Movement

#4 Ben Stoneman once again scored a bunch of new times helping him climb his way up the ranks further but as we all know it only gets tougher to cut those AF points. Ben focused on PG getting 1'27"984 and 28"294, DS 1'31"739 and 29"423, TTC 1'33"456, LC1 prb 1'11"683, BP 43"083, and SG 21"561. Although he is still cranking out new times, he has about one AF point to go before reaching #3 Giulio Centrone and 3 AF points to pass #2 Fabien Da Silva on prb. Of the 5 Myth A's, Ben is still ranked at #5 but it will only take about a tenth of a point to get the #3 title in ARR.

The star this week again was none other than #7 Nick Welch who continues his pr rampage with an impressive 1.5938 AF cut and reached Myth B overall removing 0.5469 ARR points. Nick raced over 20 pr's again releasing a flurry of top 3 times and improving some older times to destroy his AF. Some of these include F8C 1'14"458 and 24"573, MC 1'31"218 and 29"584, BC 36"766, LC1 1'12"582 and 23"939, CCB 1'25"160, SG 21"636. Nick has not passed #6 Cole Gilbert in nonprb yet but did so on the prb charts taking the number six spot there with 2 AF points separating him fron Giulio. With this monster pace, Nick will most likely pass Cole in nonprb next week and possibly make his way up to Myth A overall. Although active, #8 Leonardo Assisi just can't seem to keep up the pr pace Nick is setting and still has some ways to go before catching him and Cole. Leo focused on AF getting 1'46"827 and 34"781 which puts his German record total at 10 on nonprb and 18 on prb inching ever so closer to #5 Sascha Brauninger.

Outside the top 10, #11 Michele Magnaterra passed #12 Timur Ahmad as the AF quickly dropped for those inactive players due to Nick's beastly karting. Michele continues to focus on the flaps but scored but pretty high ranked times including DS 29"344, WS sc 36"957, and SG 21"490. That's right, he got another nonprb record by changing how the second shroom was used, #28 Michael Fried called that one! He first beat Fabien's time with 21"602, then 21"590, and improved it by another tenth later. Although very minor, it definitely saves a few tenths. His pr progress might not be as fast as say last year but its all about getting those top times! Although he claimed he was not active on mkds, #17 Matthew Ord dropped a whole bunch of new times making him the 18th player to reach Myth E overall. He also passed #18 Paul Gourdon our French Champion in the process. Matthew reported over 20 pr's but that was not even enough for a one point AF cut. At least he can have some satisfaction in moving up on ARR.

Close to that top 20 now, #21 Abel Marques got his bang for his buck passing 4 players with a 1.0469 AF cut by driving just 5 new times. He came extremely close to the F8C nonprb flap record driving 24"507! Abel is also able of getting top 15 in prb and currently ranks in at #16. He'll need at least 3 AF points to meet that goal and 2 AF points for top 20 nonprb. Continuing the UK acitivity streak, #27 James Leare got some nice times on WP with 2'01"247 and 39"921. He still has 4 AF points to go before reaching #26 Tim Shelbourne and will also have to keep playing to keep himself in the top 40 on prb.

Getting back to my homeland, #29 Marshall LeVett drove a monster LC1 prb flap of 23"385 taking the CR there from Nick and a nice FS flap of 32"362. Like James, he did not move up a spot but is closer to Titan B overall and top 20 prb. Marshall's plan was sidetracked though by another USA player none other than #20 Ted Kim who submitted some new times he has gotten. In all, his 12 new prb times gave him a huge 4.2656 AF cut passing over 10 players! It's not game over for Marshall though because he is less than an AF point behind Ted.

Near the top 50 area, #43 Zach Sterling is starting to pick up some speed as he raced to Titan C overall this week with a 5.8750 AF cut moving up two spots with over ten new pr's. We couldn't stay away from the UK for long with #47 Stacy Needham reporting some new times on YC with 1'28"961 and 28"583. He moved up one spot on the charts to help keep him inside that top 50 group and is close to Titan D overall. #51 Pol Gonzalez had another good week putting up a 2.4687 AF cut getting him just a few points shy of Titan E overall! He'll have to cut 3 more points to reach the big five-o which would bump a former World Champion Miguel Rodriguez out of that group. Pol did meet his goal though on prb where he is ranked #50 now with his 1.5781 AF cut there.

