Movement
Very quiet at the top. #5 Vincent van der Fluit is showing more promise, playing some Mushroom Cup races and narrowly missing out on Marius' Peach Beach lap. #11 Mike Hartjens and #14 Stephen Meakings are inching their a little higher as well. Mike is almost within 1 pt away from Yannick Plebani and lowered his ARR to under 0.5, while Stephen managed to tie #14 Stefan van Dijke in AF.
Some busy activity is happening ten place lower down, where #26 Bo Garman, #26 Kyle Clayton and #28 Kristopher Will are very closely bunched up check out their rivalry, where Kyle has a few more records than Kris and Bo, and has the equal best AF and best ARR -- but overall, he and Bo are tied on #26! Obviously, these three didn't play much this week to let #34 Gregor Fran catch up a little and make the rivalry closer. Actually, Gregor produced a couple of PRs this week that helped him pass three more players, so he could definitely reach his rivals soon (he's only six places behind). He also became Titan C!
#43 Jonathan Eyma came back after a month of absence and reported 23 new scores. He managed to pass a few fellow Frenchmen with these (#44 Yohann Ghignet and #45 Sylvin Rigal), and became Titan D. #46 Francois Chu is hoping to pass these guys as well, but even though he's only one position behind, there is a 5pt gap between him and Sylvin, which will require a bit of effort to overcome.
#47 Andreas Rudmarker goes one up from last week, following his successful introduction into the top 50 recently. His 13 PRs (including a few Titan B times!) helped him bridge the gap with Francois Chu ahead of him, and were enough to pass John Anderson. His brother Martin made up two positions this week, reaching #66. Martin's scores are a lot more balanced than Andreas -- he has 31 Hero scores and one high Titan, while Andreas ranges from low Titan to low Expert! While Martin earned himself Hero B this week, Andreas made Hero A.
#80 Jean-Christophe Lacastaignerate's 10 new PRs signal a small comeback after three weeks, passing five players including #85 Jonas Pettersson and #82 Jeffrey Gutierrez. Jean-Christophe has caught up to Benjamin Toudic, and could pass him with a single PR! There are several other Frenchmen that he may have set his sights on, such as #74 Louis Nebout and #73 Arnaud Teil. Arnaud passed 4 players of his own, having scored 5 PRs (including his second and third Hero A times).
#104 Arnaud Guepey has taken a modest lead in his rivalry, following 10 new PRs and great 12 pts cut in AF. He was near #120 Peter Toch last week, but has now passed #112 Brock Courville and #109 Karl Anders! Karl fine-tuned 14 of his scores towards the Hero/Expert border in the last could of days of the week, for a 6pt AF cut and 4 players overtaken.
Canadians #113 Benoit Boudreau and #116 Dave Phaneuf are continuing their friendly competition, with Dave making up a lot of lost ground once again to reach within three positions of Benoit. Benoit has noticed a lot of active players near him and wants to be the first to reach the top 100 from the lot (though Arnaud's sudden jump to 104th might give him a few headaches!). Meanwhile, Dave felt determined to iron out any weaknesses in his scores, and lower them all within the Expert realm (all 32 of his scores are Expert A-C now).
Andreas Brilke has amassed 20 new records recently, enough for a very handy 22 AF pt cut. He made it past the large 8-point gap between 136th and 137th place, and currently sits comfortably one place behind #135 Daniel Kroeger. Andreas' highlights include his first Hero time, an HD on WS lap.
#198 Daniel Sutton-Kane made it into the top 200 this week, after narrowly missing out last week. The American made 16 PRs to move up almost 10 places. #209 Christoph Oatz scored 12 PRs of his own to move up 13 places. He is now near where Daniel was last week, and managed to reach Adv A. Will he also make it into the top 200 by next week?
After five weeks absence, #236 Jan Haye Klijnstra has reported 29 new PRs. A lot! The stat improvements were equally staggering, moving up 30 places and going from Adv D to Adv B. Another recent player pulling off the big numbers was Belgian #258 Cyril Ladisa, who had 28 PRs (A lot!) and jumped 14 places. He's very new and we should expect him to keep it up. #297 Christophe Cosentino (also Belgian and also a recent addition) had 20 PRs of his own, moved up 18 positions, and reached Int A.
