Movement

This week we have a new #2 player!!! Giulio Centrone raced the few pr's he needed to just get pass #3 Thomas Bolton. Giulio's RR 3lap 1'58"553 Myth A and CM 3lap 1'49"174 Myth B were enough to get him that number two spot, well done!!! With an AF of 2.9375, Giulio is just in front of Thomas at 2.9531. Giulio is also closing in on overall Myth A finishing with an ARR of 1.7344 Myth B this week. As I was writing the news for this week, Giulio decided to beat his over four month old WR on DS 3lap today by driving a 1'31"675 Myth B. It makes this track one step closer to the God standard of sub 1'31, nice job!!! #1 Sascha Brauninger drove one new time this week and of course was a new non-prb WR. Sascha got 55"401 on the PC 3lap with the splits (18"250 - 18"613 -18"538). Other than this, there was no other activity in the top 5.

#6 Timur Ahmad continued to drive some nice times this week to keep his position safe. He is close to overall ARR of Myth D with 4.6563 Myth E this week. #8 Paul Gourdon shook up the ranks as he updated a new batch of times which helped him move up two places in AF and became the newest Myth ranked player finishing at 5.4219 Myth E this week, good job!!! With his new times, this pushed inactive players farther back which helped #11 Kevin McAteer make some jumps in the ranks. Though his AF cut was only 0.2969, his new times got him pass #13 Fabio Sacco and #12 Lars Stelzig. Kevin is also close to the top ten with an AF of 13.3750 while the guy who always seems to be in the top ten, #10 Simon Birker has 13.2344. Kevin's best times this week were easily FS 3lap 1'40"759 Myth C and FS flap 32"771 God, way to go!!! With an ARR of 6.5938 Titan B, he is closing in on that Titan A overall. This was the only activity for the top 20 this week.

Continuing last week's battle, #21 Robert Szabo and #22 Josh Habben kept smashing their times and once again made some nice jumps in AF and ARR. Each player moved up 3 positions in AF and are ranked Titan D overall with Robert reaching this standard this week. After quite sometime, Robert finally made it back into the top 5 USA at #5. Josh also moved up in the USA ranks coming in at #6 and now California's #1, congrats!!! Robert has been Florida Champion since he joined the site in 2005. Both of them scored some nice times this week with Josh on FS 3lap and flap 1'42"270 Titan C and 33"062 Myth D and Robert on AF 3lap and flap 1'47"875 Titan D and 35"364 Titan C.

Finishing off the top 40 is #36 Christian Martin Lapeira moving up two places and #37 Stacy Needham moving up three places this week. Chrisitian hit some nice times this and best were his LC2 non-prb times with a 3lap of 1'20"535 Titan D and flap of 26"084 Titan B. Chrisitian easily holds onto his #1 Spain title but Stacy still has some ways to go if he wants a #1 UK title. He managed to pass #38 Jordan Ward to take the #3 UK spot. Chrisitian and Stacy are still ranked Hero A overall and still have some ways to go in ARR before getting to Titan E. UK Champ #31 James Leare drove a top ten time on BC 3lap with 1'56"853 this week as well.

It was a busy week again for those near the top 50. #41 Nicolas Barco submitted a few times this week which earned him an ARR of 11.0000 Hero A. More than 3 AF points behind, #42 Jeff Ferencz-Nagy also hit some nice times this week earning an AF cut of 2.7657. He is not far from Hero A overall with an ARR of 11.7656 Hero B. Being one of those players with really good RR times, he improved his time again and drove a 2'00"150 Titan A, way to go!!! Moving up two places this week were #45 Jean-Philipe Dumais (#4 Canada) and #46 Erik Reynolds (#10 USA). Close to the top 50 was #51 Chase Peleshaty (#6 Canada) who moved up 8 places from last week.

For the rest of the top 100, #75 Matthew Ord -0.8438 (#7 UK), #78 Ted Kim -8.0937 (#20 USA), #86 Michele Magnaterra -16.3129 (#6 Italy, Expert B to Expert A) and #97 Chuck Foster -0.4530 (#28 USA).