#70 Lenny Andreev was also a beat this week moving up 15 spots with a 9.7187 AF cut and nearly reached Hero B from getting to Hero C overall from last week. Looks like his training with Ben is really paying off as he is starting to hit some top 20 times now! Surely his pr madness will continue. #83 Alvaro Arroyo hailing from Switzerland as their #3 player made a 5.4688 AF cut to reach Hero C overall and passed a few players in the process. With Fabien and Thomas not far away, their kart aura could very well improve his times! #91 Dennis Molina-Yao helped keep himself from dropping out of the top 100 with a 7.1240 AF cut boosting him to Hero D overall. Likewise, Netherlands' number 4 player #92 continues to improve his times to keep him up there with a 2.5160 AF cut. Lastly, #96 Joe Sebeny moved up a few ranks cutting his AF a little with his new times.

Movement outside the top 100 included #137 Scott Kaforey -5.9690 (Expert D to Expert C), #142 Timothee Le Borgne -18.5780 (Expert D to Expert C), #179 Lucas Herrera -9.1410, #186 Isaac Teh -1.7340, #189 Alencar Faria -2.6410, #210 Troy Dunbeck -24.9690 (Advanced C to Advanced B), #211 Marcus Whitley -7.1410, #226 Jacob Goldfinger -20.9530 (Advanced C to Advanced B), #230 Kevin Liang -30.3290 (Advanced C to Advanced B), #239 Robin Elliott -26.7650, #257 Daniel Pabst -0.3590, #280 Andrew Buchan -15.4530 (Intermediate A to Advanced E), #330 Austin Gates -37.1880 (Intermediate B to Intermediate A), #402 Elliot Griffiths -42.5780 (Intermediate E to Intermediate C) and #501 Jesus Clemente -8.1720 (Beginner D to Beginner C).

New Records

There was 1 WR improved (blue) and three non-prb times (pink).

Only BDash was active this week and took down a pretty old WR which was the DH 3lap. Kevin Barbieux was the first to go sub 1'11 here but BDash was able to improve on his time dropping it down to 1'10"753, live replay.

For nonprb, Lewis Benny took down the MC flap beating Sascha's very old time with first 29"544 and finally 29"541, 水色 made a nearly 6 month return on WS 3lap taking it sub 1'55 beating BDash's older time with 1'54"923, and Michele Magnaterra utilizing a better SG strat busted the flap with first 21"602, then 21"590, and then 21"490.

Awards

It seems like everyone was storming up the ranks this week from the very top to the very bottom. With good playing all around, the very best was once again seen at the top. For reaching Myth B overall in virtually a week, large AF and ARR% cut, and top 3 times all over the place, Nick Welch wins the POW for the third week of February, monster!

Movement

The biggest change at the top this week was #2 Fabien Da Silva reclaiming the silver metal on non-prb passing #3 Giulio Centrone again but just barely with less than a tenth of an AF point between them. Fabien also reached 1.0000 Myth A in ARR passing #5 Sascha Brauninger there. His new times were entirely flaps which were hoarded for awhile but came to the light this week with near record times like DKP 34"728, AF 34"685, RR 38"729 and YC 27"816. Fabien is currently tied with Sascha in God times with 40 but #1 Thomas Bolton still remains the leader at 54.

#4 Ben Stoneman was also active this week focusing on prb where he is extremely close to passing Sascha for the #3 spot. Ben worked on PC coming up with 52"458 and 17"294. Not too far down, another player has taken the spotlight and that is #7 Nick Welch making an impressive 1.4375 AF cut this week passing #8 Leonardo Assisi in non-prb and prb. Nick also went sub 3.0 in ARR getting 2.9375 Myth C making his way to the Myth B ranks where only #6 Cole Gilbert stands alone. Nick raced over 20 pr's with his most important time coming on KB2 prb flap where he reclaimed the WR with 12"872. Nick is still USA's #1 player in a dominating fashion with almost 50 cr's in non-prb/prb and the only non-sc WR now! Wrapping up the top ten, the number one UK player #9 Milan Pacino continues to creep up the charts in non-prb and prb as he gets closer to Myth C overall. Some of his new times included SR improvements of 1'40"970 and 32"924, just missing the sub but a palindrome time on FS 3lap with 1'40"041, BP 5lap 43"051, FS flap 32"627, and YF flap 15"442. Milan has at least another AF point to go before reaching Leonardo to move farther up in the top ten.