#317 Max Reese is the last of the new guys kicking his PRs to the ground, with 28 PRs (A lot!) within 8 days, for a 51pt AF cut and a jump from Beg B to Int A (4.8 ARR pts). Granted, much of this was a result from him missing lap times and being awarded the Newbie rank for them, but in any case, he still races quite a lot of new PRs.
Honourable mentions: #150 Jonas Natanaelsson (Expert C), #167 Cameron Tangen (also Expert C), #356 Robert Crookes (Intermediate C).

Movement
The Germans dominated the week, with both #4 David Schiering and #6 Rene Bauer going psycho. Wait, #4 and #6?! David somehow managed 14 PRs, to eliminate his ARR entirely, halve his AF with a huge 5.5 pt cut, and overtake 5 players. He is now one place behind top German Marius Mollenhauer (granted, he's a little bit far from him, though). Rene also produced 13 PRs for a 3.5 pt cut, and snuck ahead of #7-#9 Richard Karlsson, Paul Tanney and Paul Maes. Oddly enough, both player seemed to play different tracks, for the most part, but some of the message board posts do hint that there was going to be a great battle between them for the #2 German spot! Against each other, both players are tied 8-8 in course times, but David seems to be the better sprinter in the laps (see matchup).
#5 Vincent van der Fluit was happily going at his own pace, scoring a few more WRs, but was passed by David. Despite all the heavy PRing from the other two, Vincent managed to end the week on an improvement and is still ahead of Rene; in fact, he's pretty close to David anyway. If you check out the rivalry, you'll notice that Vince and David are tied on first places and in rivalry-AF, but Dave has the upper hand because his ARR is 0.06 less! Rene Bauer (and Richard Karlsson) is very close behind in the rivalry, too. These guys made lots of strong PRs and hurt the AF of the top 3 players, with each of #1 Jonathan Steel, #2 Raphael Segas and #3 Marius Mollenhauer losing around 0.2-0.3 in AF. Now, Jonathan was the most recently active from this lot, and his AF suffered the least, losing 0.09 less than Raphael lost. So, by accident, Jonathan made up his 0.03 deficit from last week and ended up passing Raphael by 0.06 in AF without even PRing! Marius's top 3 spot is quite safe for now, being merely 0.06 behind Raphael and 2.5 pts ahead of David.
#15 Stephen Meakings made a return to the rankings, after many months timeout. Along with Fernando Moritz before him, Stephen seems to have consolidates his ill-feelings towards whoevem he was unhappy with, and has joined once more. His reinstatement into the AF chart seems him at 15th place, just ahead of Luke Mulders, and just behind Mike Hartjens, the Tr[iy]stans and Stefan van Dijke. In ARR, he is Titan A (but only just). Stephen ended up scoring 2 new PRs since his comeback, both of which were God.
#37 Gregor Fran has taken the #2 USA spot, after #30 Bo Garman. Gregor made a couple of PRs (including a speedy MB God lap), which were enough to see him get ahead of #41 Jon Prentice, as well as Prashant Bhoja and Paul Regeffe. Gregor also used to have #33 Yohan Foog ahead of him, but Yohan has since ended his reconnaissance work... erm, undercover mission... umm.. well, let's just pretend that Yohan is moving back to France through his own accord. Likely to pass Prentice soon is also #42 Alejandro Hernandez, who is just one position and 0.8 AF pts away from the #3 USA spot.
#58 Martin Rudmarker and his brother #48 Andreas are showing some signs of slowing down, not having double-digits improvements for a change. Andreas did just enough to make it into the top 50, and pass the pair of Dave's, Lalo and Taylor. Martin is trying to keep up, improving twice as much in terms of AF, but only moving up one position. #62 Daniel Sloggett is fast approaching the top 50 himself. With 15 new PRs and a nice 4 pt cut, he passed 7 players! It's a good thing they were bunched up so close. He also got his promotion to Hero C.
Outside the top 100, Canadians #116 Beniot Boudreau and #124 Dave Phaneuf made some big moves. Not too long ago, Beniot was quite pleased with passing his friend Dave. He PRed for several days staight this week, making 13 new PRs to pass 15 players. But Dave is getting back into the action, coming back from a few weeks of inactivity with new PRs - enough to improve 10 positions himself. Both players are Expert B, and since there's not even ten places between them, Dave has a good chance of taking back the lead!
