15 May 2007: "`Sad day for MKDD... but maybe only temporarily'"
Movement

If you haven't noticed, #3 Richard Karlsson was removed for proof reasons. Rumour has it that he refused to provide any vids for his proof call. Fortunately, rumour also has it that he's going to go to the Norway kart meeting in a couple of months, where lots of cameras will be filming. For now, at least, just about everyone gained one rank for free. This also means that it's harder for me to notice who improved over the week.

#1 Hendrik Bunde... wait, Hendrik? Well, it turns out that Hendrik got a slightly better deal that #2 Aron Langerak when Richard went, gaining a 0.1 cut. He fell just 0.03 short of Aron's crown. But he took advantage of this, scoring 2 new PRs and cutting an extra little bit. It was enough to take back the #1 spot... for now. Aron held it for almost 50 days, which is about twice as long as any other Dutchie had.

#3 Andreas Rudmarker perhaps benefitted the most from Richard's cut, since he was the guy one spot down. With 3 new PRs in tow, Andreas cut over 1 pt in AF. He's now 1.5 pts behind Aron.

#6 Jean-Christophe Lacastaignerate made up 0.7pts on #5 Vince van der Fluit, and is now less than 1 AF pt behind. Two of his four PRs were God, and one was a WR. JSX is being followed by #7 Konsta Jukka, who made an equally sizeable 1.4pt cut. Among Konsta's PRs was a sub-8"50 in BP, taking 3rd.

#41 Matt Tanzer's 5.2pt cut helped him pass 6 players, all of whom have strange foreign names that are tricky to pronounce. Among them were Grard, Benoit and TvL, all of whom are reasonably famous MKDD names. Matt's just a couple of PRs away from having 32/32 Titan...

#123 Alessandra raced 9 PRs earlier in the week in her attempts to get 32/32 Italian records (she is one short). Meanwhile, her rival #136 Andrew Johnson became a Hero.

#187 Ryan Stevens continued from where he left off last week and made another nearly-20-pt cut. Safely into the top-200, that guy. Passed the likes of Arto Jarvela, Tuomas Dunkel and Cameron Tangen. He raised a few wtf flags with his Myth time on Peach Beach, which is ranked 42nd.
#198 Patrick Hewson had a surprisingly good week, scoring a 21pt AF cut and getting that top-200 position mentioned last week. Both Ryan and Pat got promotions, to Exp A and Exp B, respectively.

#321 Zach Tabak's 29pt cut puts him above site overlord Mark Jones, which is always a humorous thought. Among his 16 PRs was a Hero D time on BP that ranks in the top 150. That's something, eh?

#396 Otto Knigge has outed himself as being secretly a Dutchie--well, at least he has Dutchie blood--and reported a bunch of PRs he made over the past month. There were 32 such PRs, all of them between Adv B-D. Very consistent. He reached Adv C in ARR and beat 50 odd players in AF with his 63pt cut.

#594 Emeric Gosselin reported 24 PRs for a 80pt AF cut. That translates to 60 positions on the ladder. Emeric joined three weeks ago, and this week's breeze him through the low Beg ranks and straight into Int D.

New Records

Jean-Christophe Lacastaignerate already has a WR, and added another: 33"032 G+1 lap in DDJ. Hendrik's old record of 33"099 GD was from September last year.

Hendrik used to have a WR tie (with Olivier Peruch) in DC flap for a long time until Aron beat them both by just 0.004. That was a little over a month ago. Hendrik is once again has the WR, and it's once again tied (now with Aron), at 31"376 G+3.

The last record was also Hendrik's: a 1'36"943 in DC. The previous record, Andreas Rudmarker's 1'36"97, was set earlier this week and lasted for 4 days.

Hendrik's WR tally is 10. Aron leads by 2.