Still stuck below is #12 Michele Magnaterra who raced a few new times this week but not enough to pass #11 Timur Ahmad. He did manage to get under the 4.0 mark on ARR on his way to Myth C overall. On non-prb, he improved his MC times to 1'31"885 and 29"719 and DH 3lap 1'13"044. Against the likes of Giulio, only Michele and #16 Fabio Sacco have some wins on him for Italian records but Michele now has 2 with the addition of his MC flap.

Not far apart, #27 James Leare and #29 Marshall LeVett were active again moving up one spot each with James reaching Titan B overall and Marshall just a stone's throw away from the top 20 on prb. James focused on MC with some nice times of 1'31"929 Myth E and 29"819 Titan A. Marshall's "Pee Ares" included new YF God times of 47"167 and 15"480, DS 3lap 1'33"684 Titan C, and BP flap 8"334 Titan C. Marshall continues his rise to USA glory coming in at #8 in non-prb, within reach of the bronze metal at #4 in prb, 4 cr's and most importantly 2 WR's!!!

Near the top 50 area, #46 Chase Peleshaty continues to gain some ground on the players in front of him with new times on SR and YC getting him closer to Titan D overall. Up a couple places from last week, #53 Pol Gonzalez raced 20 something pr's in non-prb and prb getting 1 point and 2 point AF cuts there respectively. He is on the verge of the top 50 in prb but has 7 AF points to cut before reaching there in non-prb.

Finishing up the top 100, #84 Matthieu Van Reet got some new times on F8C and AF as he makes his up the Hero C ranks and #96 Joe Sebeny raced 8 pr's to help him stay on the front page at Hero D. Of course we can't forget #85 Lenny Andreev who got a 5.7499 AF cut which moved him up 5 places and reached Hero C overall. As Australia's #5, he has his work cut out for him before advancing up that ladder farther but with the help of his country's champ Ben Stoneman, he is sure to climb the ranks much much more. Getting about 30 pr's is not a coincidence!

Movement outside the top 100 included #114 Pierre Signamarcheix -0.2340, #144 Scott Kaforey -4.3430, #187 Lucas Herrera -17.3440 (Advanced B to Advanced A), #218 Marcus Whitley -29.4690 (Advanced C to Advanced B), #236 Troy Dunbeck -5.9840, #258 Daniel Pabst -2.9220 (Advanced D to Advanced C), #312 Clement Rambaut -3.5470, #323 Gabriel Freitas -20.7340, #366 Austin Gates -11.3280 (Intermediate C to Intermediate B) and #470 Bryan Kelder -3.1090 (Beginner B to Beginner A).

New Records

There were 4 WR's improved (blue) and three non-prb times (pink).

First up is Nick Welch who took back his KB2 flap narrowly deafeating Fabien Da Silva's almost one year old record with 12"872, live replay. BDash took down Thomas Bolton's times on TTC with a small improvement on the 3lap with 1'32"515 and a dramatic cut on the flap with 30"231, live replay. Lastly, Japan struck again with センジュ taking control of the RR non-sc flap once again getting 38"609, live replay.

For nonprb, BDash got TTC 1'32"515 and 30"231, センジュ got RR flap 38"609.

Awards

Storming the ranks at the top in his comeback, a ton of pr's and a wr may only be a prelude for what is to come. For a solid week's effort of smashing times, Nick Welch wins the POW for the second week of February, styling!

Movement

Although he only got two pr's, #4 Ben Stoneman finally managed to pass #5 Sascha Brauninger! He's very close to passing Sascha on the prb charts as well for third place. Ben's new times were WR's where he first took the DKP flap with 34"453 and improved his WP 3lap to 1'59"440.

#7 Nick Welch pulled ahead this week passing #8 Leonardo Assisi with all of his new times. In addition to nonprb, Nick hit a lot of new prb times in order to catch up to Leonardo there too. Racking up the USA records with over 40 now, Nick continues to show his dominance with times like CI2 46"983 and 15"172, LC1 1'11"711 and 23"466, F8C 1'14"380 and 24"316. Leonardo is very close behind though on nonprb and with times like CM flap 35"599, MC flap 29"655, and DS flap 29"707, he is still in striking distance. He also got a few more wins on Sascha for German records but he and Nick still have some ways to go before reaching the top five.