Movement outside the top 100 included #119 Pierre Signamarcheix -1.1560 (#17 France), #121 Stefano Piazza -2.4840 (#7 Italy), #122 Rene Bauer -0.3440 (#8 Germany), #144 Andy Choi -22.3430 (#2 Hong Kong, Advanced B to Expert E), #148 Frances Penfold -1.2030 (#44 USA), #158 Pol Gonzalez -5.5620 (#4 Spain), #195 Christophe Georges -0.6720 (#33 France), #243 Kevin Liang -2.8280 (#9 Australia), #272 Boy de Wit -19.6720 (#22 Netherlands, Intermediate B to Intermediate A), #307 Arnaud Schorr -17.3280 (#43 France, Intermediate C to Intermediate B) and #391 Chris Wodarski -9.0470 (#141 USA).

New Records

There was 1 WR improved this week (blue) and 1 non-prb time (pink).

For the new WR this week, Giulio Centrone improved the track which he continues to dominate on and that is none other than DS. Giulio got a new 3lap which finally beats the 1'31"841 he set back on December 5th 2006. Getting closer to that God time, Giulio drove a great time of 1'31"675. Congrats for having the only WR this week!!!

As for non-prb, Sascha improved his PC 3lap record to 55"401. It was a pretty solid run so it's hard to imagine how much faster this time can really get!!!

Awards

Once in awhile he gets a really good week of pr's and this was one of them. With an AF cut of 3.6250 he was able to move up three places from #24 to #21. He also reached Titan D overall this week with an ARR cut of 0.5938. Not only did he manage to move up through the top 30 but also regained a top 5 spot in the USA. In recognition for another strong week, Robert Szabo wins the POW for the 4th week of April.

It was a great month for many players but one player made such absurd AF and ARR cuts he was hard to ignore. He started at #219 this month and ended up at #86!!! Also some crazy stuff in ARR going from Advanced C to Expert A overall in this short time period. In recognition for his very quick rise through the rankings, Michele Magnaterra wins the POM for the month of April, keep it up!!!

Italy Rising

Etch @ Friday, April 20th   [link]

Movement

The excitement is building as #3 Giulio Centrone continues his rise in the rankings and now has his AF under 3.0000 and ARR under 2.0000. There is only 0.0156 AF points separating Giulio from #2 Thomas Bolton who he should be able to pass next week with a couple new pr's and possibly make his way to a #1 title. Giulio was also able to gain two non-prb records this week and they were dual Gods on LC1 with 1'12"973 and 24"010. #1 Sascha Brauninger reported one new pr this week being LM flap 30"566. He must not be too worried about Giulio taking the title yet, time to battle with Leeroy Jenkins some more!!!

The rest of the top 5 have been quiet except USA champion #5 Nick Welch who had a 0.3906 AF cut this week to keep his distance from #6 Timur Ahmad and #7 Ben Stoneman. Ben once again had a very strong week and gave Timur a scare for possibly passing him up but Timur was able to produce some nice times this week to defend his position with an AF of 9.1250 and Ben with an AF of 9.7656. In ARR, Timur is now sub 5.0000 and Ben became the newest Myth player this week ranked in at 5.1875 Myth E, congrats!!!

The next player to make some strides in the rankings was #11 Lars Stelzig who became the newest Titan A at 6.3750 and passed #12 Fabio Sacco to get closer to the top ten. With an AF of 13.1719, Lars is not that far from #10 Simon Birker at 12.9531. Right behind, #13 Kevin McAteer is closing the large gap that he once had with the other players near the top ten with an AF of 13.6719 this week putting him in striking distance of Fabio at 13.2500. Finishing the top 20 is #16 Louis Vivares who made some nice pr's this week and is pretty close to reaching the top 15 with an AF of 21.7188.

The only players active in the 20's were #24 Robert Szabo and #25 Josh Habben. Although Robert would rather be playing mk64 or some other game at the moment he felt the pressure to play again as Josh made a strong climb in the ranks threatening his USA rank. Robert is no stranger to the top five USA but it will take some work to get there again after being #6, #7, #8 for several months. They both had a good week with 2.7500 and 3.7031 AF cuts respectively. Josh was able to reach Titan D overall this week with 9.3750 while Robert is still hovering at Titan E with 9.6875. Some times from Josh included DH 3lap 1'13"141 Titan A and DH flap 22"773 Myth E. Some times from Robert included dual Titan A's on the only track he held some non-prb records on, which was LC1 with 1'14"416 and 24"456.

