| I forgot to update yesterday Movement #2 Hendrik Bunde scored 4 PRs and dropped back below 4.0 on AF, cutting Raphael's lead to below half a point once again. #3 Vincent van der Fluit lost ground on a few levels, and his AF suffered a 0.2 increase. This puts Hendrik also a full AF point ahead of Vince again. #6 Marius Mollenhauer is attempting a comeback, cutt 0.7 AF points to tie Paul Maes for 6th place. He scored 4 PRs, and they were the first that he has reported for 11 months (maybe he snacked a girl more than he should have, and had to go to the army to prepare for his new role). Jokes aside, most of Marius's scores were new 60Hz records. He must be trying out the new SSMT technique, so expect more PRs. This is bad news for Olivier, who has been steadily catching up to Marius for some time now. He even got to within one position of him (#6 vs #7), even though he was 3 pts away in AF. Olivier is still doing good, scoring a 0.6 cut in AF himself. It will take another four or so such efforts to catch Paul Maes, before being able to worry about Marius again. #13 Aron Langerak had a cool week last week to out-cool the week before, and had another cool week this time to equi-cool the one before this. With a cool 10 PRs this time, he didn't gain any positions. Well, it's because the gap between #12 Paul Tanney and #14 Yannick Plebani is over 3pts. But Aron's drop brings him on the closer side to Paul. It's a long way towards the top 10, but maybe he's Aron is setting his sights him. That's pretty cool. #15 Nathan Cromwell became the third-ranked 60Hz player last week after passing Bo Garman, but #17 Bo has picked up controller again and made up 2 places in reply. Nathan passed #16 Luke Mulders and should pass #14 Yannick Plebani soon, but Bo made a slightly bigger cut to indicate that he's catching up. There's only half an AF pt between them at the moment, so a single week can easily turn things around. And, if you wish to believe it, Nate has reduced his AF to 5.499999999999*, so he's a Myth D. Apparently. Numbers don't lie. (* - I may have added a few extra 9's for hyperbole.) #25 Alejandro Hernandez is steadily catching up to #24 Gregor Fran, netting a 0.5 AF pt larger cut than Gregor this week. Gregor is now 0.4 behind 60Hz rival Olivier Lavenant, but Alejandro is 0.5 behind Gregor. So somebody is going to be passing somebody soon, and it will be a 60Hz player. While #31 Jake Sopcak scored the second largest drop from the top-50 players, his effort was eclipsed (at first glance on the ladder, at least) by #30 Jean-Christophe Lacastaignerate's 6.4 AF cut, moving up 6 places. JCL reported 15 new PRs, but we're not sure how long he's been hoarding #38 Bart Janssen-Bouwmeester must have realised he's right behind #39 Steven Zwartjes, and scored a few comeback PRs to beat him out by one position on the ladder. He says he's officially back, so we should be expecting more PRs, I guess. Curiously enough, one place ahead of Bart is #37 David Grard, who (IIRC) used to be champ back in Bart's earlier days. Say hello to the newest Titan, #58 Stacy Needham, who has been scoring daily PRs for a surge towards the top 50. His 7.9 pt AF cut moves him up 6 places. Reaching #50 Jonathan Eyma will require another 9 AF pts. Stacy scored 15 PRs, including a Myth A 8'61 Baby Park lap ranked in the top 20. #101 Piet den Dulk loves to tease us, and remains on the tip of the top 100. He scored 6 PRs, so at least we have a sign that he's active in multiple courses. A repeat of this week's effort should let him catch up to #99 Arnaud Palierne #110 John Hornick is coming up on the outside, to hopefully spur Piet into a canter. John's 12 PRs on the back straight and new Hero D title give him tailwind momentum to carry into the bell-lap and reach the top 100 before Piet. But punters shouldn't scratch Piet out just yet, since he's been plodding and not showing us his potential. While Piet has pole position to reach the wire, John's recent mile-rate is higher and he may coast a