| Movement #4 Ben Stoneman once again scored a bunch of new times helping him climb his way up the ranks further but as we all know it only gets tougher to cut those AF points. Ben focused on PG getting 1'27"984 and 28"294, DS 1'31"739 and 29"423, TTC 1'33"456, LC1 prb 1'11"683, BP 43"083, and SG 21"561. Although he is still cranking out new times, he has about one AF point to go before reaching #3 Giulio Centrone and 3 AF points to pass #2 Fabien Da Silva on prb. Of the 5 Myth A's, Ben is still ranked at #5 but it will only take about a tenth of a point to get the #3 title in ARR. The star this week again was none other than #7 Nick Welch who continues his pr rampage with an impressive 1.5938 AF cut and reached Myth B overall removing 0.5469 ARR points. Nick raced over 20 pr's again releasing a flurry of top 3 times and improving some older times to destroy his AF. Some of these include F8C 1'14"458 and 24"573, MC 1'31"218 and 29"584, BC 36"766, LC1 1'12"582 and 23"939, CCB 1'25"160, SG 21"636. Nick has not passed #6 Cole Gilbert in nonprb yet but did so on the prb charts taking the number six spot there with 2 AF points separating him fron Giulio. With this monster pace, Nick will most likely pass Cole in nonprb next week and possibly make his way up to Myth A overall. Although active, #8 Leonardo Assisi just can't seem to keep up the pr pace Nick is setting and still has some ways to go before catching him and Cole. Leo focused on AF getting 1'46"827 and 34"781 which puts his German record total at 10 on nonprb and 18 on prb inching ever so closer to #5 Sascha Brauninger. Outside the top 10, #11 Michele Magnaterra passed #12 Timur Ahmad as the AF quickly dropped for those inactive players due to Nick's beastly karting. Michele continues to focus on the flaps but scored but pretty high ranked times including DS 29"344, WS sc 36"957, and SG 21"490. That's right, he got another nonprb record by changing how the second shroom was used, #28 Michael Fried called that one! He first beat Fabien's time with 21"602, then 21"590, and improved it by another tenth later. Although very minor, it definitely saves a few tenths. His pr progress might not be as fast as say last year but its all about getting those top times! Although he claimed he was not active on mkds, #17 Matthew Ord dropped a whole bunch of new times making him the 18th player to reach Myth E overall. He also passed #18 Paul Gourdon our French Champion in the process. Matthew reported over 20 pr's but that was not even enough for a one point AF cut. At least he can have some satisfaction in moving up on ARR. Close to that top 20 now, #21 Abel Marques got his bang for his buck passing 4 players with a 1.0469 AF cut by driving just 5 new times. He came extremely close to the F8C nonprb flap record driving 24"507! Abel is also able of getting top 15 in prb and currently ranks in at #16. He'll need at least 3 AF points to meet that goal and 2 AF points for top 20 nonprb. Continuing the UK acitivity streak, #27 James Leare got some nice times on WP with 2'01"247 and 39"921. He still has 4 AF points to go before reaching #26 Tim Shelbourne and will also have to keep playing to keep himself in the top 40 on prb. Getting back to my homeland, #29 Marshall LeVett drove a monster LC1 prb flap of 23"385 taking the CR there from Nick and a nice FS flap of 32"362. Like James, he did not move up a spot but is closer to Titan B overall and top 20 prb. Marshall's plan was sidetracked though by another USA player none other than #20 Ted Kim who submitted some new times he has gotten. In all, his 12 new prb times gave him a huge 4.2656 AF cut passing over 10 players! It's not game over for Marshall though because he is less than an AF point behind Ted. Near the top 50 area, #43 Zach Sterling is starting to pick up some speed as he raced to Titan C overall this week with a 5.8750 AF cut moving up two spots with over ten new pr's. We couldn't stay away from the UK for long with #47 Stacy Needham reporting some new times on YC with 1'28"961 and 28"583. He moved up one spot on the charts to help keep him inside that top 50 group and is close to Titan D overall. #51 Pol Gonzalez had another good week putting up a 2.4687 AF cut getting him just a few points shy of Titan E overall! He'll have to cut 3 more points to reach the big five-o which would bump a former World Champion Miguel Rodriguez out of that group. Pol did meet his goal though on prb where he is ranked #50 now with his 1.5781 AF cut there. #70 Lenny Andreev was also a beat this week moving up 15 spots with a 9.7187 AF cut and nearly reached Hero B from getting to Hero C overall from last week. Looks like his training with Ben is really paying off as he is starting to hit some top 20 times now! Surely his pr madness will continue. #83 Alvaro Arroyo hailing from Switzerland as their #3 player made a 5.4688 AF cut to reach Hero C overall and passed a few players in the process. With Fabien and Thomas not far away, their kart aura could very well improve his times! #91 Dennis Molina-Yao helped keep himself from dropping out of the top 100 with a 7.1240 AF cut boosting him to Hero D overall. Likewise, Netherlands' number 4 player #92 continues to improve his times to keep him up there with a 2.5160 AF cut. Lastly, #96 Joe Sebeny moved up a few ranks cutting his AF a little with his new times. Movement outside the top 100 included #137 Scott Kaforey -5.9690 (Expert D to Expert C), #142 Timothee Le Borgne -18.5780 (Expert D to Expert C), #179 Lucas Herrera -9.1410, #186 Isaac Teh -1.7340, #189 Alencar Faria -2.6410, #210 Troy Dunbeck -24.9690 (Advanced C to Advanced B), #211 Marcus Whitley -7.1410, #226 Jacob Goldfinger -20.9530 (Advanced C to Advanced B), #230 Kevin Liang -30.3290 (Advanced C to Advanced B), #239 Robin Elliott -26.7650, #257 Daniel Pabst -0.3590, #280 Andrew Buchan -15.4530 (Intermediate A to Advanced E), #330 Austin Gates -37.1880 (Intermediate B to Intermediate A), #402 Elliot Griffiths -42.5780 (Intermediate E to Intermediate C) and #501 Jesus Clemente -8.1720 (Beginner D to Beginner C). New Records There was 1 WR improved (blue) and three non-prb times (pink). Only BDash was active this week and took down a pretty old WR which was the DH 3lap. Kevin Barbieux was the first to go sub 1'11 here but BDash was able to improve on his time dropping it down to 1'10"753, live replay. For nonprb, Lewis Benny took down the MC flap beating Sascha's very old time with first 29"544 and finally 29"541, 水色 made a nearly 6 month return on WS 3lap taking it sub 1'55 beating BDash's older time with 1'54"923, and Michele Magnaterra utilizing a better SG strat busted the flap with first 21"602, then 21"590, and then 21"490. Awards It seems like everyone was storming up the ranks this week from the very top to the very bottom. With good playing all around, the very best was once again seen at the top. For reaching Myth B overall in virtually a week, large AF and ARR% cut, and top 3 times all over the place, Nick Welch wins the POW for the third week of February, monster! Sonic R!!! |