Finally a new UK #1!!! #31 James Leare went the distance this week with a 0.9219 AF cut getting him pass #32 Thomas McConville. James also became the newest Titan player this week ranking in at 10.4531 ARR. Finishing up the top 40 were #37 Sean Dyer -1.1406 (#8 USA), #38 Christian Martin Lapeira -0.7813 (#1 Spain) and #40 Stacy Needham -2.1406 (#4 UK).

Players who recently made it to the top 50 continue to hit some pr's and make their moves in the ranks. #44 Steven Glen did not make any moves in AF but was able to make it to overall Hero B from Hero C last week with 12.5156 to 12.2656 ARR. Right behind, #45 Jasper Viskens has been working on that WS lakitu shortcut for the prb table and was successful in beating the fastest non-sc time on the site with a flap of 37"824. He also completed a 3lap time of 1'56"355. I remember #4 Fabien Da Silva held the WS flap non-sc record without the hill jump with egg1. Fabien used his shroom to go around the large zipper hill at the end which is different from Jasper's shroom spot. There is still some major potential on the sc time so if you ever get bored with BLS, there are some WR's to get!!! Either way it's Jasper's first #1 time on the site so congrats!!! Finishing the top 50 are #47 Jean-Philippe Dumais who made it to overall Hero B this week and #48 Erik Reynolds who joined the top 50 this week.

For the rest of the top 100, #59 Chase Peleshaty -1.4844 (#6 Canada, Hero D to Hero C), #66 Vincent Zee -7.6093 (#4 Netherlands, Hero E to Hero D), #77 Matthew Ord -3.1250 (#7 UK), #80 Jukka Harju -0.2969 (#1 Finland), #85 Ted Kim -0.9844 (#23 USA) and #98 Michele Magnaterra -33.7340 (#6 Italy, Expert D to Expert B and joins the top 100).

Movement outside the top 100 included #115 Benjamin Zeller -3.3290 (#7 Germany, Expert D to Expert C), #116 Joe Sweeney -0.4840 (#36 USA), #122 Rene Bauer -1.7810 (#8 Germany), #123 Stefano Piazza -4.2970 (#7 Italy), #124 Anthony Piraino -1.4840 (#40 USA), #132 Rene Faucheur -1.1720 (#20 France), #149 Frances Penfold -5.9530 (#45 USA), #162 Pol Gonzalez -2.9850 (#4 Spain, Advanced B to Advanced A), #181 Kevin Emm -9.9530 (#51 USA, Advanced C to Advanced B), #243 Kevin Liang -20.5310 (#9 Australia, Intermediate A to Advanced E), #398 Chris Wodarski -13.8910 (#144 USA, Beginner B to Beginner A and joins the top 400) and #406 Warren Macready -7.4530 (#39 UK, Beginner B to Beginner A).

New Records

There were 0 WR's improved this week, only 2 non-prb times (pink).

As Giulio made strides in AF and ARR this week he was able to hit two records. Some barriers that have been waiting to be broken were sub 1'13 and sub 24 on LC1. Just beating out Sascha Brauninger's times of 1'13"090 and 24"049, Giulio was able to break one of these barriers with 1'12"973 on the 3lap and just falling shy of that sub 24 with 24"010 on the flap. Both of them are God times and brings Giulio's total God times to 26, Sascha at 35 and Thomas Bolton at 41.

Awards

With absurd AF cuts from not only this week but the past month, his progress has been very rapid. He started back in mid March at #276 Intermediate A. With large AF and ARR cuts each week he just kept flying up the charts. Last week he made over a 70 AF cut to jump from Advanced B to Expert D. This week he made over a 30 AF cut to jump from Expert D to Expert B to just make it into the top 100. For his very strong progress this week and reaching the top 100 very quickly, Michele Magnaterra wins the POW for the 3rd week of April, keep it up!!!

