15 February 2010: "Massive Top Ten Action!"
Movement

I honestly don't even know how to start with all of this movement. I guess I'll just go in order. After not submitting for basically all of this year, #5 David Roldan unleashed a huge 3.0469 AF cut to move up two spots and reach a pretty secure spot in the top five.. for now. Basically every PR he hit was strong, those being PG 1'27"243 + 28"165 Gods, BP 42"833 Myth B + 8"120 God, RLC2 1'18"413 Myth B + 25"661 Myth C, RCI2 49"008 Myth B + 15"826 Myth B and RSG 1'08"238 + 21"295 Gods. With a huge ARR cut as well, he was the first of many to reach Myth A overall this week. David will surely continue towards #3 Giulio Centrone and #4 Alibis van Deaf, as he has already reached 3rd in almost every other statistical category. We must not forget his PRB activity as well, which gave him an even higher position at 4th overall. His 1.1719 AF cut initially put him in the top three, but more of that to come later. His cuts came from the help of some Non-PRB times, as well as times like MC 29"062 Myth D and RCI2 46"142 Titan A. We'll see if 2009's POY will continue to PR, because there's people quick behind him looking for his spot.

Right behind last year's phenom is this year's phenom in #6 Timur Ahmad. He set a goal for himself this year; he wanted to become German Champion. What seemed like a far-fetched altogether, let alone in a year, became a complete reality this week. With a 1.8281 AF cut, Timur moved up two spots and narrowly landed ahead of #7 Sascha Brauninger, making him Non-PRB German Champion! He's still quite far from holding that title on the PRB charts, but if his movement these past weeks has been any indicator of his potential, he could be there before summer even hits. Although he worked more on consistency and hitting seven more German records (to take the lead in by the way), he still hit his share of top ten times such as LM 1'33"189 + 30"349 Gods, WP 1'59"448 + 39"316 Gods, RBC2 flap 30"119 God and RSG 1'07"695 + 21"273 Gods. Like David, Timur also reached Myth A this week, the second person to do it this week.

Despite making a 0.5782 AF cut this week, #8 Dylan Gaunt dropped two spots due to the activity of David and Timur. He hit eight PRs, which included F8C 3lap 1'14"538 Myth A, PG flap 28"199 God, MMF 1'03"713 + 20"790 Myth B's and MB flap 23"208 God. Following in the footsteps of the two who passed him, Dylan was the third player to reach Myth A overall this week. On the PRB side, similar cuts helped him move closer to #10 Sascha Brauninger, meaning he could pass Sascha on both charts any week now. A few more players lie close ahead inside the top ten, so look for Dylan to have a single digit ranking there as well shortly.

The last player active in the top ten was #9 Abel Marques, who made a 0.8281 AF cut to help secure his top ten spot, although he fell short of Myth A.. what a crazy week it would have been if four players had reached Myth A overall. Anyway, Abel doesn't really care about Non-PRB, so let's switch to the real charts. After David submitted his large PR batch to reach #3 PRB, Abel let out his huge hoarded pack of PRs (seventeen exactly). This resulted in a massive 1.4219 AF cut to place him back in the bronze position, although he plans to reach the silver medal podium by July. Some of the PRs that made this cut included SR 1'38"492 Myth B + 32"555 Titan A, AF 3lap 1'45"677 Titan A, PG flap 28"199 Myth E, BC 3lap 1'53"088 Myth D, RMC1 flap 12"401 Myth C, RCM 1'46"788 + 35"001 Myth B's and RBB 1'45"551 Myth E. With those shades, anything is possible!

That was just the action in the top ten! We mustn't forget about the other hard working karters this week, the next one in line being #35 Simon Levy. Simon made a 3.3125 AF cut to ump up two spots, while becoming Titan A overall in the process. #57 Stacy Needham also continued activity this week for a 1.7187 AF cut, and moved up two spots as well.

#66 Marcus Whitley made a 2.7813 AF cut which included passing former champion #69 Miguel Rodriguez. He now sits just 2.5 AF behind #65 Thomas Rielly for a top five spot in Australia. Last but not least, #74 Stefan Mayr made a 4.0782 AF cut to leap up five spots on the ladder, and sits right behind #73 Phillipp Hellmers for #9 in Germany. Stefan is also very close to Titan E overall, and should reach it next week.

Movement outside the top 100 included #142 Pablo Gabriel -5.7970, #159 Sophie Steiner -4.9060, #210 Troy Dunbeck -14.3590, #287 Christian Wild -10.2660 (Advanced C to Advanced B), #354 Daan Becker -55.2180 (Intermediate A to Advanced E), #631 Gabriele Magi -2.6880 (Newbie to Beginner E) and #642 Leyla Hasso -4.3280.

New Records

There was 1 WR improved (blue) and one non-prb time (pink).

With all the activity from the other top ten players, we don't want to forget that this one hit his first WR ever. That someone would be Leonardo Assisi, who took the RPC 3lap WR with a time of 51"481.

For Non-PRB, Timur wanted to protect his SG 3lap record, and took it down further to a time of 1'07"695.

Awards

Apart from the hoarders, this player had the best week... again. He it more PRs at the top than anyone, had the biggest AF cut %-wise at 13.5%, and beat his own site record. Oh yeah, and he reached his 2010 goal of German Champion by mid-February. For a week of great accomplishments and being champion of his country, Timur Ahmad wins the POW for the second week of February!
