LOOKIN LIKE A FOOL WITH YO PANTS ON THE GROUND! Kevin @ Sunday, January 24th   [link]

Movement #7 Dylan Gaunt started the week falling back two positions due to AF loss. However, he scored two PRs to make a minimal cut, putting him back into his original position and leaving him some breathing room. Dylan's PRs were both God flaps; LM 30"454 and BP 8"195. It seems everybody is getting great BP flap times these days. Another player joined the top ten this week for the first time in many years, that player being none other than #10 Fabio Sacco. The Idolo flexed his muscles and knocked off 1.7500 AF to move ahead of USA Champion #11 Nick Welch, and #12 Michele Magnaterra, giving Fabio the #2 Italian position. He hit eight PRs, which included LM 1'33"983 Myth C + 30"354 God, TTC 1'33"987 Myth C + 30"322 God, and MC 1'31"648 Myth D + 29"711 Myth D. His massive cuts also pushed him over the halfway point to Myth A. Funny how so many people are charging towards that rank out of nowhere now... The next two active players look to do as Dylan did a few weeks ago, and what Fabio has just done this week. #13 Nicola Torre would love to follow Fabio and put three Italian players in the top ten, and is making a good case to do so. The king of time updaters made a 1.1875 AF cut to pass over Canadian Champion #15 Cole Gilbert. He worked on similar courses as Fabio, with PRs such as TTC 1'32"924 God + 30"330 and MC 1'31"206 Myth B + 29"676 Myth C. He also added in a BP 5lap of 42"912 Myth C. All of these great times helped Nicola reach Myth B overall. Following Nicola stride for stride is #14 Timur Ahmad, who made a 1.0469 AF cut and also passed over #15 Cole Gilbert. Timur hit five PRs, including great efforts on BB with 1'46"652 God + 34"924 God, and LC2 3lap 1'18"978 Myth D. Timur continues to try and obtain new German Records, falling a bit short of both on BB this week. Inside the top fifty, #29 Pol Gonzalez continues to make the small cuts he always does. Taking off 0.3437 AF this week, he moves himself within 1.5 AF of #28 Tim Shelbourne. #37 SImon Levy continues to smash some times and move farther ahead of rival #39 Timothee Le Borgne. His 0.8594 AF cut puts him just short of #36 James Leare, who he will surely pass with another active week. Simon's standout PR of the week came on BP flap, where he raced himself a nice #2 time of 8"134. #42 Stefan Peters continues his activity from last week with a 1.1250 AF cut, leaping over former champion #43 Michael Fried. Another strong week for Stefan could put him in the top forty before January is over. Another accomplishment for Stefan this week was a rank promotion to Titan B overall. A bit of a ways down, #83 Stefan Mayr destroyed some times which resulted in a 10.2660 AF cut, bringing if close to a double-digit number. Of his PRs, his best was on CM 3lap with a time of 1'50"233 Myth E, his fourth myth or better time. Last but not least, another German in #93 Richard Penkalla was active with a 0.7500 AF cut. Just two PRs from Richard, but arguably his strongest yet. The first DH flap 22"799 Myth E, and the next was BP flap 8"190 God, giving himself a German Record! He also became Hero B overall to boot. Movement outside the top 100 included #121 Sifus Thompson III -0.9850, #169 Sophie Steiner -83.3600 (Advanced A to Expert C), #222 Tom Mannings -8.0930, #226 Tom van Kessel -18.9370, #242 Daniel Pabst -6.2180, #385 Daniel Sampson -2.3280, #435 Christian Wild -75.8750 (Intermediate E to Intermediate B) and #439 Andrew Howes -5.5470 (Intermediate C to Intermediate B). New Records There was 1 WR improved (blue) but no non-prb times (pink). Thomas Bolton hit his first World Record of 2010, beating out David Roldan's PC flap by the smallest amount possible of "001. The record now stands at 16"816. Awards Lots of big cutters, but this player always seems to miss awards, and he really deserves this one. He made a pretty large cut at the top, and moved himself into the top ten for the first time in ages, proving that nothing is impossible. For this outstanding accomplishment, Fabio Sacco wins the POW for the third week of January! JETS! ~Kmacc