#175 FLorent Lacoanet was a big mover too, having been away for 3 weeks, but coming back with 26 PRs and a 44 pt AF cut, which made him jump over 40 positions! He went from Advanced B to Expert D with all those big PRs.
Some of our newer additions are progressing quite well, too. #252 Robert Verlint, #254 Warren Macready and #272 Bryan Alexander produced 11, 18 and 26 PRs, respetively. Robert's PRs helped even out his times to the mid Expert level, and he improved by 24 places. Warren moved up 9 places, while Bryan jumped 37. Belgian #315 Christophe Cosentino had his second big submissions since joining, and his 14 new PRs helped him to a 26 pt cut, or 25 places.
Honourable mentions: #45 Francois Chu (Hero A), #82 Dave le Clair (Hero D), #207 Daniel Sutton-Kane, #222 Christoph Oatz, #=367 Benny Bernsdorff (big ARR cuts), #=367 Joe Flynn (even bigger ARR cuts).
New Records
Vincent van der Fluit continues his streak from last week, and netted two more WRs (again, both on the same course). Firstly, he beat David Schiering's Daisy Cruiser 31'7 lap (set last week), with a 31"684. He then succeeded where Marius didn't, by beating Raphael Segas' course time, with 1'37"871! Raphael's 1'37"872 was set 3 months ago, and Marius narrowly missed it by 0.01 a few months back, but Vincent managed to beat it by 0.001
Paul Tanney, Vincent, Rene Bauer and David Schiering were all busy going for 1'04s on Baby Park this week. David and Vincent missed out, but Paul and Rene made it. In fact, Rene's 1'04"850 narrowly beat Jonathan Steel's 1'04"87 (from last week).

#2 Jonathan Steel made four new PRs this week to decrease #1 Raphael Segas's AF score by 0.18 (to 2.75) and #3 Marius Mollenhauer's by 0.25 (to 2.81). This breaks the tie between Marius and Raphael for first place, while Jonathan managed to squeeze into 2nd spot with 2.78. Actually he briefly held #1 during the week, but some new WRs from other players later in the week caused the top 3 player's AF to fall a bit, and Jonathan's fell back below Raphael's. So the top 3 ranks were shuffled quite a lot this week, even though two of the players didn't play. Crazier still is that it will take an improvement of just 1 position in one course for Jonathan to at tie Segas, and just one position on one course for Marius to tie Jonathan. Very close!
#4 Vincent van der Fluit is stretching his lead over #6 Paul Tanney, scoring 11 PRs (including a few WRs) and most of them were God. Vince is only 2 standards away from an ARR of 0, but his AF is strong enough to hold off #5 Richard Karlsson, who reached 0.00 this week! Richard made 6 PRs this week to finish off the last of his standards, including both DKM's, and managed to pass Paul Tanney as well. Richard still has a few scores that rank outside the top 10, so he might be able to fight Vince for 4th.
#8 Rene Bauer and #9 David Schiering are still battling for the German silver medal, both scoring some great PRs. Rene passed Yannick Plebani and Mike Hartjens to move to one place behind Paul Maes after scoring 6 PRs. More surprising is that he is the 6th person to have an ARR of 0.0, after finishing off his last two Titan times (DKM) only a couple of days ago! This means that he cut off all 0.43 of his ARR is just one week. David halved his, going from 0.77 to 0.41 after producing 9 PRs. He too overtook Yannick Plebani and Mike Hartjens, to make it into the top 10, and he currently trails his friend Rene by 1.1 AF pts (on one hand, he has a few WRs, but on the other, he has some weaker scores in Mushroom Cup, where 6 out of his remaining 7 Titan scores are).
#20 Christian Kuklok is exhibiting more symptoms of the Crazy Dutch Videogame Player Crazy PR Smash virus, scoring 17 new PRs in the past ten days. He managed to pass 7 players with these, including #21 Rodolphe Gouet, #23 David Grard and #27 Steven Zwartjes. Christian has made up a lot of ground on the #3 German Andre Wachsmuth, who is only one place ahead of him now, and he even cut a whole ARR point in one week (now Titan B)!
#49 Benjamin Zeller has returned after 6 weeks absence, reporting 9 new PRs. These were enough to take him ahead of #51 Andreas Rudmarker and #52 Tanguy Audenaert and break into the top 50! Another player who is very close to doing the same is #53 Rickard Lindell, who passed Matt Brown and Remi Taroni. He is only 3 places away, but at least he made Hero B this week.
