3 time on YC with 1'26"273? His top ten times also included YC flap 27"886, FS 1'39"038 and 32"135, LM 3lap 1'34"338, SG prb flap 20"255, CI2 prb flap 15"282, PC prb flap 17"252, MC1 prb 38"518 and 12"593, MC prb 3lap 1'31"018, and F8C prb flap 24"268. Quite a roll of destruction Abel has going here on the top of the charts. He finished off nearly reaching Myth D overall this week but just a couple more pr's should do the trick. Maybe SR flap is a good place to start! Hovering below is #23 Nicolas Barco who is just as busy cranking out nearly the same AF cut with just 7 new times. He passed two player on non-prb and three players on prb moving up to #16 there! He worked on TTC some more getting 1'35"063 Titan A and 30"555 Myth A. Still balancing out some times, he played some KB2 and DH nonprb getting 43"363 Titan C and 22"744 Myth E respectively with a DS flap of 30"303 Hero A also. As for prb times, Nicolas got MC 3lap 1'32"454 and DH flap 22"256. He moved up to #2 France on prb charts and is almost approaching that mark on non-prb also. Like Abel, he finish off coming close to the next standard so let's hope he reaches Myth E overall soon! Well you can't be superman every week, #37 Lenny Andreev took it easy just racing two new times on YF with 47"803 Myth D and 15"607 Myth B. A little farther down #45 Pol Gonzalez continues his quest to reach Spain #1 on non-prb moving up one rank here and up to #40 on prb. With 15 new times, he was able to get a one point AF cut and accordingly move up one spot each. He got CM 1'50"572 Titan A and 35"981 Myth C this week so you know he has the chops to make it farther. Active again, #65 Joep van Gelder sent in 4 new times getting close to Hero A overall with F8C 1'16"659 Titan E, BC2 1'36"445 Hero A and 31"059 Titan D, and BB 3lap 1'51"436 Hero C. All Joep needs now is a pr smash virus like he had when driving his BB flap 35"356 God. Now we all know Switzerland's top 2 karters but who is there #3 player? Look no further because that is #74 Alvaro Arroyo who sent in some updated times getting a huge 8 AF point cut. Unlike everyone else in the top 100, he managed to reach the next standard reaching Hero B overall with an ARR of 12.4531. Sure, he is not getting WR's at the moment but who knows? The Kart Gods work in mysterious ways. For some very strong times this week and busiest karter at the top, Abel Marques wins the POW for the fourth week of July! It was a weird month with some jumps here and there but not consistent activity all around. One exception though was a toppie who slowly but surely made the biggest jump in his kart ranks yet. Reaching the top 10 let alone the top 9 is no easy feat and he even scored a nonprb record along the way. Chugging along with more and more God times he is starting to look like a threat if he can lay it down on the 3laps, so for his constant work at reaching the top Michele Magnaterra wins the POM for the month of July!