Movement #7 Dylan Gaunt continues to rape the cornhole of the AF chart jumping to 7th this week with another set of strong pr's. He started things off on WP with God times of 1'59"613 and 39"384. His other nice course total subs were BP 42"895 Myth B and LC2 1'18"996 Myth D. Dylan also picked up some new times on DP1 flap 17"899 Myth C, SR 3lap 1'40"586 Myth B and flap 32"812 Myth A. Lastly, he dropped his SG times to 1'08"478 and 21"472. All these new times nearly pushed Dylan to Myth A overall and is currently tied with #7 Abel Marques on non-prb while jumping to #15 on prb. As new players continue to push the records lower, the AF gaps that used to be in the top 20 are eroding away. There are only 5 AF points separating #5 Sascha Brauninger and #10 Nick Welch which will make further activity interesting to the shake up the ranks have been getting near the top. Although he was active, #9 Leonardo Assisi fell victim to Dylan's assault but managed some decent times too. He improved both sets of times on YF and CM with 46"885/15"346 and 1'47"432/35"353 which are all ranked God. His best records came on RR using the pipe sc to get 1'55"483 and 37"490 which helped take his AF under 10 on the prb charts where he is ranked #6. #12 Fabio Sacco was up to business as usual absolutely crushing the DP1 non-prb flap record shared by #1 Thomas Bolton and #2 Ben Stoneman with an insane time of 17"689! He also hit more top times on LC1 with now 1'12"344 and 23"828. While almost every time the idolo posts is ranked God, he showed his more mortal side on RR getting some Myth times with a 3lap sub of 1'59"867 and nearly flap sub of 39"063. Even if Fabio is digging his way through a big AF graveyard, he sure is doing it in style with all the new non-prb/prb records he has given us. Let's hope we haven't seen the last of standard rb and it's magnificent master. Making another surprise appearance is #14 Nicola Torre who decided to return to his mkds roots. If there was a new BP strat, he was most likely to pop up with a new time or WR. After Fabio utilized the triple hop ending, more players began experimenting with this minor adjustment to an already ideal strat. If it wasn't enough to see Fabio take the oldest WR down to date, Nicola delivered the coup de gras here with a monstrous cut approaching a Godly sub with a sick 8"119! Into our 5th year of competition, it's amazing what is still left to be discovered in saving fractions of time. He also beat his F8C records scoring top 10 times with 1'14"622 and 24"516 non-prb. Gratz on rejoining the WR chart Nicola! Bringing up the rear in this competitive top 20 group is #15 Timur Ahmad who continues to cruise his way up. He got a couple flaps first with YF 15"349 and CCB 27"725 which are both Gods. Timur also went sub 39 on RR non-sc with 38"789 God. Next he tackled WS, hopefully using the kmacc hill clear supreme, to push his times down to 1'56"965 Myth C and 38"120 Myth A. Once again saving the best for last, he got number 8 times on DKP with 1'47"217 Myth A and 34"951 God. Timur has 6 German records now and while Sascha was inactive for almost 3 years now still leads Leonardo but by a slim margin of 29 to 28. Leonardo however dominates the prb side in the Rhineland. Another week of good times helped Timur move up 2 spots to join the top 15 with Nicola next in line. Same as last week, #29 Pol Gonzalez remains put but is getting a little closer to moving up another spot. While his YF flap of 15"716 Titan A isn't all that special, he got a top 20 time on PG 3lap with a solid run of 1'28"834 Myth D! Pol also got a new record on AF 3lap with a sweet sub of 1'46"999 Titan A. His last few times included MC 1'32"240 Titan A, WS 1'58"470 Titan A, KB2 3lap 43"345 Titan C and flap 13"399 God. It was #37 Simon Levy's turn to strike this week passing one player to distance himself from rival #39 Timothee Le Borgne. He improved a variety of times like DKP 1'51"221/35"858 and AF 1'48"190/35"138 with the 3laps ranked Titan E and flaps ranked Titan A. His last time for non-prb came on DP1 flap with the awesome sub 18 getting 17"997 Myth E! Simon also beat his DP1 prb flap with 17"658 Titan D. Best of all and another CR for him was LC2 prb flap where he scored a top 10 time with an awesome record of 24"820 Titan A! With another good week Simon will probably reach Titan A overall. Not far down, #40 Mark Engelsman made a surprise appearance as well sending in a large batch of non-prb times he never got around to submitting before. He has the honors of being #2 Dutchie the longest playing fiddle to the great Zgetto and current champ #33 Joep van Gelder. His new times gave him a 3 point AF cut which will keep him in the top 40 a little longer and extends his lead over #637 Elmore Vaal. Last but not least, #57 Patryk Choma continues to ravage his times with a big 4 point cut this week bumping him up to Titan D overall! The Mihawk struck on several tracks coming up with some nice barely and nearly subs. He improved a variety of flaps with PC to 18"249 Titan A, F8C to 24"966 Titan B, MC1 to 13"567 Titan B, BC to 38"000 Titan C, YF to 15"911 Titan D, and MMF to 21"393 Titan D. Patryk's