Getting closer to that action now is #9 Milan Pacino who moved up a spot this week by improving some of his lower ranked courses. With times like MC1 42"136, BP 43"090, DS 1'32"896, AF 1'46"572, and BB 1'47"457, he made another step up in the top 10 and is close to joining Nick and Leonardo in the Myth C ranks. Milan also worked on some of his prb times gaining more ground to keep his #1 UK title and is only two AF points from joining the top ten there where he is #14.

Appearing again with some new times is #28 James Leare who managed to sub 30 on MC with 29"971 and new SR times 1'41"223 and 32"905. He did not move up anywhere on the charts but got a little bit closer to Titan B overall. #45 Zach Sterling managed to cut 3 AF points passing a few players this week getting DS 1'35"188, DKP 1'49"567 and 35"934, YC 1'28"634 and 28"424. Wrapping up the top 50, #46 Chase Peleshaty got some pwnsome new WS times with 1'57"169 and 38"249.

Finishing up the top 100, #55 Pol Gonzalez raced 7 new pr's to pass a couple players in the charts making his way closer to the Titan ranks. #70 Ben Wilson moved up a few places with his 1.3125 AF cut and is currently Hero C. #90 Lenny Andreev, the only other active Australian in the top 100, continues to make his stake on the front page with his near 4 point AF cut and has an ARR of exactly 14 at Hero D. Lastly, #97 Joe Sebeny finally joins the top 100 now with his 2 point AF cut and reaches Hero D overall, congrats! More than a quarter of the players in the top 100 belong to the USA and overall there is only one Hero E player left up there now. It's also worth noting that an mkds WR has finally lasted for more than one year and those honors belong to #1 Thomas Bolton with his year old time on MMF 1'03"364, way to go!

Movement outside the top 100 included #157 David Pescher -10.4060, #174 Arnaud Teil -1.1400, #187 Isaac Teh -2.5630, #241 Jacob Goldfinger -7.2810, #244 Marcus Whitley -43.4530 (Advanced E to Advanced C), #260 Daniel Pabst -6.5150 and #382 Austin Gates -15.2960.

New Records

There were 5 WR's improved (blue) and three non-prb times (pink).

Things started off with Ben Stoneman taking the DKP flap again with 34"453 but Thomas Bolton quickly responded by driving 34"439 and finally 34"409. The unthinkable happened on DS 3lap when Giulio Centrone finally broke the 1'30 barrier with a spectacular time of 1'29"999. Just as shocking, Thomas took BLS out for a drive on PC flap taking the WR first with 16"958 and finally 16"923. Currently, BLS holds 30/64 non-sc WR's, almost half! Representing the USA, Marshall LeVett struck again barely taking the RR sc flap with standard rb getting 35"227. Lastly, Ben Stoneman got a faster WP 3lap with all his splits sub 40 with 1'59"440.

For nonprb, Thomas got DKP flap 34"409, Giulio got DS 3lap 1'29"999, and Ben got WP 3lap 1'59"440.

Awards

A lot of players did well this week but it was a special occasion for one karter whose playing this week got him pass a milestone of a player Sascha Brauninger. Taking the bronze metal in 3lap total and racing some new WR's this week, Ben Stoneman wins the POW for the first week of February, awesome!

Movement

More of Japan's players joined the site coming up with complete time sets on prb!

First is #16 Shu-&TABEAR who is now #1 Japan on the AF charts with several top ten time times like BB 3lap 1'45"675, LC2 3lap 1'15"854, LC1 3lap 1'11"444, F8C 3lap 1'13"894, and CI2 3lap 46"674. Next is ホームラン "Homerun" who joins at #20 on the prb charts. As one of Japan's early WR players, times such as his historic WP 3lap set well back in 2006 is #8 in the ranks! He also has some impressive times on DKP with top 5 times of 1'48"193 and 35"282. Next is #28 Colonel who also has an array of top 10 times such as YF 3lap 46"930, MC1 3lap 38"730, and CI2 3lap 46"511. Also joining is the first player to land the RR pipe sc 3/3, ハトムギ "Hatomugi" comes in at #44. Right above him is リル "White Line" who joins at #43. #79 Sun Wolsi joins with his best time on F8C 3lap 1'13"862. Although he does not have a full time set, ドコモダケ "Docomodake" also known as Doco has excellent times on F8C and CI2 with 1'13"781 and 46"093. In terms of new times, Mercury got 24"091 on F8C flap in pursuit of getting the sub 24 like #1 Thomas Bolton did last year. Welcome to the site all of you!

