06 April 2007: "Chuck Norris can do the LC2 God Times"
Movement

As #3 Giulio Centrone and #4 Fabien Da Silva continue their mkds conquest, they hit some nice times and WR's this week. Giulio made a big leap at the top with a 0.3906 AF cut this week bringing him to an overall AF of 3.3438. He is getting dangerously close to #2 Thomas Bolton with an AF of 2.6719. If Giulio can keep improving his times who knows, maybe a new #1!!! With 22 total God times, Giulio hit some nice pr's including F8C 3lap 1'15"047 Myth C, MC1 3lap and flap 42"051 God and 13"233 God, PC flap 17"945 God, BC2 flap 30"604 Myth B and BP 3lap 43"094 Myth E. As for Giulio's new WR's, he was able to beat the longstanding Shroom Ridge 3lap WR held by BDash earlier this week by driving a 1'40"628. Giulio also grabbed the AF 3lap WR with 1'45"584, beating Thomas' 1'45"745 set back on January 27th 2007. You know Fabien would not let Giulio steal the show so he hit a WR of his own. As being the shortest flap, BP is definitely one of those courses where you know how to use Standard RB or not. It seemed impossible to trump Paul Gourdon's 8"177 set back on December 5th 2006 but Fabien Da Silva blew it away with an insane 8"145. WTFFF I tried Peach, and got 8:145 O_o indeed, but Chuck Norris thinks it can be done even faster!!! With an AF of exactly 5.000, Fabien comfortably holds his #4 spot and has surpassed Thomas in the WR count with 13 and is Switz #1 in that aspect, #1 Sascha Brauninger still has 20. Another top player with a quick WR this week was #5 Nick Welch taking on YF flap and got 15"453, just when you thought this flap could not get any faster too, he is working on the 3lap as well.

Outside the top 5, #6 Timur Ahmad hit a nice bunch of pr's this week moving him up in the rankings a little. Some of his times included TTC flap 30"777 Myth D, KB2 flap 13"411 Myth A, BB 3lap and flap 1'47"448 Myth A and 35"373 God and CI2 flap 15"988 Myth E. Once again Australia's #1, #11 Ben Stoneman continues to smash his times and moved up one place in AF and ARR this week becoming Titan A overall. This was not his greatest achievement this week because Ben finally grabbed the DKP WR's!!! Yes, unthinkable at first because we were blown away by Thomas' times of 1'46"807 and 34"963 set way back on November 28th 2006. Ben chugged away at this course all week and eventually got 1'46"573 and 34"952. Great job at not only getting the DKP God times but the WR's as well!!! Next up we have Canada's #1, #15 Cole Gilbert having another strong week with a 0.9531 AF cut and became Titan C overall. He got some good pr's including WP flap 40"526 Titan D, F8C 3lap and flap 1'16"125 Titan C and 24"943 Titan A, MC 3lap and flap 1'33"546 Hero A and 30"111 Titan D and MMF 3lap 1'05"553 Titan D. Not too far behind Canada's #2, #18 Jack Murphy was also able to make it to Titan C overall this week. His new times included KB2 3lap 43"566 Titan D, AF 3lap and flap 1'47"676 Titan C and 35"578 Titan E, F8C 3lap and flap 1'15"827 Titan B and 25"014 Titan B, RR 3lap and flap 2'01"818 Titan E and 39"498 Titan B and WP flap 40"443 Titan C. Almost getting Titan C overall himself, #20 Louis Vivares continued improving his times and cut 3.1406 off his AF and 0.5313 off his ARR. Finishing off the top 30 this week was #26 Robert Szabo who is still able to hit a quick pr here and there but more importantly #27 Mark Engelsman who I can proudly say is the new #1 Netherlands player!!! He had a surge of pr's this week which not only got him into the top 30 and overall Titan E but passed #28 Miguel Rodriguez in the process, congratulations!!!