new 3laps included BC 1'57"104 Titan B, MMF 1'05"892 Titan E, YF 48"871 Hero A, and KB2 43"753 Hero A. While I can't recall how many 4 way ties there have been for any particular time, Patryk is currently the 4th person with an 8"299 on BP. I think it's worthy pointing out that the now #111 Ding-An Chen got his 8"299 with LGS. There are also 4 way ties at 8"199, yours truly, and 8"599 which recently happened thanks to #286 Alexis Le Borgne. I thought I was done but apparently #92 Stefan Mayr joined the top 100 this week with an excellent 6 point AF cut. He started off with SG getting 1'11"762 Hero A and 21"975 Myth E. His last two nice times came on BP flap with 8"244 and KB2 flap with 13"392 which are both God ranked. Just these few times helped him reach Hero B overall and shows that he has a lot of potential still left so keep on karting! Movement outside the top 100 included #115 Marcus Frenje -113.1560 (Expert C to Hero C), #121 Sifus Thompson III -1.0620, #144 Mike Bennett -3.6720 (Expert B to Expert A), #153 Pablo Gabriel -4.9840, #243 Sophie Steiner -36.4680 (Advanced B to Advanced A), #247 Tom van Kessel -4.4220 and #385 Daniel Sampson -4.0160. New Records There was 1 WR improved (blue) and two non-prb times (pink). Nicola was all the rage recently with his massive BP flap which revealed how much better those triple hops really were. After a nearly 4 year slumber, he came back with a vengence and dropped the fastest WR to 8"119. Only he and Paul Gourdon can say they held the WR with both LGS and standard rb. For the first WR of the year, what an awesome time and achievement! For Non-PRB, Nicola dropped BP flap to 8"119 and Fabio crushed the DP1 flap with a sick time of 17"689! Awards Lot of top players were making great cuts but once again this guy came out on top with a 2 point AF cut with several top 10 times and God times to go along with it. For another dominating week and reaching the top 15, Timur Ahmad wins the POW for the second week of January! bow down to the awesomeness that is mkds!!! ~ETCH

Movement #6 David Roldan is almost one AF point away from cracking the top 5 on non-prb which has remained unchanged since #2 Ben Stoneman arrived there over 2 years ago. David worked on some of the other tracks like DKP with 1'47"133 Myth A and 34"643 God, BC with 1'54"995 Myth C and 36"831 God, and DP1 prb 3lap 52"863 Myth E. While it seems like he can get top ten times at will, he still has a lot of work left on his non-prb time set leaving him a lot of potential AF points. If he puts his effort on RR into his other records, David could very soon be a threat to the top three on the prb chart where #3 Abel Marques is only a half AF point away! Starting outside the top 70, no one could have guessed this new guy would be a direct assault to the toppies and #1 Thomas Bolton's WR count a year later. If last year is any indication of what is to come, let's hope we have not seen the last of him and his epic WR battles! The best comeback player last year and still climbing his way to the top ten is #12 Fabio Sacco who continues to add to his non-prb dominance with more top ten times. He improved his LC1 records to 1'12"476 and 23"878 which are ranked 3rd and 6th respectively. Up to his usual tricks, he snagged another #1 time becoming the second person to land the KB2 3lap God with a great time of 42"374! Fabio now has a total of 7 non-prb records which is closing in on Ben's 12 records. He may not have cut much AF this week but continues to prove he is a force to be reckoned with in the mkds universe. The idolo also tried some prb getting a DH flap of 21"901 which bumps him up to #19 and Titan C overall there to pass the little idolo #20 Nicola Torre. The guy everyone thought would pass #5 Sascha Brauninger for the German title was sidelined by an injury but almost 3 years later has shown he is back and better than ever. With a big 2 point AF cut, #17 Timur Ahmad moved up two spots and reached Myth B overall! He started the year off working on WP with 2'00"486 Myth B and 39"830 Myth C. Next was BC2 getting 1'33"799 Myth D and 30"587 Myth B. Timur also improved his times on MC 3lap 1'31"796 Myth D, DS flap 29"521 Myth A, DP1 3lap 56"181 Myth C / flap 17"916 Myth D, F8C 3lap 1'14"950 Myth C and 24"674 Myth A. He saved the best for last though on SG hitting both God times with 21"556 and 1'08"419 which ranks 3rd overall. Timur's rapid pace is only matched by Fabio's and David's activity near the top so it's nice to see the best of the best still playing after all these years. Timur is also on his way to the top 20 prb so expect him to get there next week if he goes on another