02 August 2006: "Look, a new guy!"
Mathieu Lavoux, a member over at the French MKDS site, sent over some times this week and took out both of the YF SRs with times of 47.972 and 15.669. He hasn't submitted a full set of times yet, but hopefully he will so we can see how he ranks.

#1 Thomas Bolton went a bit backwards in the AF rank this week even though he submitted Site Records as usual. He hit 1:10.681 in SG and 36.084 in CM, which is 0.22 ahead of 2nd place.

#3 Sascha Brauninger had an excellent week as he cut 0.33 in AF and trails #2 Michael Fried by only 0.4 points now. He hit 6 Site Records this week as well, including 1:14.098, 24.319 on GCN Luigi Circuit and 1:11.664 and 23.538 on Mushroom Bridge. He's got 15 SRs now, which is 2nd place in that catagory, a full 9 SRs ahead of 3rd place. Sascha is our player of the week.

#4 Lars Stelzig managed a small 0.1 point AF cut this week even with all Sascha's activity. He took the tightly contested SG flap SR with a time of 22.222. After Miguel's SR stood for 3 months, 3 players have beaten it in the last 10 days.

#6 Guilio Centrone had another great week with a 1.2 point AF cut and SRs of 18.308 on Peach Circuit and 37.582 on Bowser Castle. He jumped over both Josh Griffin and Paul Gourdon in the rankings and is 3rd place in SR tally with 6. For probably the first time in MKDS history, the top 5 stayed the same throughout the month, but Giulio moved up from 9th to 6th and is our July 2006 Player of the Month.

#10 Milan Pacino and #11 Simon Birker were both active again this week with 0.5 and 0.3 point AF cuts.
Milan pushed his F8C flap down a bit to a 6th placed time of 25.080.

Australians #15 Thomas Rielly and #17 Adam Nelson both had big weeks with 3 and 4 point AF cuts. Thomas and Adam are in 2nd and 3rd place among Australian's on the site, but Thomas only trilas #14 Jerome Francois by 2 AF points for that Australian #1 position now.

#19 Nick Welch maintained his top 20 status with a 0.8 point AF cut and #22 Fabien Da Silva moved up a bit more with a 0.5 point AF cut.

#32 Kevin Barbieux had an awesome 6 point AF cut to jump a bunch of people and #33 Sam Buchanan cut 1 point as well.

#39 Josh Habben had a small AF cut but hit another RR SR this week. This time it was a 2:00.698 3lap to give him a 0.6 second lead over Thomas Bolton.

#42 Mark Engelsman will be stepping down as a times updater so thank you to him for his service. He also had a 5.4 point AF cut this week to move up in the ranks.

After Matt Ellis took Canadian #1 away from Cole Gilbert last week for a short time, Cole fired back this week with a huge 16 point AF cut to move him up to 40th place and solidify his Canadian title once again. Cole also showed off his raw skills taking the DH flap Site Record with a time of 23.134, just 0.02 ahead of Bolton, wow!

#49 Matt Ellis promised us at the start of the month (when he was ranked 98th) that he would reach the top 50 by the end of the month and he did it. He squeeked into the top 50 in the last few days of July with a 6 point AF cut this week to accomplish his goal. Matt also joined the site staff as a times updater, thanks!

Honorable mentions go to #52 John Ahlfield and #65 Ben Stoneman.

Happy karting.