Getting close to Titan E overall himself, #32 James Leare is in striking distance for the #1 UK title from #31 Thomas McConville. If TT's didn't suck so much Pulsar would play them more!!! Some of James' times included MMF 3lap and flap 1'06"786 Hero B and 21"666 Hero B, MB 3lap and flap 1'13"408 Hero B and 23"899 Titan E, YF 3lap and flap 48"188 Titan B and 15"690 Myth E and DP1 flap 18"510 Hero C. With an AF cut of 5.6406 Germany's #5, #34 Daniel Marass had another killer week moving up from Hero B to Hero A overall with an ARR of exactly 11.000. Close behind, #37 Enrique Wilde cut 2.9063 off his AF this week and was also able to go Hero B to Hero A with an AR of 11.2812. #38 Nicolas Barco took another shot at RR and was successful in getting the sub 1'58 with 1'57"995 and God flap with 38"766. Finishing the top 50 was Netherlands #3, #46 Steven Glen joining it as well with a 5.2969 AF cut and not too far from Hero B overall with an ARR of 12.7031.

For the rest of the top 100, #51 Jean-Philippe Dumais -1.6406 (#5 Canada, got his first god time at MC1 3lap 42"216), #54 Erik Reynolds -12.3906 (#12 USA, Hero E to Hero C), #58 John Ahlfield -7.2188 (#14 USA, Hero D to Hero C), #61 Chase Peleshaty -1.9063 (#6 Canada), #75 Katashi Takahashi -4.2344 (#8 Canada), #84 Matthew Ord -3.9375 (#7 UK, Expert B to Expert A) and #95 Adam Leibach -0.9220 (#27 USA, Expert C to Expert B).

Movement outside the top 100 included #101 Ted Kim -21.9370 (#30 USA, Expert D to Expert C), #117 Joe Sweeney -11.7660 (#38 USA), #123 Anthony Piraino -0.2180 (#40 USA), #131 Stefano Piazza -0.7340 (#7 Italy), #139 Sander Soeters -21.0630 (#11 Netherlands, Advanced A to Expert E), #153 Swarna Datta -3.5630 (#13 Canada), #157 Frances Penfold -0.6870 (#46 USA), #166 Pol Gonzalez -5.7660 (#4 Spain), #192 Michele Magnaterra -20.5780 (#10 Italy, Advanced C to Advanced B and joins the top 200), #193 Gary Black -0.5000 (#17 UK), #219 Francisco Maciel -26.2500 (#2 Mexico, Advanced E to Advanced D), #246 Jacob McMillin -31.5620 (#84 USA, Intermediate A to Advanced E), #265 Kevin Liang -16.4530 (#10 Australia, Intermediate B to Intermediate A), #318 Brian Smith -22.8750 (#110 USA, Intermediate D to Intermediate C), #420 Chris Wodarski -23.2500 (#154 USA, Beginner E to Beginner C) and #426 Caleb McMillin -20.5160 (#155 USA, Beginner E to Beginner D).

New Records

There were some new people getting WR's this week with prb (blue) and non-prb (pink).

There were 7 WR's improved this week and as you already know, Nick Welch got back on the WR chart by driving a new YF flap of 15"453, how much faster can this record get!!! Equally stunning was Fabien Da Silva's BP flap of 8"145, Peach FTW baby. Once again Giulio was active and took down the longstanding SR 3lap record held by BDash by driving a 1'40"628. He used egg1 and still has best splits for that sub 1'40 here, save the god time for another day. Giulio also took the AF 3lap by driving a 1'45"584. Ben Stoneman made his mark this week with the new DKP WR's of 1'46"573 and 34"952. Ben's 3lap is only "234 quicker and flap "009 quicker than Thomas' previous DKP WR's. Finally, a new Japanese WR by シヴァ getting the new PG flap of 28"319!!!

New non-prb records included Nick's YF flap 15"453, Fabien's BP flap 8"145, Ben's DKP times 1'46"573 and 34"952 and finally Giulio's SR 3lap 1'40"628 and AF 3lap 1'45"584.

Awards

It was a good week for a lot of people but for his hard work very recently he definitely earned the POW. Outside the top 30, he was able to make some serious ground in AF and ARR getting into the top 30 and Titan E overall. Not only that but he is the new Netherlands Champion!!! For his great times this week and finally dethroning previous World Champion Miguel Rodriguez for the title, Mark Engelsman wins the POW for the first week of April, great job!!!

mkds God!!! cool eh? ~ ETCH