pr binge. Spain's #2 man, #29 Pol Gonzalez, is still hanging around the top 30 getting his share of new times. In the midst of an AF graveyard, Pol managed Titan A times on PC 3lap, YF 3lap and flap. He also scored some Myth D times on CM 3lap 1'49"605 and F8C flap 24"818. For prb, Pol got Titan D times on CI2 with 47"912 and 15"709. Lastly, he improved his KB2 times to 41"455 Titan B and 13"180 Titan C. Pol is still holding onto his CR's on MC non-prb and prb but David has a bad habit of submitting times late so enjoy them until he gets around to mailing those. Last but not least #39 Timothee Le Borgne had another big week with a 2 point AF cut to pass #40 Lewis Benny but trails #38 Simon Levy by about 3 AF points. The only other guy to make a cut inside the top 100 was #42 Stefan Peters who managed to pass #43 Mark Engelsman the Netherlands bad boy. With some more pr's, Stefan will probably reach Titan B overall next week. Movement outside the top 100 included #102 Stefan Mayr -6.4850, #119 Florian Valandina -0.9060, #165 Tanguy Nicolas -0.7660, #253 Tom van Kessel -9.6870 (Advanced B to Advanced A), and #284 Sophie Steiner -46.1100 (Advanced D to Advanced B). New Records There were no WR's improved (blue) but one non-prb time (pink). For Non-PRB, Fabio added KB2 3lap to his collection with an outstanding time of 42"374. Awards Starting the new year off right, he smashed several of his times hitting top ten times and making his way to the top 15. For a strong week, Timur Ahmad wins the POW for the first week of January! We saw many new players storm the ranks this year with Robert Lee and Patryk Choma each moving up 100 places. More recently, Timothee Le Borgne and Simon Levy quickly made their way to the top 40 and Dylan Gaunt muscling his way to the top 10. Over in real man land, Abel Marques made the jump to the World's #3 player and Florian Lorang to #7 overall. Last but not least, Thomas Bolton continued his dominance holding onto his 40+ non-sc WR's. Once the voting was over, it was very clear who the winner was. Starting from well outside the top 50, he reached #5 in the World and is second only to Thomas in WR count. For his amazing climb to the top of the charts and smashing of WR's, David Roldan wins the POY for 2009! My Balls Are Freezing!!! ~ETCH

Movement Some random PRs came in from #8 Leonardo Assisi, taking off just 0.2343 AF to try and secure his spot a bit. His bigger cut came from sending in more PRB PRs, where he moved up a spot to #6 by jumping over #7 Florian Lorang with a 2.3281 AF cut. In the process of all of this, Leonardo became the sixth player to reach Myth A overall on the Non-PRB charts. Leonardo may be losing a spot soon, due to the huge surge coming from #10 Dylan Gaunt. Dylan didn't want to wait to become top ten, so he decided to crank out a huge 1.8750 AF cut to leap over #11 Michele Magnaterra. Dylan has been on absolute fire, and is not only sending in multiple PRs, but very strong ones as well. Some times from him this week included dual DKP Gods of 1'46"839 and 34"887, and a nice BC2 3lap of 1'33"082 Myth B. Dylan is in striking distance of the next four players above him, so they may want to play if they don't want to get passed. For PRB, Dylan joined the top fifteen with a 1.6875 AF cut, passing #16 Marshall LeVett. We'll see if Dylan can make the same impression in PRB as he has in Non-PRB. As for the rest of the top twenty, just a couple of legends were active. #12 Fabio Sacco focused primarily on DH flap and of course a chance at a site record this week. We'll start with DH flap, where he hit 22"383 God for Non-PRB for a top ten time, and 22"228 for the PRB lap (that sounds like an old WR!), although he's improved it since. Fabio's biggest work came on PC 3lap, taking the site record away Alibis with a time of 55"262! One can only wonder if sub 55" is possible here.. The other person active was of course #19 Timur Ahmad, who ends 2009 nicely with a 1.3593 AF cut to bring himself closer to #18 Marshall LeVett. Timur has spent a lot of time balancing out his times, but he is surely capable of hitting upper tier times. Hopefully Timur is still up for the challenge of becoming Germany Champion by the end of the year. If he is? Timur for POY, you heard it first here. #29 Pol Gonzalez was able to accomplish reaching the top thirty by the end of the year, making a 0.5000 AF cut to pass over #30 Ted Kim and #31 Florian Lorang. A three point AF gap is ahead of him to #28 Tim Shelbourne, so Pol will have to persevere like he has in the past to overcome the void. Much further down also making a small cut, #60 Patryk Choma gets back in on the