Not far behind Rickard are #59 Martin Rudmarker, #60 Alan DeLoriea and #62 Tobias Bauer, who are all active and very tight. We have a new rivalry for them. Alan has most of the laps and Tobias has most of the course records in this rivalry, but Martin is slightly in the lead overall because his times are more balanced and he has the best AF. Tobias made Hero C this week, so all three guys are now HC.
#69 Daniel Sloggett became active again recently, and has almost halved his ranking since he came back. He start with a goal of getting back into the top 100, and he achieved that easily. He's #69 now, on the better half towards reaching the top 50. He passed 7 players this week, including Ivo van der Stap and famous gamers Lars Nouwen and Matt Flees. If Daniel continues to catch up to the above three players, I'll put him in that rivalry.
#117 Karl Anders made a huge improvement of 8 AF points from only 9 PRs, allowing him to pass 9 players. His PRs are quite balanced, with all of them being of fairly similar rankings and standard. He does have one Hero time already, though - a DC lap that ranks 79, which is more than 20 places better than his next best. Looks like he has the skills to be a top 100 player very soon!
#171 Cameron Tangen scored 13 PRs to move up 7 places, passing Cooper Lovera on the way. He doesn't have many people coming at him from behind, but he's catching up to #168 Michael Campbell and #161 Jonas Natanaelsson. Quite a ways behind Cameron is #225 Tom Hummel, who scored 11 PRs, improved 28 places and reached Advanced B. This effort was emulated by #252 Michael Liem, who scored 10 PRs and jumped 23 places, also getting a rank promotion, to Advanced C. Last but not least, #309 Bryan Alexander, who only joined last week, is progressing nicely with a 47 pt cut to move up 40 places in his first week, and skipped a whole rank to reach Intermediate A.
New Records
Lots and lots!
Jonathan Steel took the Baby Park 3lap to 1'04"876, leading Paul Maes by 0.09. They are the only two players under 1'05. Yet another Baby Park record went down, this time David Schiering edging Jonathan Steel's 5-month old lap of 8"610 with a 8"606 -- is 8'5x possible?!
David Schiering scored himself a second record, on Daisy Cruiser lap! He beat Segas' 31"74 and Steel's 31"74 with a 31"702. Vincent van der Fluit came close a few days later (31'76), but not quite enough.
Vince did score another WR, however. Actually two, with a double on Sherbet Land. His lap of 24"000 breaks the WR tie (between Steel and Segas, 24"089), and his course time of 1'14"718 leads Segas by 0.08. Vince and Raphael are the only two players under 1'15.

#1 Raphael Segas has lowered his AF to 2.56, after two new PRs in Peach Beach. Raphael gained 0.09 while #1 Marius Mollenhauer lost 0.09, and now their AF and ARR scores are both tied! Raphael has more WRs and lower total times, but Marius plays in 60Hz... so you decide who is better from these two!
#4 Vincent van der Fluit scored himself one measly insignificant PR, yet it was enough to gain him the 4th spot ahead of Paul Tanney, because Paul lost more ground than Vince due to other players beating their scores. Vince is now 0.06 ahead of Paul in AF.
#6 Richard Karlsson is fast catching up, chopping another 2.0 pts from his AF to pass Paul Maes, and he is 0.3 behind Paul and Vince now. Richard has been fairly active in recent weeks, and might be able to overtake them too?! He managed to lower his ARR to tie Vince at 0.18, the 5th best ARR.
#9 Mike Hartjens decreased the gap between himself and Yannick Plebani by 0.5 pts this week, but still trails by 1.5. Maybe this new month will bring more good news for Mike, who has been kicking lots of butt lately. Close behind Mike is #11 David Schiering, who ran a few new Rs. Not enough to pass his friend #10 Rene Bauer just yet, unfortunately.
#28 Christian Kuklock must be annoying his friend David Schiering a lot, because of all the PRs David has to send on behalf of his Internet-less friend. Last week we received 32 PRs from Christian, and in the past ten days he has been able to beat 26 of them again! This amounts to a 17 pt AF cut, and made him pass a total of 16 players. He instantly cut a huge 2.3 pts in ARR, and went from Hero A to Titan C! Must be a German variant of the Crazy Dutch Videogame Player Crazy PR Smash virus that Marius has brought back from his visit to Holland.