win. Hmm. Expect a photo finish? #136 Andrew Math is calculating his (wait, I think I used that joke already... >_<) own ride towards the top 100, with a ginormous... okay, well it's pretty big... 27 pt AF cut. He collected 24 PRs for a cut this size, but moved up 26 places with it. If he can pull off a similar one next week, he may reach John. #167 Joey Michorius was a little quiet last week, but he reported 32 new PRs to score a 22 pt AF cut. He was already top 200, but his new batch of times puts him almost 30 places higher, passing B-grade celebrities such as Bill Lacey, Marius Hukkelaas and Dean Barnhart. Joey is still keeping up good pace and not slowing down too much, so he should be able to go a fair bit higher. Like Jongerius. Newcomer #212 Eric Larson's first week ended up in a nifty 19 pt AF cut. It's no fun going solo, so Eric's movement gave #215 Robert Szabo a bit of a run - Robert made a larger cut of 23pts, but Eric started ahead and finished ahead. Inbetween this duo are #213 Flynn Hoppenbrouwers and #213 Ewan Stephens, both active and moving forward. Two places behind the quartet lies #217 Stanislas Arnoud, who moved up 8 places and passing a few familiar names (Craig Lubbers, Michael Jensen, Michael Campbell). So that makes 5 active players withint 6 consecutive slots. Someone should give Enzio Fruijtier a nudge to make it a sextet. Unfortunately, these guys seem to be improving at different rates, so they may not remain so chummy for very long. #251 Pat 'call me Hewson' Awesome is pulling off some nice 20-pt cuts as well, scoring 16 PRs - most of them Exp D and Adv A. To his credit, he passed former champion (or something) #270 Mark Jones. Too bad that he stopped so close to top #250. Another PR could do it. #281 Jared Stiefel's 30 PRs resulted in a ginormous...okay, well it's pretty big... 60 pt AF cut, easily cruising past the 300 mark. Supposedly school's out, which gives Jared lots of time to improve his game. He's Adv B now. #371 Ned Furtney got the highest numerical cut of the week with a 87 pt AF drop. Good news is that his drop was huge and he passed too many people for me to list. And he skipped past two ranks to reach Int A. Bad news is that he ended up just shy of the half-way mark - there's 733 karters who have sent in scores, so 366 would be about the middle. He also needs, like, 2 more PRs to get promoted to Advanced. Brother John is up at #170, so Ned might have been getting some coaching... but he should try to score a few more PRs than what John advises Honourable mentions: #214 Ewan Stephens (Exp C), #~337 Robert Chastain (Adv C). New Records Hendrik Bunde tied Raphael Segas's G+9 overall WR on Baby Park lap, with a 8"544 of his own. They are 0.01 ahead of the next best time. Three players scored WRs in 60Hz. Olivier Peruch's Sherbet Land time of 1'14"896 complements his SL lap record from last week, and is 0.11 ahead of Marius. It's a Myth time, and 0.3 behind the overall record. Nathan Cromwell refuses to let Alan DeLoriea take the 60hz and American BP lap record away, scoring a 8"572 against Alan's 8"576, on the same day. Both scores are G+3, but next two best 60hz times (Bo Garman and Olivier Peruch) are very close behind them (about 0.01 between all four players). Marius Mollenhauer's comeback includes three new 60Hz records in Mushroom Cup. His new Luigi Circuit lap of 24"485 is GD, and 2nd overall - Raphael is still 0.04 ahead. Marius's new time puts a 0.1 lead over Olivier Peruch for this level. Jake Sopcak and Alejandro Hernandez scored some strong laps on LC at the close of the week, almost beating out Olivier for second spot. Marius also regained both Peach Beach records, which he had lost to Olivier. His 1'08"288 ranked GD, and is 0.07 faster than Olivier's M+ time from a month ago. His new 21"886 lap on the level beats Olivier by 0.03. It is 3rd overall, and G+2. The new 60hz records give Marius the lead in the tally over Olivier, with 16 WRs to 12. Nathan is next, with 2 on BP. New Players Welcome to...
