#1 Michael Fried managed to reduce his AF score this week to 1.70. He set roughly 30 WRs as well over the week and holds 37 of the current world records despite the competition. Michael Fried is again the Player of the Week.

#2 Miguel Rodriguez was also very active, cutting his AF score by 0.56 to 3.28. I cant remember the last time someone besides Michael Fried had an AF score that low. Miguel holds 11 World Records as well.

#5 Koen de Wilt and #7 Richard Karlsson were both active this week, with AF cuts of 1.13 and 1.33.

#9 Gregor Fran had another solid week with a 1 point AF cut to close in on Martin Rudmarker.

Sami Cetin finally made it to the top 10 this week, passing Dan Lindblad and Vincent Zee to reach #10. Sami holds a 4 point AF margin over #16 Milan Pacino for the UK title.

#11 Fabio Sacco and #17 Sascha Brauninger both hit a lot of PRs this week and are both country champions at the moment in Italy and Germany.

#20 Sebastian Mathys played a ton and cut 22.5 off his AF score to crack the top 20 and almost take out Sascha as German #1.

#30 Josh Griffin cut 28.4 off his AF and currently has 8 top 10 times but still a time out of the top 100 with his 110th ranked KB2 3lap of 50.374. Even out your scores, Josh, and you'll shoot way up in the rankings.

Honorable mentions go to #33 Robert Szabo, #34 Niels Duijvesteijn, #49 Lars Lagerqvist, and #65 Martin Morissette.

Keep karting everyone!

Dont forget to look Here for a list of the world records set in the last week. Too many to write about each one!

#1 Michael Fried worked on his times this week but keeps losing more and more world records and his AF keeps creeping up. #2 and #3 took a lot of AF points away from him. The player of the week award goes back to Michael this week for his efforts (including 21 world records).

#2 Miguel Rodriguez has been doing great and got his AF under 4 this week. He's second on the world record list also, with 6 world records. Here you can see the progression of Michael Fried and Miguel Rodriguez 3lap total times since joining the site.

#3 Tristan Eyma submitted a new set of PRs this week and remains the top French player. He made a 3.5 AF cut and had 5 world records after his PR submission.

#5 Koen de Wilt and #7 Richard Karlsson had 2 point AF cuts and moved up in the super-competitive top 10.

#14 Sami Cetin was the only other player in the top 10 to manage an AF cut, even though others were active.

#26 Simon Laflamme and #27 Peter Toch made nice moves this week, with AF cuts of 7.8 and 5.2. They both sit at #1 in their countries, Canada and Belgium.

#30 Jerome Francois, #33 Patrik de Laval, #38 Robert Szabo, and #39 James Leare all had really nice weeks, with AF cuts of more than 10 points!!

Honorable mentions go to #44 Jeremiah Johnson, #50 Nathan Cromwell, and #51 Craig Lubbers. Nice karting guys.

We also have some new help on the site this week. Michael Fried will help by acting as a proof moderator, viewing PR videos submitted by players, and Nathan Cromwell is helping with the PR updating.

Happy karting smile

Remember this if you're interested in the weekly WRs.

47 minutes broken

Sully @ Sunday, January 8th   [link]

The total for the 32 course world records is just under 47 minutes. This is the last minute barrier we'll most likely hit for some time. There's no doubt we'll get under 46 minutes in the future, but I dont know how long it will take.

#1 Michael Fried's AF is slowly, slowly creeping up towards 2. He's still hitting PRs and WRs most days. We'll see how long he lasts.

The main challenger has become #2 Miguel Rodriguez. Miguel cut 2.6 off his AF score this week and passed Matt Flees. Miguel is our player of the week.

#3 Matt Flees submitted more PRs and has a large gap between him and #4 Tristan Eyma.

#5 Ding-An Chen cut 2.1 AF this week and passed Martin Rudmarker. He holds both world records on WS at 2:02.798 and 40.306.

#9 Richard Karlsson cut 21.2 shocked AF this week and went from outside to top 20 to the top 10.

#13 Dan Lindblad took of 9.2 AF. Dan also holds the F8C 3lap WR currently at 1:18.750. We have 3 Swedish players in the top 20 now, only behind USA and the Netherlands.

#17 Matthias Moeller, #21 Sascha Brauninger, and #23 David Schiering, all German, had solid AF cuts this week as well.

I'll throw out some honorable mentions to #31 Simon Birker, #35 Simon Laflamme, #37 Sebastian Mathys, #42 Andreas Rudmarker, and #48 Josh Griffin.

I've created a page that shows all the world records set in the past week (or any amount of time you care to enter) because there's always too many to mention all of them. Check out the Recent WR page.

Happy New Year!

Sully @ Sunday, January 1st   [link]

Well here's the first update of 2006:

#1 Michael Fried continued to do the same thing this week. He sent a lot of PRs and tried to maintain his world record count. He sits at 38 World Records at the moment with an AF score of 1.53. Michael's attempts to maintain #1 have been really impressive and he's been awarded the December 2005 Player of the Month award and the 2005 Player of the 4th quarter award. We will not have a "2005 Player of the Year" award.

#2 Matt Flees put some distance on his rivals this week. He managed a deceiving 0.4 AF cut. This 0.4 AF cut actually is more like an AF cut of 2 and an AF loss of 1.6 due to competition. He did a lot of work and his rivals weren't able to keep up with the competition. He has a lead of 2.5 AF points over 3rd place. Matt is our Player of the Week.

#3 Miguel Rodriguez has been extremely impressive since joining the site a few weeks ago. He cut 5.25 off his AF score this week and passed a bunch of players.

#8 Koen de Wilt was active this week and cut a few places on the charts with a 2.2 AF jump.

#15 Sami Cetin, of Super Mario Kart and Mario Kart 64 fame, is starting to show us his skills. He cut 6.8 AF points this week and cracked the top 20. He's also the UK site champion.

Big cuts were also made by #26 Emmanuel Debenest (-11.3), #34 Richard Karlsson (-91.2!!!), #43 Simon Laflamme (-29.8), and #50 Brock Courville (-12.7).

One note about the world records that are constantly being set. There's been a ton of action on Donut Plains 1 in the past 3 days, with 11 world records being set by Vincent Zee, Michael Fried, Arnaud Teil, and Wittner David.

If you'd like to see what's been going on in the WR department, go to the World Records page and click on the WR history link at the bottom. I'm going to add a page that lists the World Records set in the last 7 days as well so that I'll be able to make better news updates in the future.