#30 Kristopher Will has a less acute infection of this virus, and PRs less crazily, but more consistently. He PRs pretty much every week, and is quietly making his way higher and higher. He passed Cedric Willo and Yohan Foog this week, and is now one place behind Bo Garman. Yohan is planning to "indefinitely" go "inactive" for a while to concentrate on other obviously-not-as-important-as-kart matters for a while, and look to be leaving Bo Garman to keep the USA championship for now.. who will succeed him as the man to make Bo sweat? It looks like it could be #40 Alejandro Hernandez, who once again passed #42 Gregor Fran, having scored 10 new PRs, including a 15th-place Titan B lap in DKM (it even ranks better than his God time on MB lap!).
Super Rudmarker Bros continue to pass their MKDD disc between each other like a hot potato, this time Martin making much larger cuts than his brother Andreas. #50 Andreas still produced 19 PRs to cut 6.5 AF pts and reach #50, overtaking #51 Ben Zeller, #52 Rob van Zanten and #53 Matt Brown, and reached Hero B. On the other hand, Martin made 24 PRs and passed 17 players, reaching Hero C! Little Rickard Lindell is stuck between both Super Rudmarker Bros at #55 as the current 3rd best Swede. He did make 8 PRs this week, in an attempt to keep up with Andreas. Will he get to the top 50, or hold off Super Martio?
#61 Alan DeLoriea is no longer in a rivalry because he was winning by too much in his old one. This week he passed fellow American #64 Michael Fried, as well as ex-champ #62 Cesar Martin. Now that Alan is surrounded by active players again, maybe it's time for another rivalry for him. Unless he plans not to hang around outside the top 50 for too long..
#65 Tobias Bauer has strengthened his rivalry lead by too much, and I'd like suggestions of moving him over to another. #76 Daniel Sloggett is struggling to keep up with Tobias, who is now 11 places ahead after a 6.5 AF pt cut from 12 new PRs.
#82 Jean-Christophe Lacastaignerate returns after a month absence with 25 new PRs, easily breaking through into the top 100. He's one of those guys that really likes to play one course more than the others, and his 1'44"6 and 34"1 in DKM, which are both in the top 10 and Titan A, really stand out from his other scores, which average at 84th place. He reached Hero D overall, too, after a very big 1.9 pt ARR cut.
You've been seeing the names #121 Dan Furst and #126 Karl Anders written in the news before, because they don't know the meaning of "I can't PR". Dan passes yet another 7 players with his 15 PRs, while Karl passed 8 players with his 21 PRs and earned Expert B. They are both pretty evenly matched up, so who will make it into the top 100 first?
#136 Thomas van Leeuwen's 27 PRs certainly went a long way to helping him pass 31 players this week, and gaining a bit lead on his Swedish rival #164 Jonas Natanaelsson (they both joined at around the same time, and were pretty much tied last week). Jonas still did pretty good, making 17 PRs and reducing his AF by 12pts. Keeping pace with Jonas is #165 Enzio Fruijtier, who did a lot of catching up after Jonas' huge burst of PR-age last week. Enzio is just one place behind him now.
#177 Cameron Tangen and #178 Isaac Wilcox are dead even, though Cameron had to work harder in order to take the lead between the two. After two weeks absence, he came back with 19 PRs and reached Expert D, while Isaac made 9 and also became Expert D.
#267 Warren Macready and #274 Robert Verlint are two of our most recent players, and both improved by 20 pts. Warred moved up 30 positions, while Robert moved up 26 and broke into the top 300. A good start, but how far will they go? One place behind Robert is #275 Michael Liem, who found his brother's copy of MKDD and managed to pull off some quick PRs for a 24 pt AF cut and moved up 30 places! Warren, Robert and Michael each cut 1.0 ARR places, and each was promoted from Intermediate A to Advanced D. Ten places behind Michael is #285 Joel Davies, who came back from a month absence to report all 32 new PRs. Joel ended up cutting a huge 58 pts from his AF, or about 55 positions.
Honourable mentions: #88 Dave le Clair, #119 Alexandre Vaesken, #128 Benoit Boudreau, #288 Michael Verlint.
New Records
Raphael Segas scored himself a 1'08"557 on Peach Beach to raise his WR tally to 14.5 (0.5 for the SL lap tie). His new record leads Jonathan Steel by 0.06, and there are 9 players sub 1'09.