YF flap Battle and a SR WR

Etch @ Friday, April 13th   [link]

Movement

Once again, the usual players in the top 5, #3 Giulio Centrone - 3.2656 AF and 2.1563 Myth B, #4 Fabien Da Silva - 4.9844 AF and 3.2344 Myth C and #5 Nick Welch - 6.9844 AF and 4.2656 Myth D had another good week with some new times and WR's. Giulio continues his way to the top and is less than 0.5000 AF away from #2 Thomas Bolton and less than 1.000 AF away from #1 Sascha Brauninger. This week Giulio's new times included BB 3lap and flap 1'46"810 God and 35"126 God, AF flap 34"840 Myth A and LC2 3lap and flap 1'19"560 Titan A and 25"786 Myth D. Fabien concentrated his efforts on YF flap this week in an epic battle with Nick but also got some other pr's including KB2 3lap 42"888 Myth D and BB 3lap and flap 1'47"302 Myth A and 35"283 God. Nick was able to make some movement in AF and ARR getting his AF under 7.000 and reaching the overall Myth D standard this week. Best of all was his YF flap of 15"406!!! His other times included YF 3lap 47"272 God, RR 3lap and flap 2'00"652 Titan B and 39"479 Titan B, TTC 3lap and flap 1'34"342 Myth D and 30"574 Myth A, DKP 3lap 1'50"364 Titan C, DH 3lap 1'12"604 Myth D and LM flap 30"701 Myth B. A quick WR by #6 Timur Ahmad with SR 3lap 1'40"289 Myth A. It's a race to get the God time now!!!

A new threat to the top ranks emerged this week as Australian Champion #7 Ben Stoneman went on a pr rampage with a 1.9219 AF cut which moved him well into the top 10 from #11 last week. Ben also cut 0.7344 off his ARR this week ending with 5.7031 Titan A, close to reaching Myth E overall after just becoming Titan A last week!!! Some of the several times he hit this week include CI2 flap 15"928 Myth D, YC 3lap and flap 1'26"894 Myth A and 28"170 Myth C, KB2 flap 13"384 God and MMF flap 20"924 Myth D. Unable to fend off Ben from passing him, #8 Josh Griffin got a few pr's this week which were LM 3lap and flap 1'35"048 Titan A and 30"893 Myth D and RR 3lap 2'00"786 Titan B. The next person we see with some major pr's is #18 Louis Vivares continuing his climb in the top 20 with a 1.5000 AF cut and reached overall Titan C this week at 8.2500 ARR. His times included KB2 flap 13"447 Myth B, MB 3lap and flap 1'13"690 Hero B and 23"985 Hero A and TTC 3lap 1'34"387 Myth D. #13 Kevin McAteer and #17 Jack Murphy hit some new times this week but they did not see much improvement in AF due to Ben's recent activity. Kevin got a bunch of pr's including F8C flap 24"972 Titan B, LM 3lap 1'36"295 Titan D, AF 3lap 1'47"580 Titan C, YC 3lap and flap 1'28"410 Titan C and 28"451 Titan B and CM 3lap 1'51"454 Titan C. Jack's new times included WP flap 40"149 Titan A, PG flap 29"075 Titan B, MC1 flap 13"456 Myth C and FS flap 33"328 Titan B. #26 Robert Szabo did not muster many pr's but was able to get his first Myth times on RR with 1'59"632 and 39"291. Now in the top 30, #28 Josh Habben joined with a 2.4531 AF cut this week. With his new times he got his ARR under 10.0000 with 9.9531 Titan E. Best of all were his YC times of 1'27"943 and 28"361 both being ranked Titan A.

Outside the top 30 we see #32 James Leare ever so close to UK #1 with less than a tenth of an AF point between him and #31 Thomas McConville. #34 Daniel Marass made a small AF cut this week with only 0.2031. Next up were two people updating some older times including #38 Sean Dyer and #39 Christian Martin Lapeira with respective AF's of 41.7656 and 41.7969. Their pr's besides moving them into the top 40 also earned them Hero A overall this week with respective ARR's of 11.1250 and 11.2500. #42 Jeff Ferencz-Nagy worked on RR this week and got a non-sc time 2'00"709 and sc times 2'00"202 and 37"932. #44 Steven Glen moved up two places this week with a 1.1718 AF cut and is close to Hero B overall at 12.5156 Hero C. #47 Marshall LeVett hit a bunch of pr's this week and was able to sub 2'00 on RR with 1'59"981. Finishing and joining the top 50 is #49 Jean-Philippe Dumais with 0.7031 AF cut.

