| Movement Following last week's 2 WRs, #5 Vincent van der Fluit reported another 3 new PRs for a 0.15 cut. It may not sound like much, but #4 Marijn Jongbloed lost 0.1, which puts Vince within 0.3 AF pts of catching up to his Dutchie rival! #9 Marius Mollenhauer didn't advance any positions, but he'll surely drink a few beers this week to celebrate his 1000th straight day as 60Hz champ. He too over from Brazil's Fernando Moritz dos Santos in Oct 2004. Fernando was a four-time combined champ, beating the likes of me, Paul Tanney and David Grard. #23 Kevin Borne is the latest French sensation, powering through another 4 players this week. Unfortunately three of them were French, so France didn't gain too much from Kevin's manoeuvres, but Kevin did become the 7th Frenchman in the process. #20 Olivier Lavenant is only a few places ahead. Kevin's 0.3 ARR cut promotes him to Myth D. #29 Alex Hantson is no doubt a major contributer to Switzerland's recent ascent to the top of the all-player Country AF, being the top among four Swiss players. Fabien da Silva's introduction gave Switzerland the required 3+ scores per course to be ranked in this crazy chart. Alex cut 2 AF pts from 5 PRs, moving past Mike Hartjens and Kris Will. #32 Matt Tanzer's 3.3 cut gives him a clean lead over #33 Gregor Fran in the AF chart, despite still trailing in the US rivalry and head-to-head. No doubt Matt's next PRs will give him the edge there as well. He scored 6 PRs over the week, including a Myth B in Mush City; it's his best standard if we don't counting the A-tech frenzy of PB and BP (where he has 2 god times). Matt is now a Titan+! #92 Ryan Stevens finished off the month nicely with sizable cut. This time it was 4.3 AF pts, which was enough to pass 4 players. If he doesn't only get POM, he might have a good shot at POQ as well. In Ryan's region, #99 Andrew Manning was active but couldn't quite catch rival #98 Alessandra Martinelli. #163 Jordon Ward passed 12 players with a 9pt cut, sending in 7 PRs after a couple of months of inactivity. He also became Exp A. #214 Fabien da Silva made a 132 pt cut to jump 129 places. He's probably aiming for something much higher. Who's taking bets on how long it will take him to reach the top-100? Although probably not quenching his thirst much, two small bonuses for Fabien: he passed #216 Robert Szabo, and he skipped two full titles to reach Exp C. New guy #260 Thomas Mizzi jumped several ranks as well, cutting 8 pts in ARR to get to Expert D level. I'm not sure how far he will go, but let's wait and see. He's part of the French Army, and they always have some superstar recruits... New Records Four WRs this week! Marijn Jongbloed improves his own record on Peach Beach from 1'07"59 to 1'07"519, moving up from G+6 to G+7. Aron Langerak improved to 1'07"55 on the same day update, so didn't quite get the WR. The next player in line is JSX with 1'07"67. Aron did get a new WR, though, on Dry Dry Desert. 1'29"780, a 0"08 drop. French Army vet Paul Maes is still 2nd place here with a score from over a year ago. The other two new records were both by Andreas Rudmarker: 1'27"429 Mario Circuit and 1'34"387 Mushroom City. Unfortunately, Andreas already held both of them and so doesn't get any gains in the WR tally. His MCR is now 0"18 ahead of both Aron and Hendrik, up .11, and his MCT improved by .03 to be .05 ahead of Aron. New Players Welcome to... Thomas Mizzi, France (262nd, Exp D) |