action to end the year with a 1.2032 AF cut while moving up one spot. #38 Simon Levy wins the rivalry battle to end 2009, but the real battle may only be just heating up as the new year rolls along. Simon had just a 0.4219 AF cut as he digs his way close to the end of the AF graveyard. #40 Timothee Le Borgne is hot on his trail with a 2.5624 AF cut, up three spots from last week and into the top forty. Despite being five AF points behind, Timothee actually leads their matchup 34-30, and is also seven places ahead of Simon on the PRB charts (33rd vs. 40th). Timothee reached Titan B this week, while Simon was already there. Look for these two players to continue their battle and move closer to being the next deemed as Myth karters. Movement outside the top 100 included #105 Mickael Smolen -1.4220, #107 Stefan Mayr -3.3430, #146 Mike Bennett -4.3440, #157 Pablo Gabriel -9.5630, #166 Tanguy Nicolas -7.0470, #259 Tom van Kessel -19.2350, #293 Thomas Stege -8.8600, #326 Sophie Steiner -32.7650 (Advanced E to Advanced D), #416 Christophe Cosentino -18.7030 (Intermediate C to Intermediate B), #425 Sven den Hartogh -0.3750 and #520 Robin Usher -12.3440. New Records There were 3 WR's improved (blue) and two non-prb times (pink). All of the WRs this week came on the same course, from the same person. David Roldan decided to beat down some more RR times this week, wanting to surprise us all. On the SC side, he hit times of 1'50"789 and 34"195, large leads over the next best player. As for Non-SC, he only got the flap, with a time of 37"644. David also holds a large lead there as well, all of these leads being over Marshall LeVett. For Non-PRB, David had his RR flap of 37"644. As mentioned earlier, Fabio did some work on PC 3lap, reaching a great time of 55"262. Awards Lots of awards. This player demolished some times, on his way into the elite group known as the top ten. For reaching that milestone, Dylan Gaunt wins the POW for the fourth week of December! For the month, there were a couple of good players. Although Dylan had a good month, the exciting battle between the two Frenchmen was just too fun to watch. One had bigger cuts though, jumping up twenty-three spots on their way to the top forty and Titan B overall with more PRs and slightly bigger AF cuts than the other in every week but one. For his rapid climb up the charts, Timothee Le Borgne wins the POM for the month of December! The big one, for now at least. This player just put himself on the AF charts to begin the quarter, and made a huge climb to become one of the best karters out there. He nearly was able to pull off what David did during the third quarter, meaning he must have had an insane quarter himself. He improved numerous PRs every week, and consistently made good AF cuts every week. For his consistency and climb to the top ten, Dylan Gaunt wins the POQ for the fourth quarter of 2009! Thanks to everyone who played through last year and kept time trials alive. Thomas Bolton continues to dominate in WR count with a total of 43 non-sc records. He improved several of his own times and helped bump notable players like Cole Gilbert, Fabien Da Silva, and BDash off the charts. Thomas gave us the first sub 1'01 on SG 3lap and sub 1'52 on WS sc 3lap. The guy who came from no where this year was David Roldan who surprised us all ending up with 9 non-sc records. He battled Thomas on several tracks to hold onto the ones he got. His best work came on RR unleashing new strats and godly consistency to take both non-sc and sc records. The biggest change this year was adding textures to the beta tracks making these courses much easier to time trial. Even Giulio Centrone was active taking the beta WP times and Nokonoko 3lap. Thomas also competed here getting the MC GCN and Dokan records. David also holds some beta records with Nokonoko flap and Luigi Cookie Pinball times. Still the world's number two man, Ben Stoneman continued his domination on WP and managed to add MMF to his list of tracks he has held WR's on. Abel Marques made the move up to third place this year and also scored some WR's on the way keeping YF and LC flap times. Marshall LeVett also had a good year battling Thomas much like David did coming out on top for CCB flap and BC2 3lap. He was also first to take BC2 3lap sub 1'32 and flap sub 30. Fabio Sacco had a great return this year with numerous non-prb records but took down the oldest WR to date on BP flap by just one thousandth. The three new guys to make it through the year were Zach Sterling and Dallas Wilde for their work on DK Grass and Thomasson Koopafou for his fucked up strat on Test Circle which surprisingly works!