For the rest of the top 100, #80 Jukka Harju -0.3125 (#1 Finland), #82 Matthew Ord -1.6094 (#7 UK), #86 Ted Kim -16.0471 (#24 USA, Expert C to Expert A and joins the top 100), #91 David Chatman -18.5630 (#27 USA, Expert C to Expert B and joins the top 100) and #97 Chuck Foster -0.1560 (#29 USA, Expert C to Expert B).

New Records

There were only 2 WR's improved this week, prb (blue) and non-prb (pink).

After Nick set the WR at YF flap with 15"453 a battle was about to ensue. Switzerland's Fabien Da Silva scored a WR earlier this week here and dropped the time down to 15"442. A few days went by but Nick was bound to gain the WR back. Not only did he beat the time by a larger margin but was also able to record a live replay of it since that run also contained a new 3lap. He used the shroom over the first water fall and got a time of 15"406. Just when I thought it was over Fabien struck back delivering the first sub 15"400 on YF flap with 15"388!!! Great times guys!!! Lastly, Timur Ahmad drove the new SR 3lap World Record with 1'40"289 Myth A.

As mentioned above, these records are also the non-prb records with Fabien's YF flap 15"388 and Timur's SR 3lap 1'40"289.

Awards

It was a great week for this guy. He joined the top ten racing from #11 to #7, almost reached Myth E from getting Titan A last week and has 53 CR's. It's no other than Australia's Champion!!! Ben Stoneman wins the POW for the 2nd week of April in recognition for his strong climb in the rankings recently, awesome!!!

Chuck Norris can do the LC2 God Times

Etch @ Friday, April 6th   [link]

Movement

As #3 Giulio Centrone and #4 Fabien Da Silva continue their mkds conquest, they hit some nice times and WR's this week. Giulio made a big leap at the top with a 0.3906 AF cut this week bringing him to an overall AF of 3.3438. He is getting dangerously close to #2 Thomas Bolton with an AF of 2.6719. If Giulio can keep improving his times who knows, maybe a new #1!!! With 22 total God times, Giulio hit some nice pr's including F8C 3lap 1'15"047 Myth C, MC1 3lap and flap 42"051 God and 13"233 God, PC flap 17"945 God, BC2 flap 30"604 Myth B and BP 3lap 43"094 Myth E. As for Giulio's new WR's, he was able to beat the longstanding Shroom Ridge 3lap WR held by BDash earlier this week by driving a 1'40"628. Giulio also grabbed the AF 3lap WR with 1'45"584, beating Thomas' 1'45"745 set back on January 27th 2007. You know Fabien would not let Giulio steal the show so he hit a WR of his own. As being the shortest flap, BP is definitely one of those courses where you know how to use Standard RB or not. It seemed impossible to trump Paul Gourdon's 8"177 set back on December 5th 2006 but Fabien Da Silva blew it away with an insane 8"145. WTFFF I tried Peach, and got 8:145 O_o indeed, but Chuck Norris thinks it can be done even faster!!! With an AF of exactly 5.000, Fabien comfortably holds his #4 spot and has surpassed Thomas in the WR count with 13 and is Switz #1 in that aspect, #1 Sascha Brauninger still has 20. Another top player with a quick WR this week was #5 Nick Welch taking on YF flap and got 15"453, just when you thought this flap could not get any faster too, he is working on the 3lap as well.