Once again, it was difficult for anyone to manage an AF cut this week with some high ranked players joining but even with that, #4 Ben Stoneman was finally able to catch up to #4 Sascha Brauninger. Right now they are tied but with some pr's looming in the yahoo group, Ben is sure to pass him next, congratulations! Next for Ben is passing Sascha in the prb charts where he will soon take the bronze metal shooting for the #3 spot. Although their movement was hidden, #7 Leonardo Assisi and #8 Nick Welch both reached Myth C overall as they continue to race several pr's!

#26 Tim Shelbourne sent some times in this week but it was not enough to pass anyone this week. As expected, #30 Marshall LeVett reached the top 30 since he was less than 1 AF point away so it only meant improving a few weak times to easily gain some ground. More importantly, Marshall stormed past several USA players in prb reaching #4 USA! At #24 on those charts, he is only 2 AF points from reaching the top 20. His time sheet is not completely balanced yet so there should still be some easy AF points lurking for him.

The only large AF cut appearing in the top 100 is #31 Mark Engelsman who in part with his Netherlands' super hoard team, Marijn Sax, Marcel Petit, Joep van Gelder, and Styn Burkels, took back the #1 Netherlands title from #48 Steven Glen. It's been awhile that a Netherlands player has been ranked this high and as far as mkds goes, the land of kart does not get much attention nowadays. Besides passing more than ten people, Mark went from Titan D to Titan C overall. Unless another Netherlands player steps up to the plate, expect Mark to keep his #1 title for awhile, congrats!

#34 Nicolas Barco found or got a new charger which meant new mkds times! He got some solid prb times as well and managed to move up a few spots in the ranks. Only two other players had an AF cut this week in the top 100 with first #95 Marijn Sax who rejoins the top 100 with his new times going from Hero E to Hero D. Lastly, the possible lost long son of Pobre #96 Lenny Andreev moves up three spots this week and also reaches Hero D overall. If kart is in the genes, could we see Lenny high up in the charts and beyond the top 50? We'll just have to wait and see or get them on the Maury Show to determine who's the daddy!

Movement outside the top 100 included #155 Joep Van Gelder -29.7810 (Part of the Netherlands super hoard!), #209 Lucas Herrera -101.2660 (It's been a long time since we have seen triple digit cuts!), #249 Jacob Goldfinger -4.0940 (Advanced D to Advanced C), #295 Marcus Whitley -23.7810 (Joins the top 300), #341 Domenick McEnery -7.4840, #401 Austin Gates -4.5630 (Intermediate D to Intermediate C), and #417 Andrew Howes -13.1570 (Intermediate E to Intermediate D).

New Records

There was 1 WR improved (blue) this week.

All was quiet on the WR front this week until Thomas Bolton showed up and smashed his already strong LC2 flap by grinding it into the dirt with a significantly faster time of 24"375! It is truly a record to behold in this live replay.

Awards

Not exactly a lot of movement this week but no one could ignore the Netherlands! With mostly recent times, we are once again with a new #1 from Dutchland. For a good comeback to kart and regaining his title there and bringing some fame back to this country for mdks, Mark Engelsman wins the POW for the fourth week of January, nice one!

Although he was not too active in the first week, this player was almost the busiest he has ever been making large climbs in nonprb and prb this month. Besides passing several players and climbing the ranks, he managed to get some WR's which really sets players apart now these days. For his consistent pr's towards the end and jumps in the charts, Marshall LeVett wins the POM for the month of January, good job!

Yes, it's been 2008 for awhile so might as well announce the winner for kart's biggest award. At the time, Sascha Brauninger seemed unbeatable dominating nonprb and the WR charts but that was until Thomas gave him a run for his money in a month we like to call May sweeps. Thomas unleased his true karting warrior taking back the #1 spot and has kept it since! He did not have many WR's last year but somehow ended up with more than 40 of the 64 nonsc WR's which is a feat we have not seen since the release of the game. For his specatacular rise to #1 this year and the myriad of WR's set and barriers broken distinguishing himself from the rest, Thomas Bolton wins the POY for the year of 2007, fantastique!