Outside the top 5, #6 Timur Ahmad hit a nice bunch of pr's this week moving him up in the rankings a little. Some of his times included TTC flap 30"777 Myth D, KB2 flap 13"411 Myth A, BB 3lap and flap 1'47"448 Myth A and 35"373 God and CI2 flap 15"988 Myth E. Once again Australia's #1, #11 Ben Stoneman continues to smash his times and moved up one place in AF and ARR this week becoming Titan A overall. This was not his greatest achievement this week because Ben finally grabbed the DKP WR's!!! Yes, unthinkable at first because we were blown away by Thomas' times of 1'46"807 and 34"963 set way back on November 28th 2006. Ben chugged away at this course all week and eventually got 1'46"573 and 34"952. Great job at not only getting the DKP God times but the WR's as well!!! Next up we have Canada's #1, #15 Cole Gilbert having another strong week with a 0.9531 AF cut and became Titan C overall. He got some good pr's including WP flap 40"526 Titan D, F8C 3lap and flap 1'16"125 Titan C and 24"943 Titan A, MC 3lap and flap 1'33"546 Hero A and 30"111 Titan D and MMF 3lap 1'05"553 Titan D. Not too far behind Canada's #2, #18 Jack Murphy was also able to make it to Titan C overall this week. His new times included KB2 3lap 43"566 Titan D, AF 3lap and flap 1'47"676 Titan C and 35"578 Titan E, F8C 3lap and flap 1'15"827 Titan B and 25"014 Titan B, RR 3lap and flap 2'01"818 Titan E and 39"498 Titan B and WP flap 40"443 Titan C. Almost getting Titan C overall himself, #20 Louis Vivares continued improving his times and cut 3.1406 off his AF and 0.5313 off his ARR. Finishing off the top 30 this week was #26 Robert Szabo who is still able to hit a quick pr here and there but more importantly #27 Mark Engelsman who I can proudly say is the new #1 Netherlands player!!! He had a surge of pr's this week which not only got him into the top 30 and overall Titan E but passed #28 Miguel Rodriguez in the process, congratulations!!!

Getting close to Titan E overall himself, #32 James Leare is in striking distance for the #1 UK title from #31 Thomas McConville. If TT's didn't suck so much Pulsar would play them more!!! Some of James' times included MMF 3lap and flap 1'06"786 Hero B and 21"666 Hero B, MB 3lap and flap 1'13"408 Hero B and 23"899 Titan E, YF 3lap and flap 48"188 Titan B and 15"690 Myth E and DP1 flap 18"510 Hero C. With an AF cut of 5.6406 Germany's #5, #34 Daniel Marass had another killer week moving up from Hero B to Hero A overall with an ARR of exactly 11.000. Close behind, #37 Enrique Wilde cut 2.9063 off his AF this week and was also able to go Hero B to Hero A with an AR of 11.2812. #38 Nicolas Barco took another shot at RR and was successful in getting the sub 1'58 with 1'57"995 and God flap with 38"766. New Records

There were some new people getting WR's this week with prb (blue) and non-prb (pink).

There were 7 WR's improved this week and as you already know, Nick Welch got back on the WR chart by driving a new YF flap of 15"453, how much faster can this record get!!! Equally stunning was Fabien Da Silva's BP flap of 8"145, Peach FTW baby. Once again Giulio was active and took down the longstanding SR 3lap record held by BDash by driving a 1'40"628. He used egg1 and still has best splits for that sub 1'40 here, save the god time for another day. Giulio also took the AF 3lap by driving a 1'45"584. Ben Stoneman made his mark this week with the new DKP WR's of 1'46"573 and 34"952. Ben's 3lap is only "234 quicker and flap "009 quicker than Thomas' previous DKP WR's. Finally, a new Japanese WR by シヴァ getting the new PG flap of 28"319!!!

New non-prb records included Nick's YF flap 15"453, Fabien's BP flap 8"145, Ben's DKP times 1'46"573 and 34"952 and finally Giulio's SR 3lap 1'40"628 and AF 3lap 1'45"584.

Awards

It was a good week for a lot of people but for his hard work very recently he definitely earned the POW. Outside the top 30, he was able to make some serious ground in AF and ARR getting into the top 30 and Titan E overall. Not only that but he is the new Netherlands Champion!!! For his great times this week and finally dethroning previous World Champion Miguel Rodriguez for the title, Mark Engelsman wins the POW for the first week of April, great job!!!
